SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Gov. Gavin Newsom estimates 60,000 homeless people will be infected with COVID-19 in the coming months and those people will need a place to recover in isolation. On Wednesday Newsom allocated $150 million in emergency funding to deal with the crisis and announced a plan to house the homeless in hotels and motels across the state. The state would lease the property and local counties would control the operations. According to the governor's office, 950 sites have been identified across 53 counties. So they won't be homeless any more. Just sick. Problem solved. Eventually they will die and create a housing surplus. And I doubted Democrats, silly me.

Fill up hotels with insane, addicted, infected displaced people. Throw in a bunch of criminals. Mix with fraudsters and connmen. Garnish with lib politicians. A recipe for disaster....

Why? They are less likely to get sick out in the fresh air - however rank with sewage that might be.

I can't imagine any hotel accepting this. The only way this can be done to a hotel is by force. The hotels can never get disinfected, and the marijuana smoke and drug needles cleaned out of them.

See Katrina. The homeless will be in these hotels 5 years after the China virus is gone - just like displaced Katrina victims were in Houston.

When this virus crisis dissipates it will cost the State of California a lot more money to reconstruct those hotels that are bound to be destroyed, then it cost California to house the 118,000 or so homeless in those hotels. It’s pretty scary that leftist and liberal Democrats allowed that State to fall apart like it has.

If there are any honest media left in California, this should be a big time “follow the money” opportunity.

Are the rooms going to be supplied with towels, washcloths, toilet paper? The sick, are they going to,bring in doctors, nurses, ventilators, medical supplies? Are are they going to keep the sick from the not sick? Will the addicts be supplied with fresh needles? Will there be washing machines and dryers? Who will, supply the detergent. How many per room? Clean sheets, blankets, pillows. Who will these items ? This is insane. Stupid even. But then, we’re talking about Newsome land.

At 73, with a disabled spouse, whom I will never leave, living in a house we built together our entire married life; moving out of this wretched state of California is not our option, very unfortunately. Hopefully, our lives will be somewhat tolerable to the end, barring a miraculous intervention from God!

Believe it, $150 million is just the first payment. This is crazy. Like others ask, who will be supporting the sick?
