WASHINGTON — President Trump on Friday signed into law a historic $2.2 trillion coronavirus rescue package, the largest stimulus deal in United States history, as the pandemic devastates the nation’s economy and sickens thousands.“This will deliver urgently needed relief to our nation’s families, workers and businesses and that’s what this is all about,” Trump said in the Oval Office flanked by GOP lawmakers and administration officials.“I want to thank Republicans and Democrats for coming together, setting aside their differences and putting America first,” he added

Yay. But he had no choice, assuming he didn't want to do this.

A travesty.
How does the feddrill goobermint come up with trillions of dollars all of sudden? Who is going to pay for this? Where does the money come from? Am I the only taxpayer who cares about this?
Need money? Apply for unemployment, an existing assistance program. Laid-off people are applying for unemployment in record numbers, I read. An existing assistance program.

Come on man! Here's the Deal -- I was the one who got this done this done. I voted for it, not three times but on four occasions.... I worked across the aisle and got this done. More than that, I beat the NRA again!

A more tone deaf event is hard for me to remember. The celebratory back slapping, pens sharing was way out of line considering the soberness of our situation. Why was Mitch’s wife there?

How soon before the Demonrat Socialist/RINO party comes back with their hands out???
If they can prolong this "crisis" it won't be long, and we will get EVEN MORE Pork that has to be added on--
I guess socialism is okay just as long as there is a "Corona Virus" around--
Rather disgusted that those who decry big government spending and pork fell silent against it--
Senator Cruz gave a great speech-- but in the end, even HE voted as part of the 96 Senators.
VERY FEW would have been against a CLEAN bill, but by allowing all the PORK, my faith in the republican party is severely weakenen.
And like NobamaCare, this legislation came from the Senate, and NOT the House as the Constitution requires.
Time for either TERM LIMITS or a THIRD party of disgruntled republicans who have been sold out--

Son of Porkulus lives!
Know what would really work? Reopening America! Its becoming increasingly doubtful that will happen any time soon. Especially if we keep trying to make super bugs the new normal. Especially if we keep listening to doctors and their worst case scenarios.

At some point compromise is vital to success, and it amounts to demanding more that you think you need or want, but be willing to accept less than you ask for, unless you're the Alpha Dog.

They said 2T, now that it passes we have been scraped for another .2T. We noticed, but it don't matter, the money has been approved. This thing was to help those impacted. Then it became helping all those earning below a certain income, and payments for each of their children. We had shutdowns for a month or so, but unemployment approved for 4 months, even before the states have used any of the unemployment funds they already have, plus an additional $600 per week. They won't raise the taxes, will print the money, and take it from our pockets stealthily with inflation.

I want to personally thank my grandkids for sacrificing their future so I might get a whopping $1200. I also want to thank the GOP for once again agreeing with the Left that screwing the public is cause for celebrating. To the POTUS, I am disappointed in you this time, very disappointed, but not surprised. I just have to be thankful you are better than the alternative.

I respect the President but maybe Yang's deal made more sense. Two trillion dollars and a good portion of the country not working. Who fills the coffers to pay for all of it? Certainly not illegals and those sucking welfare dry.
