With some experts predicting, at a minimum, anywhere from 480,000 to 1.6 million American deaths from the coronavirus over the next three to 18 months, how smart does urban living, mass transit, open borders, reusable straws, reusable grocery bags, reusable water bottles, gun restrictions, over-regulated housing, using the Centers for Disease Control to fight gun violence, and outsourcing to China look now?
Hey, we don’t know what’s going to happen with the coronavirus. What we do know, though, is that between last Sunday and this Sunday, things went from Zero to Crazy in one week: We shut down our economy, store shelves are empty or emptying,
Some of the good things to come out of the Wuhan Virus:
1. Gen Z and millennial are re-thinking city life. I'm on quarantine -- so I walk my 5 acres of woods, work in the work shop, kids all have their own rooms and offices. Eldest kid trapped in NYC shoebox is miserable.
2. They understand the need for weapons.
3. Only idiot businesses will rely on China as a critical part of their supply chain. A mass movement away started and will now snowball.
4. Iran, China, Syria, and Russia (oil) hardest hit.
5. The stupidity of mass transit and things like re-usable bags and communal living exposed
6. A return to simple pleasures and away from crowded events

The CDC has issued no data since March 13. Every other country has, and their data is aggregated the WHO site
Is the CDC sulking? Or gone to sleep? Or just totally incompetent? Or issuing secret reports to Democrats so they can play the market?
John Sullivan, please investigate!

I have been against reusable shopping bags all along, before the virus. I have thoughts of raw chicken juice leaking from packages. Those bags come in contact with every dirty surface you can think of. Floors, dirty counters, dirty car floorboards, etc. Some are even contaminated by pets, that use them to sleep on, or worse. You have to admit, some people are just not oriented towards sanitation. Probably never wash the bags either! Then, the people put them in shopping carts and store counters. UGH!

Sent this to our local city council that vote out single use bags. Asked them to repeal the law.

Another huge difference is us and Europe. Can you imagine being in a crowded subway car, train,or bus now? Me either. I'll keep my car thanks.

NYC is not serious. Easy to close bars and restaurants. But get the "homeless" (read that BUMS) out of the subway or Grand Central? Yesterday was business as usual for the bums in the subway and Grand Central.

As of yesterday the least hipster, least très chic, highly rural state of West Virginia had no virus cases.

Could not agree MORE re: these reusable bags.......I bought some from Amazon and they are washable and I wash them!!!!!! But it is far far better to have paper or plastic that can be tossed, and a drop in the bucket re: the environment.......the massive dumps are from China, India and their fleets. It's another example of virtue signaling and one man on the radio (Mark Steyn) was laughing yesterday about the fact that someone who got a "free" PBS tote bag 10 years ago is proudly hauling this thing, waving it like a flag, into the grocer and filling it with great smugness, meanwhile it is a sea of germs.

I reuse my plastic bags for kitty litter. My reusable bags are flimsy and I don't use them any more.

Totally agree. This last desperate effort to get #orangemanbad is in fact going to boomerang and utterly destroy all the pet causes of the leftist elites and Bernie Bro commies. In addition to the great list started by #1, here are a few more:
7. The Wuhan virus confirms that any actual global WARMING is good (real statistics show that higher heat and humidity destroy the virus naturally and limit its spread.)
8. ALL nations need to control their borders, limit immigration, and vet all immigrants to prevent pandemics.
9. We need to stop subsidizing traditional schools and shift investment to online education to minimize impact of future quarantines. (This will also limit single ideology and social method pressure on students.)
10. Having America rebuild and sustain its own manufacturing infrastructure (vital goods, pharmaceuticals, electronics, etc.) is an existential imperative. It trumps the significance of "lowest cost provider" strategy of globalist companies/investors. Remember that as a consumer next time you go to Costco, Best Buy, the pharmacy, or anywhere else. YOU will be the ultimate determinant of this.
Once again, God works in wondrous ways.

Leftists are what I call 'systems people'. They can only survive inside of a completely working modetn system because they really can't do much which is actually useful, they pick up the phone to "handle" problems. Little or no practical knowledge or skills. This is why they can buy the unworkable stupidity that is leftism.
When The System isn't working, they panic, since they have literally no idea how most things work, or how to do for themselves, be it self defense or cooking beyond heating up Spaghetti-Os. And it never occurred to them that The System might break down one day, so zero planning, too.
Country boys can survive - we'll see about leftist city folks.

My dad was a health inspector. When our governor decreed that single-use plastic bags were banned, I bought reusable WASHABLE bags, which I diligently wash. My sanitation and food handling procedures are probably more than most people do, but no one has ever gotten sick from eating food I've prepared.
