Americans can’t wait for the restrictions on their movements and interactions—widely known as social distancing—to end.
That’s completely understandable. The coronavirus crisis has widely disrupted modern life.
But as we learned Sunday, the Trump administration’s commonsense “stop the spread” increased mitigation strategy is with us for a while—at least till the end of April.
Based on the challenges we’re facing, this is a prudent decision.
While a firm date for the end of this biological battle in the United States is just unknowable at this point, it’s reasonable to ask: How will we know when we’re seeing some light at the end of the social distancing tunnel?

President Trump needs to provide the people of the U.S. a plan on how we are going to recover economically. From what I have been reading, President Trump said the worst will come in the next two weeks. We have about 5,000 that died of the virus nationally, so I'm to understand that 88,000 will die in the next two weeks (new model predicts 93,000 will die). The numbers are not adding up. I suggest that the President bring in some new people to assess this situation. The new model shows 93,000 in the U.S. will die which is no more than a bad year for the flu. Please will someone explain to me how this is a pandemic?

If you want to get the best advice available to you right now, go to Rush's website and read what he discussed on the economy yesterday. It will put everything in perspective. It takes a while to read, but it's worth every minute. I hope President Trump reads it as well!

Two things: First, "social distancing" are ALREADY the most overused words of the year and it's only April 2nd. Second, how sad that there are tutorials out there on how and when to wash your hands. If I didn't wash my hands before eating, momma would have torn up my rear end...

#1: That’s not the way it works. “The worst will come in two weeks” means the peak number of deaths-per-day is expected to occur then. The number of deaths-per-day should start declining after that. If the curve were symmetric, you would expect half the expected deaths to have occurred when you hit the peak, 46,500 in your case. But the curve is not symmetric. The tail is longer and dies off slower than the head. I don’t know the exact shape of their expected curve, but I’m guessing that the number of deaths at the “peak” might be 35,000.

As someone elsewhere noted:
1) They won't talk about it but the pols must know that there is a cutoff date for people's patience with and/or ability to stay home.
2) Compliance is voluntary because it must be - posse comitatus, tradition, and practicality would prevent any of this military lockdown/martial law/East Germany nonsense being pushed by fantasists. Guardsmen are civilians in peace, soldiers in war. We aren't at war and US soil isn't a battlefield.
3) Like it or not at least one lawyer is going to ask for legal justification. Emergency powers statutes are a tiny sliver of state codes and mostly deal with fires, floods, storms - localized problems. Not the entire state. And somewhere a judge is going to agree that categorical, indefinite orders are not up to scratch legally.

#3 Our local clinic has cut their days of operation because nobody is coming in. They have had no Wuhon flu cases, same for the two rural local hospitals.
This country can't stay on lock down forever but the virus can stay around forever. The infected, weak and vulnerable need to stay home and be serviced not everyone stay home. If we wait around a year and a half for the vaccine---well we just can't do that.

Actually, it will all end when government workers stop getting full pay and benefits as this keeps merrily rolling along. Seriously, why are THEY continuing to get regular paychecks? It's like an indefinite vacation with full pay. I'm not talking about police and fire personnel. Time to triage government jobs into essential (paid) and unessential (not paid).
When politicians and bureaucrats have to stand in line for their unemployment checks and food stamps with everyone else, this indefinite quarantine is going to get a definite schedule for ending no matter how many people are dying.

A. Mid April onward will allow restaurants to serve outside when weather permits. Will need to good supply alcohol, based table & chair & tray cleaners with customers given disinfectant wipe packets. Restaurants will need to remove some tables inside to create space, but at least they will be able to reopen.
B. The use of fne common “pen”attached to the credit card machine has to stop. Same with signing for prescription drugs at a CVS.
C. If a vacine is created, what happens when only 50% of population (or less) get the shot? And, will the vacine cover all predicted strains of the next Wuhan flu?
D. Finally, only 45% of people washed their hands after using bathrooms. If this percentage moves to 60%,is that enough? A large percentage of are citizens are pigs, so how do we overcome this going forward?

