The Detroit News’ Kathy Hoekstra reports that Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has sent a letter to all physicians and pharmacists in the state warning of “professional consequences” if they prescribe or dispense hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine to treat coronavirus patients. Hoekstra writes that “beyond the rational recommendation against hoarding as production of this medication needs to be ramped up, the letter deviates into open threats (snip)

She's the Gov of my State. I cannot believe that she threatened doctors who are just trying to do their job with what they have available. If I were a doctor and I could get my hands on the drugs that could save my patient, I'd use them and take the consequences then go to directly to the President.

It would be ironic if she got covid19 and the doctor told her he would have been able to save her, but some fool banned the one thing that could keep her alive.

First Nevada, now Michigan. What is wrong with these governors? I thought the politicians were supposed to let the doctors do the doctoring. At least that's what they said when President Trump even mentions anything medical-related.

Perhaps Whitmer reasoned that if enough Michiganders were to live through a bout of the Coronavirus it might help Trump in November.

Since the FDA has approved the use of these drugs under these circumstances, does a governor have the legal authority to ban them. I thing she has just shown to the world what an authoritarian moron she is.

One thing is for sure, if this Democrat Governor attempts to pull the medical licenses of certain doctors, and the matter is then taken up in a court, if the judge hearing the matter has a close relative who tests positive for the virus, this Governor will come up short in that court big time!

Meanwhile, Dear Wife, struggling with severe autoimmune diseases, has been on this for more than 20 years. But we have been informed that the cost is skyrocketing to the point at which we may be unable to afford it. Progress for some, I guess, but not for all.
By the way, the warnings about the side effects on vision are quite correct. We know.

I love when rising stars in the "democrat" party destroy their political career in one move. I would love to see President Trump verbally berate her and the gov in Nev and declare by executive privilege in state of emergency that their declarations are "null and void" and if they interfere with doctor and pharmacist prescribing this for Corona that these officials will be arresting by Federal authorities! Wouldn't that be fun to watch? Yea boy!

Further proof tget TDS is a serious mental disorder and deranged people like this idiot governor would much rather you die than try a treatment which they haven't approved, and especially anything which Trump thinks might work.
It may still turn out that this stuff doesn't really help, but an idiot politician getting between a patient and a doc for purely political reasons in really dangerous, ABSOLUTELY unacceptable.
I would never have believed that this was possible. The Demonrats never cease to be more evil than I could imagine them being.

A Republican President touts evidence that a certain drug appears to be working against this virus.
Then Democrat Governors ban the use of this medicine in their states.
Why?
What the hell is wrong with these people ------------are they insane.
TDS is a rough ailment but ---Damn---this is crazy.

I truly hope come November that this backfires - without having killed her constituents. I can assure you that doctors don't answer to her and they will simply ignore her foolishness if the drugs are available.

Check her bank accounts over the next year and look for that one big undocumented deposit. Democrats need to keep this thing going for a much longer time than predicted because it's more powerful than their silly impeachment attempt.

I have an acquaintance who has Rheumatoid Arthritis and this drug allows her to lead a normal life. She has a 45 day supply at home and cannot find any more. She's had a prescription for years. The same jerks who are hoarding toilet paper, paper towels and eggs are now hoarding drugs. I am ashamed of my fellow Americans.

I think that everyone needs to take a deep breath and think about this. She has not banned the use of this drug. If you had read the actual agency memo, you would know that. She is trying to protect the supply of this medication. If she allowed every doctor in the state to write a prescription for any patient whether they were sick or not, what do you think would happen? Would there be a run on this medication? Can you buy hand sanitizer or n95 face masks right now? No you can't because demand has been too great. She does have to protect the other people who rely on this medicine for other diseases. That Governor of Nevada also did not ban this drug, he has reserved it for people who are in the hospital ( presumably fighting for their lives). If you had read his order, you would have know that. What really surprises me is how easily people are manipulated by news headlines that are misleading, or articles that are quoted out of context. It is also sad to see how many people cannot think about a problem rationally. For the record, I am a conservative republican living in Michigan, and I did not vote for Gretchen Whitmer.

She needs to be politically punished for this. Career obscurity, and possible prosecution for upcoming deaths should be on the docket for her. Hatred of a president is no excuse for punishing your state's residents like this. One more face of the democrat death cult party.

A doc in Ok gave the drugs to 32 victims of coronavirus. All 32 patients lived. What's wrong with giving the drugs to the victims that want it. Trump's executive order said that's OK to give experimental drugs to patients that are willing to try them.

When you read about the congestion at Wayne County and Oakland County hospitals, remember this. Prescribing a drug combination that cuts hospital stays from 10-20 days to 4-6 is now illegal and punishable.
