New York City hospitals will run out of ventilators by Wednesday at the latest, Mayor Bill de Blasio warned on Sunday during his coronavirus briefing. ‘We have bought a few more days here,’ the mayor told reporters at City Hall on Sunday. ‘We believe now we can get to Tuesday or Wednesday with the supplies we have.’ The mayor added: ‘I want to be clear, it only means a few more days, nothing more I can guarantee beyond that.’ According to de Blasio, the city has 135 ventilators in reserve. The mayor said the city needs between 1,000 and 1,500 more to get through next week.

According to the Governor, when asked why he wanted 110,000 beds when only 16,000 are in use, they don't really need beds, just ventilators and staff. The problem with ventilators is that if you are sick enough for a ventilator, you only have a 20% chance of survival.

Oh well, there is one BIG upside. If Blah's prediction comes true, he can always say TRUMP has the blood of New Yorkers on his hands. But then, he's going to say that whatever happens, even if the virus were to disappear overnight and all the patients got up and walked home.

Did Cuomo and him say they needed some ridiculous number of ventilators (like 45,000??). Trump held back, because he (Trump) know they didn't need that many. I bet 1,000 ventilators show up this week from the Fed Gov (it is called just in time delivery). I also suspect the Admiral in charge of the logistics knows exactly how many ventilators are there, how many are needed, and how many are being stashed away by the NY Gov to stock up for next time (it is a game that is well played in the military - I know, I am guilty as charged).

I think that the time has come that the public gets as close to an accurate accounting of just how many people who test positive actually need to be admitted to a hospital and of those how many deteriorated to the point of needing to be ventilated. Are any of the new drug protocols being used in these hospitals? I've read reports from two doctors in NYC who were treating patients with the drugs and all their patients avoided hospitalization. Also...are the Covid-19 deaths being reported actually caused by that disease (severe lung involvement) or was it simply present in those who died? DiBlasio sounds like Pritzker in Illinois. "We NEED more ventilators!!" I've heard Trump say, repeatedly, to call the task force. Why go screaming all over the Sunday shows? I also saw that both Illinois and New York had a drop in new cases yesterday a very small but hopeful sign. Here in Illinois, rather than give anyone even a little smidgen of hope, they told us all to braces ourselves for "thousands more dying in the coming weeks." How about a few words about the hundreds of thousands who are surviving?

Talk with your idiot governor and begin prescribing hydroxychloroquine at the onset of symptoms. Then you won't have so many patients that require a ventilator.

New York's hospital admissions plummeted yesterday by 50%. Deaths have dropped for two days. The hospitals are bending, but not breaking. The only problem is that some are crowded while others not so much or at all. Lots of false hysteria. Remember, a few days ago DiBlasio and Cuomo both were raving that we were two days from our hospitals busting at the seams. Now he says four more days . . . It appears it may not matter now, but DiBlasio wasted the 1,000-bed Navy ship sitting in the Hudson River. As of yesterday, maybe twenty (20!) non-Corona patients had been transferred from the city's hospitals to the ship, even though it had been claimed the hospitals desperately needed space for virus patients. DiBlasio's health flac blamed the Navy. Uh, I suspect the US Navy is more efficient than his crew. The hospitals yesterday reported a big JUMP in patients being discharged successfully (creating more space.) In response to earlier posters, NYC hospitals started dosing with Hydrochloroquine pretty quickly after the doctors at Lenox Hill -- one of the best in the world -- started promoting it aggressively, including through two appearances on (gasp!) Fox TV. I believe DiBlasio's alarmist theatrics (and Cuomo's, to some degree) are attempts to get as much face time, and to appear as relevant to the process, as possible. Hopefully good news for America. Bad news for evil purveyors of dread like Brian Stelter of CNN.

Aides to President Biden hurried the traveling press corps away as they shouted questions at an unresponsive commander-in-chief in Washington Tuesday—his 48th day in office without holding a solo press conference. The incident occurred toward the end of a visit by Biden to W.S. After quietly watching Biden interact with store owners and employees for about 10 minutes, reporters began shouting a series of questions at him to no avail. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred.
