Rome - Pope Francis has said the coronavirus pandemic is one of "nature's responses" to humans ignoring the current ecological crisis. In an email interview published Wednesday in The Tablet and Commonwealth magazines, the pontiff said the outbreak offered an opportunity to slow down the rate of production and consumption and to learn to understand and contemplate the natural world.
"We did not respond to the partial catastrophes. Who now speaks of the fires in Australia, or remembers that 18 months ago a boat could cross the North Pole because the glaciers had all melted? Who speaks now of the floods?"

Let's see. Maybe the virus resided in glaciers all these millenia. Or maybe it was hiding in the Australian brush. Or floods brought it from interior China. This guy is God's response to human idiocy.

This Pope is really out in left field. Popes getting involved in world politics, and the internal politics of nation states throughout history have caused a lot of death and destruction over the ages. This Pope should know that.
Everybody who has been paying attention knows the corona virus pandemic started in Wuhan, China either in a Chinese culture based “wet” market, or somehow the virus escaped from what may be a Chinese biowarfare laboratory at Wuhan. There is no indication that so-called climate change had any connection to the pandemic.

You'd think a man of God might consider the possibility that this crisis could be an indictment of our society's lack of Christlike behavior. Maybe, maybe not but that would make more sense than the Lord fretting about climate change.

The pope would do well to study the Word regarding the actual upcoming global warming.
Rev. 8:7 The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were thrown down on the earth. One-third of the earth was set on fire, one-third of the trees were burned, and all the green grass was burned.
Revelation 20:8-10 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Understand, Pope Francis is often used as a Sock-Puppet by the Curia. I can't count the number of times he has reportedly said something, for it to be walked back only a day or two, later. Francis may have said what's reported.
He also may have said nothing at all.
My dad was a legal officer of an oil Company back in the sixties. I remember him giving an interview, in our home on a Friday night to a reporter from our Morning City Paper. My Dad had one of the early miniaturized cassette recorders, from which he would transcribe notes.
The story, when it was released, was totally different from the interview, relating things my Dad had not touched on and including questions and answers that did not happen. If my dad hadn't had the recorder to present to his Bosses, he wouldn't have had a job, as the story was a hit-piece on the company.

We are told by the Catholic Church that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ here on earth and cannot be challenged? Thank God for Martin Luther who actually read the scriptures and found Salvation through Grace, apart from works...lest any man should boast! How can the Pope be a prophet when he is wrong every time he opens his mouth? Are Catholics buying this?

Il Papa should take a look at the Scriptures--
Proverbs 3v5-7 "Trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge HIM, and He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil".

There have been several major pandemics that we know about over the past 5000 - 6000 years.
Maybe the pope should go into his closet and pray and search the Scriptures and pray for wisdom and discernment.
