The National Rifle Association has dubbed New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy “freedom-hating” after he defended keeping his armed guards despite closing gun stores as “nonessential” businesses due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The NRA highlighted a moment from Mr. Murphy’s press conference Wednesday when he was confronted by a man who pointed out that the Democratic governor still enjoys Second Amendment protection while many New Jersey residents no longer can.(Snip) The man told the governor, “The poorest minorities living in the most dangerous cities with the highest crime rates now have absolutely no way of buying a firearm. I lived in Newark

This should be of no surprise to anyone with an IQ over the Democrat average.

This is your present and future if you don't vote for Conservatives who believe in strict adherence to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Jersey is lost. It's Fidel Murphy.

armed guards to keep citizens from protecting themselves PRESIDENT Trump knows these are very venerable times. Seems this democrat governor know this. blocking a right of the people makes one wonder. Will be interesting to see if other democrat governors do this.

a democrat governor blocking the peoples right to bear arms, with armed guards. PRESIDENT Trump knows that this is a very venerable time for this country. I think this is why he did not close gun stores. Makes me wonder what this governor knows or is hoping for. Will be interesting to see if other governors do this.

OP nails it. They are VERY IMPORTANT, and all of us poor despicables out here can go straight to Hades, they don't want us to be able to defend ourselves. And they don't care the slightest if some illegal were to kill or rape an ordinary person - proven by their actions, not only their words.

Can someone please explain to this moron what "Public Servitude" is? Your employers, the citizens of N.J., have inalienable rights laid out in the U,S, Constitution that supercede whatever decree you decide to trumpet from the "People's House" you reside in.
Servants are not entitled to more rights than their employers. Maybe bulldozing the Governor's Mansion. and focing this dweeb to go back toliving amongst the peons who put him in office may make him understand where he isin the pecking order.

Having escaped NJ many years ago I hadn't paid attention to Murphy. The video highlights the pompous elitist he is. How could voters not see this? Is there some gene missing from the Democrat voters' DNA?
I saw the same arrogance in Obama when he was running.

If things are as bad as it's being portrayed, the government should be handing out arms from National Guard, police, and Army Reserve armories.

Yeah, hypocrisy and oppression. You still haven't explained why keeping armed guards while closing gun shops is just. How about sending all your citizens a copy of Animal Farm, to help them understand what's going on.

#14, 19, you are looking at this all wrong. I vote in every NY election, just for the satisfaction that my vote cancels Schumer's. It is a small victory, but it brings me a unique joy. Also, my vote does count the closer it gets to my local 'lawmaker.'
