The federal government is classifying the deaths of patients infected with the coronavirus as COVID-19 deaths, regardless of any underlying health issues that could have contributed to the loss of someone's life.
Dr. Deborah Birx, the response coordinator for the White House coronavirus task force, said the federal government is continuing to count the suspected COVID-19 deaths, despite other nations doing the opposite.
"There are other countries that if you had a pre-existing condition, and let's say the virus caused you to go to the ICU [intensive care unit] and then have a heart or kidney problem," she said during a Tuesday news briefing at the White House. "Some countries are recording

This is what I refer to as "overclassification". It could be done for political reasons. This would not be the first time an illness has been politicized. Remember HIV and AIDS?

There numbers are not adding up so they have to fudge them.
People were pulling numbers out of their butts.

There is a real possibility that this pandemic is not going to be as bad as originally predicted.
Some states are REALLY flattening the curve, and that peak before we see the decline may be happening faster in some states than others, and while everyone wants things to get better faster, the doomsayers need death STATISTICS to keep the $$$ taps on.

Well, that would buttress the government argument that it needs more power...
...wouldn't it?

I guess the good Drs. Fauci and Brix as well as CDC need some type of justification for the hosed up models that they are shoving down our throats. By doing this, the actuals deaths that are entered in the database are just as corrupt as the models. STUPID.

A person can die with a corona-virus but not die from a corona virus. So, IMHO, "classifying all deaths of patients with corona-virus as 'COVID-19' deaths" is deceptive and will certainly lead to over-inflation of the stats. Is that type of reporting standard practice among health statisticians? Or are they trying to drive up the numbers artificially?

#8 a great example provided last night on Fox was that many more men die WITH prostate cancer than die FROM prostate cancer.

And even with the number faking and inflating, more people died from committing suicide in my state, the State of Tennessee, than died with this Chinese virus last week.

So the real number of COVID-19 victims is probably less than 50% of what they are quoting. Would it be accurate to count all of the workers and small business owners who have gone under as "victims?"

In our state the number of coronavirus deaths jumped by 15% in one day. When questioned the state admitted they were reclassifying previous deaths as caused by COVID-19. No criteria were given. In reality the number of daily deaths has dropped dramatically.

So, a person battling Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, who y chance catches the Wuhu Flu, about the time they take their last breath, is classified as COVID-19 victim? That's very, very poor science at work, in fact, it sounds like typical government bureaucracy, "job justification."

“Flatten the curve”...bullstuff! One must assume a significant curve to flatten. There is no curve as predicted because there never was one if calculations were based on accurate data and the modeling honest.

Adding to what Birx says here; the IHME model for the US now says peak day will be earlier, on April 11. And the projected deaths fell again. And their methods are again adjusted. The IHME model is from the University Of Washington and seems to be the most widely used. Find it at http://www.healthdata.org/about.
I'm not knocking Birx or the IHME. They have both been working from the best information they can get. But this CPVID-19 epidemic has certainly revealed that the data has not been very good. Politics, incompetence, bureaucracy, means, and spin prevail.

I can't believe Dr.? Birx actually admitting they are "cooking the books" to inflate the number of deaths of this disease. The normal flu is much more deadly, and we have to listen to Birx and Fauci attempt to continue this lock down. They are both tied to Bill Gates who thinks we should all be vaccinated and tracked. (Gates is also on record numerous times wanting to cut the world population down to 500 million.) They and Big Pharma want to make billions. They don't like it when DJT pushes the cheaper and better Hydroxychloroquine, there is no money in it for them. Evil evil conning people.

Not clear if she is endorsing the practice, or just reporting the practice.
Practically, it may be very difficult to decide which was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. For very sick people, with multiple diseases and chronic conditions....it doesn't take much some times. For my father in law, we never quite knew what took him from healthy, smiling, walking and talking one day to a hospitalized unresponsive man who would be dead in two weeks. MRI showed no stroke, docs couldn't say what had happened. Just BOOM. Sometimes it doesn't take much.

Cause of death has always been in the 'eye of the beholder'...nothing new except it seems the Stench of Politics is not infesting the records.
