Governors should focus on tackling coronavirus rather than shift blame

Original Article

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo called on the federal government to take control of the medical supply market. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker demanded that President Trump take charge and said “precious months” were wasted waiting for federal action. Some critics are even more direct in demanding a federal takeover, including a national quarantine. It is the legal version of panic shopping. Many seem to long for federal takeovers, if not martial law. Yet like all panic shopping, they are buying into far more than they need while not doing as much as they could with what they have.

The fascism is strong in these Democrats and enemedia who routinely complain about asserted but not evident fascism in President Trump. He frustrates them no end with his even-handed and non-Hitler-like actions.

Well, of course they should, but that would require them to be competent, caring leaders. And few Dems are either competent or caring and almost none are leaders.

Cuomo using percentages to describe how much others got and NY got short changed. He compared Wyoming, the lowest population in the states, to NY, one of the most populated states only got 5 billion dollars for aid. Wyoming only got millions that amounted to 17% of their budget. Five billion was one 1.4% of NY budget.

Yeah, NY didn't get a significant portion of its grossly bloated budgets from the aid package. It's a similar thing to what happened when the tax cuts went through and state income taxes were deduction capped. States that overtaxed their citizens could no longer pass all of it over to the federal government. That was one of the most brilliant moves that I have seen. In addition, Cuomo who deeply underprepared his state for this pandemic by creating death panels instead of buying ventilators wants Trump to bail him out by buying the ventilators and other supplies. Then when they are delayed because of shortages, it will be Trump's fault. Dems are never responsibility for their incompetence and the games they play.

Chutzpa at its finest. Demonrats didn't care about the Coronavirus in Jan because they were too busy attempting to impeach the president. That took priority. Demonrats would like nothing better than to nationalize every single business in the USA as it would fit their communist agenda. The two whining demonrat governors. In the last medical crisis, Cuomo's answer was a Death Panel to decide who lived and who died. He took out his entire stock of ventilators then refused to spend a single penny to restock it. He was offered ventilators at a discount price and declined. The 4000 the goobermint recently sent him went straight to storage because he "had no need for them". Now he's whining that NYC isn't getting enough money from the $2.2T bailout. To date, no one has looked into the IL governor's activities. I suspect it's the same as any demonrat governor.

The governors who do the most squawking are the incompetent ones who are incapable of dealing with a crisis. So they call for Daddy, the Feds, to take charge. Cuomo, Pritzker, Inslee are front and center asking to be rescued, and they are the ones who are the nastiest critics of Trump. After watching Trump on Sunday's briefing, I asked my wife if she could imagine what it would be like if instead of Trump it were Hilary, Biden, Warren, Harris or even Obama and any Democrat bozo standing up there. Trump and his appointees are the only adults in the room and he has the managerial skills to pull us through this crisis.

A densely populated neighbor of China, Vietnam has a weak health care system and a low budget for combating the coronavirus. So how has it managed to keep its COVID-19 infection rate so low? As the coronavirus pandemic rages in wealthy European countries, more than 10,000 kilometers (6,000 miles) from China where the outbreak began, Vietnam has widely been spared. In Germany alone, the latest numbers from the World Health Organization (WHO) show more than 30,000 people have been infected with COVID-19, resulting in 149 fatalities.

The Trump administration unsealed sweeping indictments against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and members of his inner circle on narco-terrorism charges on Thursday, a move that dramatically escalates the U.S. bid to force the authoritarian socialist from power. The indictment, which officials said was a decade in the making, comes as supporters of the U.S.-backed Venezuelan opposition movement to oust Maduro is fading, particularly as the outbreak of the coronavirus has effectively halted calls for citizens to turnout in the streets.

Congress must censure Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for threatening two Supreme Court justices outside the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday. This should be wholly bipartisan and utterly uncontroversial. No American, no less a high-ranking member of Congress like Schumer, should be permitted to threaten government officials or judges. This type of thuggish behavior displayed by the senior U.S. senator has no place in a civilized society and must be condemned by all.

As the House and Senate continue their struggle over the coming Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, a federal judge in Washington issued an opinion that was largely lost in the crush of New Year’s stories. The opinion could loom large in the trial, however, and one line in particular may be repeated like a mantra by the Trump defense team: “The House clearly has no intention of pursuing” the witness.

No one can be sure what her intent is. I'm not sure she even knows but her decision to wait before transmitting the articles of impeachment to the Senate is setting a bad precedent that puts politics ahead of the U.S. Constitution. For all the work that's gone into addressing the charges against President Donald Trump, it's hard to argue they rise to the level of impeachable offenses.

The Duke of Sussex, 35, who decided to step back from the limelight with Meghan Markle, 38, and 10-month-old Archie after being subjected to intense scrutiny which brought back painful memories of Princess Diana's death, is said to have been apologetic about giving up his post as Captain General of The Royal Marines. A Rhode Island public school teacher perhaps gave that chestnut a new meaning by allegedly taking to Twitter with an offer to pay someone infected with COVID-19 to cough on President Trump. The educator in question, who has subsequently deactivated her Twitter account that purportedly operated anonymously under the handle “Proud Teacher,” is said to teach English as a Second Language to middle schoolers. She previously taught in neighboring Massachusetts.
