U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres this week called for a “large-scale” international response to the global coronavirus crisis, consisting of 10 percent of global GDP -- and promising that the U.N. is “fully mobilized” to support such an effort.
“What is needed is a large-scale, coordinated and comprehensive multilateral response amounting to at least 10 percent of global GDP,” he said in remarks at the launch of a report on the socioeconomic impacts of the virus.
As USUAL, gimme, gimme, gimme other person's hard earned money. Perhaps another positive result of this Covid madness will be a significant downsizing of the entire fraud that is the UN.

What’s that canard about not wasting a crisis? We’ll get to all this if we ever crawl out from under our bed.

10 percent. A pittance. He should have demanded 50 percent. It's for the children.

The UN is mobilized? The UN has no people, no money, nothing, except for the dues that go to the bureaucrats for their salaries and luxuries. Thanks for the laugh, Mr. Guterres.

Absolutely NO! Why would anyone give money to the most worthless and corrupt organization on the planet?

I suggest they send the bill to China. They are responsible for this mess caused by their cover up. And they may even be
responsible for creating the virus itself in on of the two labs in Wuhan Province. If that turns out to be true the I suggest the rest of the world deliver the tab to President Xi

If the UN were effective, they would have seen this coming and warned the world. As usual, they were caught flat footed. Never in the course of human events has an organization been so useless.

A "fully mobilized" UN means they are standing there with both hands open. Recall what the democrats wanted to do with their 2.2 trillion dollar stimulus proposal and multiply that by ten. Presto, you have the UN.

Just what we need in a crisis. The useless UN and a lot of wealthy do nothing bureaucrats made wealthier by the little people. No thanks. What you need is a good caning. All of you.

How about this UN? How about you give up all your normal perks and contribute the monies saved towards that effort instead of demanding the rest of the world give you more to waste?

Why does everything that happens in the world require the UN to take other peoples money and resources, as if they have a right to do it?

Suuurrrrrreeee.
Let's see, the US generates 25% of GDP so we would foot 25% of the bill. World GDP is about $80 trillion x 10% x 25% = $2 trillion.
How much was it they wanted us to shell out for GoBull warming? A couple trillion? These worms are just extortionists. If it's not one scheme it's another. I think we should stop paying for and shutdown the UN. They have reached the point (a long time ago) of useless absurdity. That would be $3 billion saved to help out the world, probably the best thing they have done in forever.

Close the churches during Lent and Easter, while calling for the world to tithe to the U.N. ?
My response to Guterres is, "Bless yer heart, Tony; [what V.P. Cheney said to Sen. Leahy]."
