leads to class warfare in Hamptons

It’s all-out class warfare in the Hamptons. The year-round residents, the locals who serve and clean and landscape for the super-rich in the summertime — and put up with all manner of entitlement and terrible behavior in exchange for good money — are silent no more. “There’s not a vegetable to be found in this town right now,” says one resident of Springs, a working-class pocket of East Hampton. “It’s these elitist people who think they don’t have to follow the rules.”

East Hampton voted for Hillzabub by nearly a 2 - 1 margin in 2016. We're talking about liberal elites here.

Socialism has two classes. The rich and everyone else. This is a great lesson in how it works.

Probably the chief reason we got on a wagon and headed for the Rockies. Some of us didn't stop 'till we got our feet wet in the Pacific. I wish them luck as Americans but have no desire to be in their company.

Well when the zombie apocalypse hits, the zombies will certainly know where all the best goodies are, won't they?

Having seen such behavior in my own town, this doesn't surprise me at all - it is just on a grander scale.

Oh my goodness, if this is what "the rich" look like in Yankeeland, no wonder folks want to eat them!! Despicable entitled greedy monsters.
You'd think they would have taken some thought to building a better hospital or endowing the local cities with better emergency equipment and salaries for employees even if only for their own safety.
I am so glad I live in the South!!

The voters in East Hampton that overwhelmingly supported Hillary! in 2016 are the locals who are now bitching about all the swells who have come out from the City and are sucking up all the resources.

Yeah. This is why we call them "Damn Yankees" When the bridge does, be sure you are on the Hampton's side.

FTA: "Normally, the haves and the have-nots converge only in summer, and everyone plays their parts. No more."
We are in the midst of recalibrating the economic and social institutions, as well as the cultural and spiritual underpinnings of America. The Great Hunkering will be viewed in the same way as other watershed events where the very idea of America was tested; Bunker Hill, Fort Sumpter, Pearl Harbor and 9/11. We will come out on the other side a different America, MAGA:KAG America.
Fifty years ago the "progressive" socialist/communists targeted the American family; no-fault divorce separating fathers from their families, pushing mothers away from their children and into the workplace, and most heinous of all, abortion. They "progressed" us into gender-neutral "marriages" and the glorification of every sexually deviant behavior. They are currently "progressing" us into accepting the notion that men can become women and visa versa, and versa visa...ad infinitum.
During the Great Hunkering the focus of our people will be turned towards family and neighborhood. Family members will not be running off to their own activities. They will have to get to know each other. Parents are going to see the bilge the schools pump out. Many eyes will be opened. Children will see what their parents do to keep their family going. They will play together and a million inside jokes will be started. Perhaps that never opened Bible on the shelf will be dusted off. The conveyor belt of academia propaganda and entertainment production has been stopped. The "news" is a joke. The "progressive" spell over America has been broken.
The globalist elites are no different than any other ruling class that has plagued mankind; the Romans over Gaul, the Mandarins in China or the European aristocracy of the 18th century. Just as their downfalls were gradual until suddenly, our current crop of effete elite are in for a rude awakening. Think "Atlas Shrugged" Part III, only the people elected Hank Reardon as President. The Chinese Virus will be the great leveler as their selfish and boorish behavior actually endangers themselves the most. When they are sick they will find their money, their freezers full of food and their SUVs will be of no value. Our redemption and damnation are both found in our actions; that is why the faithful find grace through sin, while those without God fall into their own traps.
Be not afraid. God is at work in the world...and Donald J. Trump is His builder.

A lot of similarities to the short story The Mask of the Red Death.

I hope that #13 is correct but I have my doubts. These are the people who elected a guy named Barack Hussein Obama just 8 short years after September 11. As soon as this virus is gone, they will go right back into their old self-absorbed ways.

I'd love to think that # 13 is right, but must agree (at this point, anyway) with # 17. If 9/11 could not fundamentally change us as a people then this passing blight will have no lasting effect.
