Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam issued an executive order on Monday that is aimed at stopping the new coronavirus — and, in the process, makes it a criminal offense to hold a church service attended by more than 10 people. Yes, his order makes it a crime for more than 10 people to gather in a church. There are two passages in the text of the governor's order that are relevant to this.
Governor Black Face strikes again. Virginians, have you had enough yet?

Everyone in Virginia should violate his order and tell him where to go. That would make quite a statement.

Republicans... state and national - Virginia is RIPE for a total obliteration of the Democrat Party. President Trump needs to make a dozen rallies in the state before the election - start in June and pound all the communist takeover through the Virginia legislature that is encouraging average Virginians to leave for West Virginia - infanticide, Gun grab and now criminalizing going to church! It is ripe, Virginia republicans, don't squander this opportunity, you can have your state in less than 8 months.

One hallmark of any communist dictatorship revolution is they shut down the churches. The United States just did that in the name of public safety in a roundabout way. What has happened over the last few weeks really resembles a dictatorial takeover. The only thing that remains is if somebody tries to remove the President. Hope he's watching his back.

Not only should people be prepared to have large church services this weekend, they should also have the cameras ready so that we can see the faces of the boys in blue who’ll gleefully enforce the order. Am sick of the bullies in blue.

How about proposing that only relatively healthy younger people, say below age sixty without underlying severe risk factors attend church. People who know what they are talking about recognize that increasing heard immunity through allowing infection among the part of the population will conquer this pandemic. An effective vaccine is at least a year away, and that is too long. The gov. Of Va. has demonstrated over time that he is a stupid and despicable individual.

Because people who attend church are too simple and substandard that they need an already overbearing government to guide them. These obviously perilous times. Look for those wads in government to try to further split us.

Virginia, when is enough going to finally be enough for you folks? Now he is attacking Christians and to an extent God. He shows that he has no knowledge of God, or that when people make the effort to go to church, God will protect them. What a vile piece of manure this man is, and he doesn't care who knows it.

“We must obey God, rather than man.” —Acts 5:29.
Peter and certain brethren actually went to prison for that view.

Sorry, folks, but you're taking the wrong tack on this one. Our Lord said, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." It's been pretty much agreed that gatherings of more than 10 people pose an unacceptable risk of spreading COVID-19. We have more than enough technology at our fingertips to skype or conference one another until it's safe to gather in larger groups. Our family Easter dinner will be postponed until the danger of spreading the virus has diminished (there are 12 of us).
Martin Luther explained it well in a letter to a friend during the Black Death plague in the early 1500's:
“I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance inflict and pollute others and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others.

Amen to #11. That's exactly what's gnawing away at my insides right now about our diocese going along with the lockdown and closing their churches.
Pray for the Spirit's guidance at this time, for all people, not just our leaders.

We're living the liberal democrat dream. Gun and ammunition sales are non-essential (pot stores are), no public gatherings, church services halted, Trump rallies halted, non life threatening surgeries canceled (abortions are essential), no driving unnecessarily, store shelves empty, people fighting over basic necessities and the LSM censoring the President.

#12; You have voluntarily offered to postpone your Easter gathering. That is NOT the same as the Government telling you you MUST postpone it.

Locally we have a small weekend flea market that is usually a big draw. Last Fri there were 12 of us set up. Not a lot of customers but we enjoyed the great weather and chatted with those who did come. For the next 2 weeks I will not set up because I am unsure if law enforcement will show up at the event. Making everyone go home is one thing, but it would be bad if tickets are issued and fines are the result. None of us can afford that.

Outside his jurisdiction. He can sign off on a bill that his legislature presents him, but otherwise...?
Also, what part of freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of assembly has he not understood?
Maybe HE should be arrested?

The official position of Christian leaders if the world is that "unjust laws are not laws".
And if you want to manifest your stupidity, you might ask ..."and just who makes laws just?"

The US Constitution's 1st Amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." It shall be interesting to see why a Goobernor's executive order trumps the 1st amendment. It specifically states prohibiting the free expression of religion is protected. If goobernment can limit the 1st amendment, then gooobernment can limited the 2nd, 5th, 6th and anything goobernment desires.

How the it work in Korea? The one infected Carona virus church member spread it to like 3000 people.
Gather your church online. Church is a fellowship, not a building.

Last weekend, our church offered extra worship services. You signed up online for which service to attend. Maximum 20 per service. It's a large building and 20 people were scattered easily. Extreme disinfection practices were used. The entire service was given including Holy Communion. Most of the elderly voluntarily stayed home. Yes, one can worship with a few at home or online, but it was such a feeling of refuge being in God's House among God's people (even if they sat at a distance), hearing His Word and receiving His Sacrament! As our pastors say, "What the Church has to offer is not equal, but no less important than what hospitals offer...in a different sort of way. We will try our best to keep offering worship services at church in a responsible way." Members are given guidelines about wiping down the areas they touch; no hymnals are used -- the service is printed out and the copies destroyed after use, etc. Once government gets their foot in the door of the sanctuary, we're in trouble. It's not called a "sanctuary" for nothing.
