A federal judge in Seattle rejected three nonprofits’ effort to force U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to release migrants in a detention center in Washington state because of the threat from coronavirus. U.S. District Judge James L. Robart on Thursday denied a request for a restraining order requested by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the ACLU of Washington, and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. The organizations argued that holding migrants who are older or have underlying medical conditions puts them at high risk for contracting the virus. “There is no evidence that anyone at NWDC has COVID-19, and plaintiffs do not address the measures defendants are taking to prevent such

I am a little bit less inclined (at 70 years of age) to "duck and cover" as I was told back in the day that the Russians were going to launch NUKES at us.because I "might" get sick. If the government is going to TRY to make me stay in MY house. The "Immigrants" can wait in Mexico.

So various state governments are ordering US citizens to stay in their homes, destroying their businesses and jobs, and the ACLU is on about migrants being detained due to the virus? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

Those illegal aliens, when they decided to violate US immigration law essentially decided to take their chances. They are just as likely to contact the Chinese corona virus on the streets of Seattle, or any place else in Washington States as they are in the ICE Detention Center. If the illegal aliens wanted to, they could tell ICE that they wish to return to their home countries immediately, and chances are ICE would put them on commercial aircraft headed to their home countries as there is no problem getting reservations these days.

They are not "migrants", or they would not be in detention centers. They are illegal aliens, and here illegally, or they would not be in detention centers. Of course, with Demon-Rat governors and mayors letting people out of jail and prison early because of this, I'm sure they think it's totally logical to let out illegal aliens too. But, thank God, this judge didn't agree!!!!!

The judge should have ordered every caring member of the ACLU to take a half dozen of these poor 'migrants' home and be responsible for their well being until the date of their hearing.

With every passing moment, nations are establishing precedents for how to contain and ultimately stop a global pandemic. Because the novel coronavirus apparently originated in Wuhan and was immediately covered up by the Chinese Communist Party, the health and welfare of the Chinese people and all other affected populations have suffered from this lethal malfeasance. But one of the less reported consequences of the Beijing regime’s cover-up (and subsequent propaganda blaming the United States for the virus) is that nations are being forced to establish pandemic precedents on an ad hoc basis, largely upon what we do not know rather than the little we do know about the coronavirus.

A stream of similar opinions in the New York Times and from CNN, reminded me of Machiavelli’s historical observation that “whoever controls the people’s fears becomes master of their souls.” The formula for achieving such mastery has not changed in millennia: stoke any fear, turn the fear to hate of whomever and whatever you accuse of standing in the way of safety, and make yourself the agent of that hate. …there had to be a point where the value of the Wall St economy surpassed the value of the Main St economy… Part I Here We now look forward, and consider the question: How would the multinational underwriters, the multinational financial systems, reset all transactional tables (the bookkeeping systems underneath the valuation) if the U.S. stock market was ever forced to re-value economic nationalism over multinational globalism? To first answer the “how” question, we must visit the “why” question. Why would the multinational financial underwriters want to reset their valuations? Obviously, the global financial system does not act altruistically.

A very big picture discussion requires a considerable baseline. The stock market is not the U.S. economy; the stock market is an investment instrument that determines valuations of economic activity company by company. The valuation is considerably arbitrary, based on the determinations of the arbiters (investors). This is empirically true. However, that said, how would the multinational underwriters, the multinational financial systems, reset all transactional tables (the bookkeeping systems underneath the valuation) …if the U.S. stock market was every forced to re-value economic nationalism over multinational globalism? Enter “Coronavirus”.

Joe Biden reached a new and heady milestone when he shellacked Bernie Sanders in Florida, Illinois and Arizona to become the de facto Democratic nominee for president. But there was no soaring speech to acknowledge the moment. He never took the stage amid a sea of Biden signs or before an adoring crowd on national television. Biden was instead stuck in a makeshift studio in his Delaware home, webcasting his remarks with a low-quality personal computer camera against a straight-out-of-YouTube black backdrop and two American flags. He warned about the coronavirus contagion. He offered an olive branch to Bernie Sanders. Then, despite two consecutive weeks of smashing victories,
