FOX Business' Charlie Gasparino says President Trump is reportedly backing off on his plan to end the quarantine by Easter during a call with top investors. President Trump appears to be revising his plans to end the lockdowns that have crippled the US economy, while promising that the federal government could actually spend much more than the $2 trillion in economic stimulus to prevent a virus-related economic catastrophe, FOX Business has learned.(Snip)In an interview with FOX News, Trump said that he "would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter," which is on April 12.

Trump's team can provide data and guidelines based on his medical and business team but the ultimate call on what constitutes the safe return to business is determined by the governors and mayors of the respective states. Its call Federalism and its designed to allow practical flexibility in solving problems closest to their point of impact. Air travel is a Federal power under interstate commerce so it really comes down to which cities want to open their gates to outside visitors subject to appropriate screening.
I think the President just wanted for people to stop freaking out and think of this whole pandemic as a very complex way to promote prayer, fasting, and alms giving during Lent. It always ends with Easter.

President Trump is not backing off a commitment. During the virtual town hall meeting with Bill Hemmer, President Trump did NOT commit to opening up the country by Easter—he said that he “would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter.” The reality is that, following a private conference call between President Trump, key White House officials, and some major Wall Street investors that took place after the town hall meeting, the goal of Easter needs to be reconsidered. This “backing off” is a glaring difference between today’s “journalism” that interjects opinion, and yesteryear’s real “journalism” committed to facts, the who, what, when, where, why and how—devoid of opinion.

Whatever the phrasing, the truth is we don't have much time in this mode before irreparable damage is done to the country. People won't stand for it much longer anyway; the reality STILL doesn't match the hype.

The professional talkers cause more confusion that is necessary. I wish they would knock it off. The situation changes constantly and the most skilled pandemic specialists are in uncharted territory.
President Trump is merely trying to walk a fine line between offering optimistic timelines and caution about how bad this could possibly get. He has the health of a deteriorating economy to worry about. ALL the physicians on his team have told these media people and cable anchors a dozen times — the velocity and nature of this virus changes constantly. They will adjust instructions and predictions based on current data. The media keeps insisting the White House “backs up” when data requires differing instructions to the American people.

They're hyping things up again. Like Katrina and Y2K. Trump did not seem to indicate that today and it sure seemed like he was taking the bad economic effects very seriously. If these treatments pan out, which should be evident very soon...I think we're back up and running by the end of next week. The deaths (and I don't think anyone should die of course I just fell into the elderly group last week) don't warrant such drastic measures.

OK, and so!
Trumps said that he HOPED to end this by Easter, not any sort of a hard date.

Gaspario is full of gas. I don't believe a word he says. Actually Fox Business needs a face lift, they have really gone down. David Asman is the only one worth watching & Trish is sadly on Hiatus.

I don't buy it. I feel that we start lifting the quarantine shortly, within the next 7 days.

Trump mentioned that he would like the US economy to re-open on Easter Day, but Trump never said that would actually happen, as that would involve decisions that will have to be made in the future. The media immediately swung into action, pointing to Easter Day as the date that Trump said he was going to re-open the US economy, and immediately sought out opposing opinions from as many doctors and politicians as possible thus manufacturing a lot of unnecessary controversy that they know would confuse the general public.