#9, this seems to be the case in our area (not NYC for sure). I've had two Dr. appointments and one lab session in the last three weeks and not one of these places were in emergency, double secret, wildfire-type (see Andromeda Strain) environments. Prudent measures were being observed and that's about it. What do they know that the hand-wringer media refuse to tell us?

Please excuse this second post, but I wanted to share an observation about the daily statistics (Johns Hopkins site).
As of yesterday:
Only 1 state (NY) has more than 1,000 deaths from Covid19.
Only 9 states have more than 100.
16 states have 10 or fewer deaths.
Somebody please explain to me why this should be solemnly treated as the most deadly plague ever, with our entire economy shut down indefinitely and everyone locked down.

I figure this "crisis" is just a trial run for the real shutdow and stuff. The day Trump leaves office is the day it will happen. And since Americans have had practice then it should go very smoothly.

Japan has shut NOTHING down but everyone who goes outside wears a mask. And, they have fewer deaths than most other countries. Over 10 million Americans filed for unemployment in less than two weeks. This article is useless, interesting copy but useless. Businesses are going bankrupt. Whiting Oil, one of the biggest in fracking just filed for bankruptcy. The Bakken in ND and all the oil fields in Texas have stopped, not slowed, stopped while Russia and the heads o' rags flood the markets with their oil, not giving a rip how that will kill their own citizens. Airlines have slowed to a point where they will soon be out of business. The world's economic engine is stopped, period, and no one has any idea when it will end. We've stopped over pandemic models, not actual numbers. The WHO is the Chicom mouthpiece and they have been one hundred percent wrong with every single word they've said about the Chicom virus yet they still have one hundred percent credibility. And, here's the four things we need to see before it's over? Really? Guess what? Right now, if this continues, there'll be ZERO signs that this is over, but there'll be a hell of a lot more deaths because of this worldwide one size fits all, panic based solution. Candace Owens' interview on Beck this morning is spot on right and I would add that the Chicoms are winning and winning BIGLY in their war against us. They are conquering us without firing a shot and we're begging them to do more and do it as much as possible.

Seriously? Those four things are what happens when you are dealing with sane & rational people.
The Dems, the Left, the Progressives, the main-stream media, etc., are insane. This "virus crisis" will NOT go away --- ever --- unless the Dems take back total control of the House, Senate and POTUS. Only then will everything "return to normal" and there will be no more panic. Just like the national homeless crisis disappeared magically when Obama was elected (and returned in horror when Trump took the reins) so it will be here in this case as well.
Should Trump win again in November --- and we take back the House and hold the Senate --- it will not be "safe" in America! It will never be safe in the USA as long as Trump is POTUS. Doesn't anyone get it?
Basically, the not-so-hidden mantra is that we are all going to die unless and until the Dems are in control again. Period.

Social distancing will end..eventually. -but millions of jobs won't come back; there will be bankruptcies and foreclosures. The Japanese didn't succeed in WW II but this will take us down in months. It could be October 1929 all over again.

I think that the Fauci brigade is going to do everything in its power to prevent Trump from opening up even part of the country by mid April or end of the month. He is way too gleeful about keeping us shut down, and he is ignoring the deaths from economic destruction he is wrecking on this nation. Yes, Dr. Fauci and to some extent Birx, are responsible for all the suicides, and the media helped them. Rush had the first three months of the year numbers listed yesterday on his show. Almost a qtr million suicides so far can be laid at the two ghouls feet. CV? barely a blip on the radar screen compared to the deaths by suicide, the normal flu and so on. When does it end for these people?
Another thing to consider is how they are misrepresenting the term Pandemic. Pandemic simply means that this virus is operating in more than one nation right now. Has ZERO to do with numbers. Just more than one nation. But the media and Fauci are deliberately using the pandemic word instead of the more correct term epidemic, because pandemic sounds so much more scary doesn't it. Hope that helps #1 and others.
