What could be more reassuring in the midst of the coronavirus-fuelled loo-roll shortage than to visit a toilet tissue mill on the outskirts of Manchester and marvel at the mountains of soft white toilet paper on display?(Snip)Essity is the UK’s biggest loo-roll manufacturer, producing Cushelle, Velvet and own-brand toilet tissue for most major retailers. Indeed, it supplies more than 30 per cent of all our loo paper requirements. Every day, including Christmas, Easter and bank holidays, its six mills churn out approximately 4.7million rolls. Another 84million are sitting nearby in giant warehouses, ready to be shipped and, right now, just like Andrex, they are supplying more than ever before.

Install a cheap bidet and you won't need so much TP

When posting this article I should have included the key quote from the operations manager -- ‘We won’t run out. We can’t run out.’

Can’t health officials explain that the Wuhan Flu doesn’t cause diarrhea? The Coronavirus clogs the lungs of victims: it does not drain the intestinal track.
Unfortunately, the TP hoarding is more of the “i’ve got mine and you don’t” mindset of many Americans. Biden and Sanders stressed this selfishness in last night’s debate, with their promises of the federal government making coronavirus treatment and resulting benefits free (if you’re there first). Dumb and Dumber argued for free and freer no matter what it costs and how much freedom we will lose.

#3. having personal knowledge of dog's scooting their butts across the carpet, it comes from having an impacted anal gland, not potty time...that being said, I think all of our TP is made here in this country and the whole thing is a 'scare' by the lame stream media to bring Trump down..which ain't gonna happen...it isn't called the 'lame' stream media for no reason...at this point it isn't as bad as the normal flu season...

Yet, some of these people go home to their very unclean homes, do nothing about exercising, and eat very poorly. Just seems people are addressing all of the outwardly things and nothing else.
Some of these people go to their jobs, churches, organizations etc. and apply the same lack of care in those places. Oh, but I have all of the toilet paper I will ever need. . .

Poster 1 has it right, but here's a variation to consider:
Seriously, if you're concerned about keeping toilet paper in stock, go to Amazon and search on "hand held bidet sprayer". These things are like sink sprayers, and they come in a kit that installs easily as a tee off your toilet's fresh water supply line. Anybody with a crescent wrench can install one, you don't even need Teflon tape. Everything about your toilet stays the same, except now you have this little sprayer with its own little shut-off valve off to the side. My family think it's weird, of course, but in reality it's a better faster cheaper solution than wiping with toilet paper, and cleaner too. And your septic tank, if you have one, will thank you. Plus, if you have a baby in the house, they're handy for hosing out diapers.

If Bernie Sanders were president people would be fighting as they waited in line to buy that one roll of toilet paper that was available.

I went to Publix this morning at 8:30 and the parking lot was full. No carts left in the store. What is wrong with these people. First of all, I never go to the store that early! Not my thing, but I just decided I only need 10 things. HA! No eggs. Asked the lady working close to the Eggs if they expected any. She said nope, don't know! She couldn't care less about helping a customer. Then I went to get Half and Half. Nope, all gone! Last I wanted a Chuck Roast. None! A Butcher was putting out a Tray of Organic Chuck Roast for $27! I said I guess I will make something else. If I'm going to pay $27 for a Chuck Roast I want someone else to cook it and clean up for me (as in a Restaurant).!

What people don't understand is that stores don't have a lot of TP. Sure, the section looks big, but so are the packages. The number of units for sale is actually small. With JIT delivery, the stores don't keep more on hand than what they will sell until the next delivery. It only takes a small increase in the percentage of shoppers buying TP to wipe out the inventory, pardon the pun. People see the empty shelves and panic. And, unlike food items, if they're out, they're out. Want pasta for dinner and all the ziti is gone? Just buy rotini instead. No TP? Then people get nervous. The media madness isn't helping any. Hopefully, a few people will remember this and stay stocked up on basics at home so they won't have to be part of the horde the next time insert-whatever-event happens.

The small city where I went to HS has one large employer, a paper mill and they make TP, among their other products. I'm sure that if there is a real shortage, they'll just crank out some more. Lots of pines for pulpwood in that part of Fla.

Well, this summer when it gets hot and humid, the virus will be history. Should be able to buy it by the pickup-load at garage sales. By the looks of the shelves at Sam's ,etc.. there's a lot of it stashed away at the homes of these idiots.

Went to our small local supermarket, very small town outside of KC in KS. About 25% more cars than usual in the parking lot, not crowded inside. Soups......90% gone, I was getting cornmeal and they were very nearly out, and the flour next to it, other than the self-rising, inappropriate for my bread and cornbread use, was very low, most brands just gone. Pasta....90% gone. Rice, 90% gone. I only went to where I needed some stuff. One medium bag of noodles, bag of flour, bag of cornmeal, to cans of beans. Nobody was hurrying, nobody was rude, nobody had overflowing shopping carts, the two folks with me in line, neither had TP, and I didn't even go to the paper products aisle.
Slightly weird but not crazy. In a tiny town like this, with this the only grocery in the city (although others within 3-5 miles in other place), they don't get shipments every day.

Apparently toilet paper is the cure for Wuhan Virus, but you have to eat ten rolls of it!!
