President Trump is redefining himself as a wartime president, boldly acting to sweep away obstacles and mobilizing government and business to fight together to get us up to speed in overcoming a threat that nobody anticipated. Yesterday’s White House press briefing, held outdoors in the sunny weather, intensified the frenzy of TDS-addled media and other Democrats. President Trump’s effectiveness -- in reforming regulatory and bureaucratic roadblocks and mobilizing vastly increased production of necessary medical equipment in short supply -- was on display

I actually got tears in my eyes as one company after another came forward and told America how they are willing to help. We don't need any executive orders to force companies to produce what is needed. They are Americans first and CEO's second. Bravo Mr President for getting rid of some of the government red tape to make this happen.

There is NO doubt that Trump is in charge and OWNS the media. It is also clear that we are ramping up rapidly and within a couple weeks it feels like we will have significant testing capability in place, we will have a lot of masks and other PPE, and we will have a better idea if some of the new treatments are working. We are establishing capacity for ventilators but that will take longer to reach sufficient levels. There is no way to address many years of neglect overnight.
An important thing to note is that is mostly up to the STATES to stockpile for medical emergencies and many of them were warned they were unprepared and did little to address it. They are trying to demand that the federal government fix their failures. Trump is pushing back saying, "You try to do the job you should have been doing all along and we will try to help if we can. People like Cuomo are trying to dodge their own responsibility. He and his state addressed the shortfall by establishing a panel who would decide who would die when supplies were insufficient, i.e. death panels to ration care, the classic socialist response to socialized medicine supply shortages that the socialist system creates in the first place.
Trump is not only making amazing progress but is also exposing dems/media/Left worthlessness, incompetence, and vileness. Both things are of enormous value to the nation.

It's just beyond me why these nitwits in the useless media think the east coast is the entirety of America. Does it EVER go through their thick heads that there is actually life between the Atlantic and Pacific? Well, believe me you morons, there IS, and we're listening and watching your attempts to destroy our President and country. Can't wait for November.

There was a very significant bit of news in this article that I have not yet seen anywhere else. Namely, that the U.S. has now tested over 1,000,000 people (the most in the world). That is an incredibly important statistic that finally gives us a much better picture of the current spread of the virus here.
Going to the Johns Hopkins site, I ran a few numbers. This means that this virus thus far ihas had an infection rate of approximately 16% of our population (161,807 confirmed cases, as of yesterday, divided by 1,000,000), and a net death rate of approximately 0.3% (2,978 deaths, divided by 1,000,000). Its "lethality rate" (percentage who die IF they get infected) is about 1.8%.
So your chances of getting it are much less than 1% and your chances of dying if you do happen to get it are less than 2%. I'm sure these figures will evolve in the coming days/weeks, but at least we are starting to get real data that our leaders can use to decide whether the extreme measures we are taking are appropriate, and if so for how much longer.

#3, we already have "significant testing capability in place". We have tested over one million people already at the end of yesterday, and accelerating rapidly.
Of course, the Enemedia refuse to report this, so few are aware of it. Only hear the media complaints, which are pretty outdated, as is everything from even a week ago, ancient history.

Trump is right that "snarky" questions like the one about what he said previously are pointless. The purpose of these briefings is to talk about what is being done now. If they think something that is being done now is not enough or there is something else that should be done, ask about it. But what was done in January or February is irrelevant here. They are free to write about it on their own (which the liberal media are doing all the time). They don't need a response from the President to a "gotcha" question.

I know this from a small (very small) business perspective. You Support The Community That Supports You, Your employees, your suppliers and your friends. You don't have to do a lot but you do what you can. You do not do it as a business "calculation" you do it because it's right.
The "Press" are in trouble right now (bankrupt NYT ?) because they scoff at the above.
