The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has walked back its decision to furlough nearly 100 members of the symphony orchestra despite receiving a $25 million federal bailout, a move that prompted the affected musicians to file a lawsuit against the performing arts center. According to The Washington Free Beacon, the center has offered the musicians pay cuts and a wage freeze instead of furloughs, and the union representing the orchestra’s musicians has, in turn, decided to drop a lawsuit against the center for allegedly violating a contract, which prohibits layoffs without six weeks notice.

When there is a Rep-controlled House, the Kennedy Center should have to document how the money was used. Was it laundered to Dems?

Yes, #4, I am too concerned about our country now to just brush off ANOTHER porkapalooza bill. The Kennedy Center money was inexcuseable but so is extra funding in the millions for Congressional staffing needs.

A portion of relief funds for the Kennedy Center was for the DNC. They had to lay off the orchestra to make that happen. It's a vicious cycle when you're on a hook with the Democrats.

How does the rest of America benefit from Kennedy Center? Why are they any different from the symphonies, operas and ballet in the rest Of the country? Shut the place down. OF split the 25 million between the rest of the art scene in the country

It should be the last time the Kennedy Center gets Government funds. What is the amount of their endowments? The are just like universities - poor mouth it and charge top dollar. They surely are not in need of my taxpayer money.

Leave it to liberal elite to screw over the people who provide the actual product when they get a chance. One might guess whose pockets that musician money would go into if the musicians were stiffed. Pelosi could care less.

The Kennedy Center is deep in debt and is struggling to stay afloat. The Kennedy Center board should be investigated for malfeasance for their mishandling and squandering of the millions of $$$ they control. The $25 Million they were granted continues to hide their incompetence.

Now more than ever we should be fiscally responsible. Funding the Kennedy Center is not responsible. It is the very opposite of responsible. We should not be funding anything that does not benefit the entire country. If the elites in Washington want an arts center, let them pay for it. There is more than enough money in that corrupt city to fund five performing arts center. They just do not want to spend their money to do so. They want to force everyone else to fund something they will never get any benefit from and that is wrong. Put your money where your mouth is Washington. Flyover country is tired of bankrolling a place where you can dress up and have a night on the town.

They should have to apply for the loans just like any other business and go by the rules. I believe you must use 75% for employees.

If we had to threaten them to get them to pay their people then we should cut the funds back and direct it be for paying only their folks.
