It doesn’t amount to a silver lining, but one result of the pandemic is that Americans are witnessing what it’s like when governments work together to protect and serve the public. From the White House to state houses, officials are spending incredibly long hours to mobilize resources, treat the sick and plan and implement containment policies — all while keeping people well informed.
Most important, the message up and down the government food chain has become remarkably consistent as the scope of the threat becomes more clear: This is a war and we’re all in it together.

... not to mention the evil from China from before the acknowledgement.
OTOH, Pelousi sneaking in PP funding tells America that nothing has changed.
She too, along with Wuhan v are evil.

I think governors Nuisance and Fredo's Older Brother were unable to resist their exposure to the Trump virus. As with most Trump haters consuming the enemedia hate and vitriol, they are surprised when they have business with the man. As Dim political hacks they probably expected Trump slam them, string them along or undermine them in some manner; the same way a Dim president would do to a Repub governor. Instead they were met with seriousness, graciousness and promises kept. They may be Dim, but they're not dumb.

Yes, bipartisanship against the virus is necessary and good although Uncle Joe and Comrade Bernie seem not to have gotten the memo.
That doesn't mean anything in a broader context. The differences are too great. We cannot be both a Constitutional Republic AND a Socialist/Communist state. You CANNOT come to a bipartisan agreement over this. We CANNOT have both a market economy and a government run economy.
Bipartisanship is NOT a principle to build a country on. In fact, in many cases it is a BAD thing to pursue.

If there is one thing that brings bipartisanship to the House and Senate, it is the chance to screw over the taxpayers and future generations with massive debt and and hyper-inflation by printing tons of fiat to pass out to buy votes.

A TRILLION bucks, huh? Is there a single person in the country that thinks this will all be spent on the virus? Please. Politicians are like the most addicted druggies in the world, except their drugs are spending (wasting) MONEY. Why not just name this bill what it's going to be: The Greatest American Pork Bill EVER! Sorry to be so cynical, but we're talking politicians here...it's what they do.

The only way "bi-partisanship" will work is if democrats SIT DOWN and SHUT UP.

Bipartisanship is a one way street. Democrats will always be greedy, Godless democrats.

"This is a war and we’re all in it together.". Someone just shoot me now and get it over with. I understand much of the world crying like frightened children but America, the home of the Brave? Good grief folks, our Nation has become helpless and dependent on government to solve all our problems and institute all our dreams. Relying on government will bring you no joy, let alone relief. I cannot believe how this Country has gone from the Greatest Generation to the Safe Place Generation is such a short time. I am disgusted with most Americans and I sure do not need the threat of a virus to make me stay away from such morons.

Of course. Who would doubt the deep state's desire to work with itself.

The only bi-partisanship I see is the eagerness of governments at the local, state and federal level to shut everything down.

#10, I do understand the points you are making but there is a big difference here. I don't know if you were truly affected by the Obama-Biden years, eight of them, but there are families who are starting to recover from them. Some never did. Many businesses closed up and are no more. Sometimes people need to get off their high horses and realize that small businesses take a hit. Do you own a small business?

There may be some bipartisanship somewhere, but right now Schumer is on TV bad-mouthing President Trump again. ''Not enough.'' ''Should have been sooner.'' etc. ad nauseum....

Just as an non-operating clock with two hands is right twice a day, the leftist and liberal Democrats will throw President Trump and the Republicans a meager bone every once in a while.

#13, wife and I owned a small business for 30 yrs {hair and tanning salon}. I would never consider having a job which was dependent on anyone other than myself. We had our share of rough times but came out of all of them all the wiser. We never wasted oxygen by sighing relief that my boss will take care of me or the government will act in my best interest. In America you have the choice to be self reliant or be "taken care of". There are millions of great Americans, but today there are also millions of takers that are doing their best to ruin the America I love. I refuse to be silent. Ok, off my high horse and back to my gardening.

Democrats are so bipartisan that they forced Trish Reagan out of Fox Business News. I miss her.

I do not want any bipartisanship. What I am seeing is Repubicans passing everything the Democrats wanted. What I am seeing is crisis socialism, government intervention, government authoritarianism. That is not what i voted for, and I am very disappointed in Trump and the Republicans for embracing it. Trump had his economy, now he himself has destroyed every bit of it with government intervention and crisis socialism, all erased, we are back to 2009, as if nothing happened in between. It is a self inflicted disaster. The virus has not ruined our economy, government instigated panic, government intervention, and crisis socialism have done that.
