The Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reportedly plans to launch multiple investigations into the Trump administration’s coronavirus response, in part because of another whistleblower complaint.
“A spokesperson for the HHS inspector general [said] that investigators will carry out at least five reviews ‘related to HHS’s planning and response of the COVID-19 outbreak,'” the Washington Examiner reported Wednesday.
“The inquiries will scrutinize issues such as nationwide hospital responses, quarantine procedures, the training and protective gear provided to front-line health workers, nursing home standards amid a disease with an exponentially more deadly effect on the elderly and the already ill,

I hope (but am not confident) that this "investigation" exposes the utter incompetence of career bureaucrats in the NIH, FDA, and CDC, as well as the criminal negligence of the World Health Organization.

Great news. I wonder who will be held responsible for not refilling pandemic supplies when they were looted during the LAST administration. Let's go down THAT road.

This might be a good thing if it flushes out the remaining Obama worshipers within the organization. It certainly appears that the HHS/CDC people were more concerned about obesity, vaping, and gun violence than they were about preparing for a disastrous epidemic.

Don't ever let Democrats forget that they forced all 100 Senators to stay on the Senate floor for frivolous impeachment games during January and February, at the worst possible time in history.

Oooh, Shifty is sending the congressional cleaning crew down to the SCIF so he can decontaiminate it for his next secret impeachment inquiry. He needs to get a few more phone records from AT&T on his opponents.

The crisis is in progress. These jackwagons should wait and allow the administration to get past the crisis before 'opening investigations'. What purpose does this serve to make these announcement now?

I think if there is anyone in the Trump Administration who can put a stop to his immediately, they should step forward and DO IT. Our country, and our President, should not have to go through another year of frivolous investigations. ENOUGH! If there is a Whistleblower, make him step forward. Lets see which Obama Holdover it is this time. I for one am sick and tired of protecting some Wuss who is going to hold the whole country hostage, again!

I can't believe we are paying for a 'Office of Inspector General' for every government department. We have the DOJ and that should suffice. This is getting very, very tiresome.

Actually, I think a review of this pandemic response is valuable for planning the next. The CDC rules implemented after h1n1 delayed testing. The ny decision to not respond to the recommendations of their own review panel borders on criminal negligence. All that said...we should not believe we can prepare for, fully staff, and support all exigencies that might come our way. Too much sitting idle.

The OIG for any department is supposed to police THEIR department. Thus they cannot go roaming around the White House as the previous “police” and their “whistleblowers” thought they could do. HHS is Ben Carson’s bailiwick. He is on the COVID-19 task force. This should get interesting.
BTW, here is the current (forever?) OIG for HHS:
Since 2004, Daniel R. Levinson has served as HHS's Inspector General, a presidentially appointed, nonpartisan position.
Non-partisan, my eye. And that matters no more when we have the Jebsters and the Bushies hanging about, #NeverTrumpers to the core.

The HHS IG can investigate HHS all he wants, but he has no authority to investigate the President’s executive decisions in a national emergency or and any other time. It’s pretty easy to Monday morning quarterback past decisions that were made based upon the information that was available at the time the decision was made, and not the expanded information available today or sometime in the future.

Well, I don’t know who the current HHS IG is. Levinson retired last year. His deputy, Chiedl, who had hung in until December also retired. Joined a law firm. There is no mention of anyone else. This is a silly article….

Thought they'd figure how how to "get" Trump in some way since his poll numbers are climbing.
But, they will likely find so many government break downs, particularly at the CDC, as this article points out.
https://www.propublica.org/article/internal-emails-show-how-chaos-at-the-cdc-slowed-the-early-response-to-coronavirus
This is the lead organization for the U.S., and they also coordinate with WHO, which told everyone in January it couldn't transmit by human-to-human contact (WRONG).
Trump declared a travel ban with China in just 10 days after the first cases came to the United States, and was criticized by many, particularly Democrat leadership and presidential candidates. How bad would it be if he hadn't? How many lives were saved?
How much has the constant "resistance" movement prevented many from occupying an office, or top-level position, who could have been helping?

Peach Fo Fi, Peach Fo Fi! If anybody had investigated the inept and corrupt actions of Barack Obama he would have been gone in his first year. He destroyed a working healthcare system gave billions of dollars to terrorists, green scams and actually started wars in foreign countries. Sometimes I think that a good civil war is the only thing that is going to rid us of leftists and idiots.

More hysterics for the Trump haters. Everyone else knows BS when they see it. The Trump Whitehouse should not cooperate with this. McConnell should not even entertain this in the Senate. Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, and the rest of the House Democrats should be ridiculed if they even try to take this seriously.
