The CDC was Fighting Racism and Obesity
Instead of Stopping Epidemics

Original Article

The Centers for Disease Control has a $6.6 billion budget and one job which it messes up every time. The last time the CDC had a serious workout was six years ago during the Ebola crisis. Back then CDC guidelines allowed medical personnel infected with Ebola to avoid a quarantine and interact with Americans until they showed undeniable symptoms of the disease. There were no protocols in place for treating the potentially infected resulting in the further spread of the disease inside the United States. At the height of the crisis, confidence in the CDC fell to 37%.

The CDC has become a typical, bloated Government beaurocratic sesspool. Doing work that has no connection to disease control. Streamline the CDC and correct its charter to the task at hand, disease control, not identity politics.

Progressivism is a deadly disease cured only by truth. The democrats want no part of that. They will willingly put our country and citizens at risk if it means they can gain power. The solution seems simple. Follow #3’s suggestions. Science should be the driving force behind the CDC, not identity politics. Fix this, President Trump.

It's no surprise that movies, football, basketball and more have been turned into exercises in PC virtue signalling. It starts with all the government agencies that were re-tasked to do PC stuff. NASA became 'muslim outreach', the IRS was Tea Party suppression, the EPA became global warming propaganda, the Army was to promote equality of the sexes. This is a great summary of what happened to the CDC and constructive criticism of what it SHOULD be doing.

Have been waiting - for a couple of weeks or so - to learn exactly what our medical experts at the forefront of this whole 'coronavirus outbreak discussion' are referring to. Apparently there have been glitches/problems/breakdowns they are hesitant to identify and, more importantly, the persons or groups responsible for them. The CDC did come to mind, although I've not been familiar with their funding, activities or goals. This article give us insight on this bunch. Are their credentials and status deserved? Perhaps not. Thank you, Mr. Greenfield.

Article includes how CDC and NIH got $25 million to push for gun control, spends money promoting things like a transgender beauty pageant and bike paths, and for its overworked and underpaid (aren't they all?) workers, boasts a $106 million visitor's center with Japanese gardens and a $200K gym. Your typical FedGov bureaucracy, in other words, flagrantly wasting money, producing little of value and seldom meeting even its basic mission.

"there are times when we urgently need these otherwise useless parts of the government to work correctly and quickly. And then we discover that they don’t work." A classic story of why big federal government is really bad. Washington has never been effective or efficient at anything but politics. Everything they do costs far to much and either doesn't work at all or is severely limited to start and only gets worse. The tests that the media is griping about have been held up because of CDC tight governmental control. They botched the test protocols. Non government labs figured it out. They relinquished control, probably because Trump's people would have escorted them out of the building otherwise, to allow the results of others to be used. Right now is not the time to rip out the CDC but it needs a major reset, as does much of the government.

The best thing that can be done regarding coronavirus is stop talking about it. Unfortunately its a little late for that. It wasn't going to happen anyway with the Trump-haters using the virus against Trump. They wanted to create a panic and have succeeded. We need to get back to business as usual, but the Trump-haters will see to it that does not happen. Also need to find out who is behind these massive selloffs in the stock market and if anything can be done to stop them. Wouldn't be surprised if they are politically motivated as well. It might be foreign countries selling off their investments because they need cash. Not sure what to say about the CDC. Are they doing anything? Thought Dr. Fauci was with the CDC, but he isn't.

A few weeks ago, Hindu friends and colleagues in India turned to me in desperation about the way in which the Western media has been covering the latest chapter in the forever ongoing Hindu-Muslim wars. Every single article in the mass media has blamed Hindus only and has presented the Muslims as the most innocent and non-violent of beings. Missing entirely is the history of eight hundred years of Muslim persecution of Hindus in India; what happened in 1948 that led to partitioning India into a Hindu state and into two Muslim states: Pakistan and thereafter, Bangladesh, both states where Hindus and Christians are persecuted.

It's an indisputable fact that the Democratic Party has moved left in recent years. Now, the party is about to choose a standard-bearer, in the person of former Vice President Joe Biden, and what has become clear is that Biden has not only shifted left with his party over the years, he has taken significant leftward steps in recent weeks. Three examples. First, for years, Biden has defended the Obama administration's record on deportations against those on the left who criticized President Barack Obama as the "deporter in chief." Then came last month's Nevada caucuses.

The primaries in Arizona, Florida and Illinois will continue as planned, as state officials say they’ve taken the necessary precautions to ensure that voters can safely cast ballots. The fate of Ohio's primary was settled late Monday when Gov. Mike DeWine (R) announced his administration would order all polling locations to be closed due to a health emergency, capping a day of mixed messages and confusion.

The “experts” and the “media” are eternally and loudly predicting doom and gloom, so I took Sunday to look at the bright side. Here is a view from ground level. Everybody went shopping last Thursday. Normally our local big chain crowds up on Sunday afternoon in the winter, but Thursday probably set an all-time attendance record. The atmosphere was all business; shoppers on a mission. There wasn’t a particular run on things, just those you would expect; rice, spaghetti noodles, mac and cheese. There was plenty of meat, and lots of beautiful produce. I love roasted red peppers.

After rattling the country with his implausible bravura and rather embarrassing statements at his press conference last week, where he astounded the scientific community with the depth of his epidemiological knowledge, President Trump is now turning the corner on the coronavirus crisis. His original performance was a bit like President Obama’s in 2014 when — after having tacitly encouraged the rise of ISIS with his petulant withdrawal from Iraq and having announced that he would intensify targeted bombing and increase training and advisory services to the defeated Iraqis — he declared,

Black voters voting behavior is a perplexing dynamic. Their unwavering support of Democrat politicians and the liberal agenda that creates an illusion of caring about their plight of living life at the bottom is stunning. But this didn’t happen overnight. It’s been decades of head in the sand mentality that has cost black voters dearly. Michael Bloomberg was a horrible mayor. I will never forgive Bloomberg for destroying my home town. After the dreadful terror attack on 9/11, most of us wanted to give Mayor Rudy Giuliani a third term, even though term limits was the rule. Alas, Giuliani didn't have Bloomberg's billions because after Bloomberg's two nanny –filled terms, he managed to bribe the Democrat City Council to waive that rule. Phony baloney Bloomberg ran as a Republican in 2001 even though we knew he was a Massachusetts liberal Democrat but it was such a terrible time that we were shell-shocked by the horror in our city.

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire -- For a brief moment, concerned looks crossed the faces of some Elizabeth Warren supporters gathered for her election-night event in a cavernous building near the Manchester airport. There were no TVs visible to most of the crowd -- a common feature for a struggling campaign that doesn't want the audience to see bad news. There was no warm-up speaker. At 8:20 p.m., facing a fourth-place finish in New Hampshire after a third-place showing a week ago in Iowa, Warren walked onstage without fanfare. She began by acknowledging that Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg "had strong nights."

Democratic debates in times of coronavirus make for even less interesting television than during normal times, whatever that means in the Trump era. In Sunday night’s debate, Bernie Sanders had a double task. For the believers, to make a last pitch that he is the better candidate (which, in terms of the presidency, he clearly is). For the realists, his task was to push the inevitable nominee, Joe Biden, more to the left. He probably achieved neither, as Biden stole the show, by announcing (cleverly) that he will pick a female vice-presidential candidate, a progressive weak point of Sanders (who
