A person in Kentucky has tested positive for coronavirus after attending a 'coronavirus party' for people in their 20s in violation of a ban on mass gatherings, according to the state's governor. It is just the latest example of ill-advised large gatherings across the country, in public and private, despite stern warnings from the governors of New York, California and elsewhere, and 'stay at home' orders that as of Wednesday will affect half of the U.S. population. 'I guess thinking they were invincible, flaunting the mass gathering prohibition,' said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear at a press conference on Tuesday of the patient who tested positive

Perhaps a charge of reckless endangerment might be in order for the attendees?

" We ought to be much better than that. " - Beshear
We're NOT even a shadow of our former American selves today.
This person is a member of "The INGRATEST Generation" and no others matter except HIM. Those at the gathering should send ALL MEDICAL BILLS resulting from contracting Covid-19 to HIM ... get those lawyers ready to pounce!

These are the same people that used to have hurricane parties back when I used to live on the coast.
Everyone else would take evacuate to safety, these idiots would stay and party on the beach until it was too late for them to evacuate. If you want to know who they were, just look at the death lists for major hurricanes.
While I do believe some of the governments actions are over-kill. To intentional to flaunt the common-sense things most of us are doing is just stupid!!!!!!

The 20 somethings are entitled to do as they please. Public school and higher education has consistently pounded it into their heads that they're special.

So the young have figured out one of the best natural methods to fight disease, herd immunity. So now helathy kids highly unlikely to suffer significant sequela can return to work with immunity. They can care for the most at risk with immunity. They can return to life. At the same time, the virus can no longer use them as a vector to other people. Sure, they are out of the community for about 2 weeks, THen they can start returning us back to health and prosperity. And out of couristy, why shold thesse kids care? They can't finish school. Get jobs. Date a member of the opposite sex (how many gay bath houses in San Fran have you heard have been shut down?). What is their motivation? Some random chance they might come into contact with an elderly person or someone with a chronic disease? Is that their responsibly or the responsibility of the person at risk? Most of us have neighbors that are young, have small kids and have no job, kids without school, no future and worried that this economic downturn will be a depression with long term fallout. Wow, The potential of losing a good future for what? Let 'em get infected, get over it and return us to normal as quick as possible.

#12, the problem with letting them get infected is that they come back and infect others. Who knows when they actually get the virus? During the first day? The first week? The virus can live on the outside for up to 17 days, we've been told. How long on the inside? How many others could one infect during and after that two weeks?
It's foolish to expose oneself to this illness. And just because one is in the category of less likely to be infected or die doesn't mean one is immune to it.

Young people think that they are invincible. Live for today and don't worry about tomorrow. This happens to old people not us. They have the Scarlett O'Hara mentality: I'll think about that tomorrow. They don't think about what their actions will do to affect others. We have all been there. We had no fear. Then along came adulthood and our generation had to go to work or to school. Maturity set in fast and we started to worry and think about others. Maybe this pandemic will straighten up today's youth. They will appreciate the hard work their parents have been through to get them through school and college. Maybe they will start giving back instead of taking. God bless us all.

They are likely gen-z-ers, who are younger than millennials but also in their 20’s... From what I can see on social media, most millennials are busy at home trying to out do eachother with who’s better at social distancing posts and virtue signaling. Meanwhile, older millennials are trapped at home, with upset and confused small children trying to wrap their brains around the fact that school, preschool, the library, the park, and any and all events and activities have been closed UNTIL MAY. Oh and they are expected to do distance learning for multiple children while simultaneously working (if they still have a job.)
Stop hating on us. I’m tired of it. We’re the largest generation in the workforce and we’re paying taxes too.

Covid-19 is extremely contagious. The limited tests available should be, right now, for the health care providers law enforcement people, firefighters and others who are in the trenches everyday fighting against the virus. I believe in "freedom" of movement, but stupid people who blatantly tempt fate deserve their dis-ease and possible death. I don't have a lot of sympathy for free styling rock climbers or sky divers or single handed circumnavigators when they die... likewise people who lick toilet seats and then kiss others at a party of like-minded souls should be left to die without squandering precious resources.
I want to go back to work. These people are undermining the effort.

Sorry this may be the solution. The problem with what they are doing is they are probably working with, going to stores or seeing older people. Short of finding a drug which reduces symptoms to a manageable level, our best bet is to get herd immunity. The best people to get sick are the healthy young. Have the young develop the sickness by themselves, isolate, get immune and get us going. Very few will need hospitalization. A tiny percent percent will die. But they may also die either way. This is how we stop it. Short of a medicine that safely reduces symptoms , it's the best we got. People are going to die no matter what we do. People will get sick no matter what we do.

How and why did this clown get access to a test? Brain-dead people like this should all be amassed out on Alcatraz Island where the survivors may be permitted to return after a one year quarantine period.
