This follow-up to my March 12 coronavirus piece comes with the same important caveats, important enough that I’m stating them up front: I’m not here to alarm anyone, and I am not here to scoff. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I do know what our experts are saying, and this is me reporting what the experts are saying. Andrew Slavitt, Barack Obama’s former acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is quoting experts who say more than one million Americans are already doomed because the “virus was not contained.”

No one knows the case fatality rate in healthy people. Many people with positive test experience no symptoms at all or very slight flu like symptoms. An unknown, untested population has had it, no longer has it, and is immune.

You want the real truth - go google/duckduckgo to hear Dr. Drew Pensky lambast the media regarding the coronavirus hype. In addition there is now reports that the Chinese commies knew about this virus in early November of last year and if this is true it has already swept through large areas of this country.
Some conservative organization needs to file a complaint with the FCC to take away the licenses of all the major and local media outlets. What these propaganda hacks have done for the democrat communist party in whipping up panic is akin to yelling "Fire" in a crowed movie theatre.
Think of the lives they are destroying. They must be made to answer for their crimes.

FTA “ In no uncertain terms, using these experts, Slavitt is saying that it is already too late to save a million Americans, and that more than one million Americans will be dead in the next 12 to 18 months.”. That, my friends, is a pretty sure bet. Last year alone, 2.8 million people died in the US

You have to understand that it is in the political interest of ex-Obama political functionaries, but not the country, for them to ferment as much controversy and panic throughout the country as they possibly can.
The question that the media should be asking those former Obama-Biden functionaries who are suddenly clambering for the immediate diagnostic testing of every one of the 325 million or so people thought to be in the USA, is if medical diagnostic testing of every American is now suddenly such a very high priority, then why didn’t the Obama-Biden Administration, that experienced two pandemics during their eight years in office, ensure that the USA manufactured and on hand at least 325 million medical diagnostic tests to immediately test all Americans during any coming epidemic or pandemic? Obviously the Obama-Biden Administration did not do that, with their ex-functionaries now Monday morning quarterbacking the Trump Administration, that in partnership with private industry in the USA and abroad must now arrange for the immediate manufacturing of those hundreds of millions diagnostic test kits and distribute them across the USA.

So if the threat to American lives is as bad as this guy thinks then I believe the election should be cancelled and PRESIDENT Trump remain in office until the crises is over. Say 15 Years or so. Bet if people start demanding this the pandemic would come to a screeching halt.

Mr. Nolte laid out in clear terms what the obama experts are saying about the deaths. He does it in a very sarcastic way. Mr. Nolte and we know that 3,333 Americans are NOT going to die everyday from the coronavirus for the next 14 months. But what Mr. Nolte doesn't realize is that for the next 14 months the 'rats will count EVERY. SINGLE. DEATH. in the U.S. will be because of the virus.

The only way you get to a million fatalities with coronavirus is if the Democrats do the counting.
They will put every death from natural causes down as coronavirus.
Every death from old age must be due to coronavirus because the elderly are most at risk, right?
And every suicide can be attributed to coronavirus because the deceased committed suicide out of fear of catching the coronavirus, right?
and every drug overdose death is because the deceased was set-treating for coronavirus.
The daily Chicago gang homicides are tough, but I bet we can find a way to blame them on coronavirus, right?

Fortunately we have several countries ahead of us in the real time progress of this pandemic and their experience is no where near as dire as this prediction. China, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Singapore are not seeing a mortality rate that would support this prediction. In several cases the number of infected is declining each day as herd immunity spreads. They may be confusing "worse case" model predictions with "likely" predictions based on the evolving data. Model predictions are based on a given set of assumptions just like the climate models and different inputs can radically change the outputs of the model.

It is unclear what % of the population has an innate immunity to the corona virus. Give the way low infection rate in Wuhan (given they quarantined 11 million people) which stands at Coronavirus Cases: 168,958 Deaths: 6,492 implies many many people have a natural immunity? Or that the Chinese are total liars.

I clicked on Slavitt's twitter post and while there are some reasonable suggestions the lengthy post begins with Trump dismantled "public health and response infrastructure" and Federal workers are afraid to speak out because Trump fired justice dept. officials who "weren't loyal to him"? Seriously?

So are they actively going to try to make this happen? Where do you report odd behaviour? A young man with cold symptoms walking around a store coughing towards people? (He was forcefully thrown out) The person touching their mouth or nose and then touching things that other people are going to touch like the man videoed in the subway?

This is an absurdity. We don't know enough about this virus to know how likely it is to spread and how lethal it will be. It also depends on who gets it. If it gets a big foothold in the elderly population, a lot more people could die. Knowing that, we are making major efforts to prevent that.
"Containment is basically futile."
This statement undermines the validity of the rest of the analysis. Containment won't prevent the virus but it can significantly influence it's spread and it's spread in vulnerable populations. Controlling the spread into elderly populations will affect the leathiality. The mobilization of cancellation of so many forms of public gatherings has never been carried out before. We are aware and careful of who we interact with and how we interact. This is NOT futile. Saying it is makes the author an idiot.
It is also very possible that a vaccine will be available by summer. If it is manufactured quickly, it could be distributed to vulnerable populations by September. That could make a significant difference.
This is a serious threat and we are taking it that way. Unfortunately, people will die. Hyping numbers of which NO ONE can be sure of is fear mongering.

What is it about the Left that has this emotional attachment to a Republican-made Eschaton? The Arctic has not melted, our coastal cities are still dry, snow did not end, the spring is not silent, acid rain has not destroyed our lakes and streams, the hole of the Antarctic did not open a sky of deadly radiation, overpopulation has not led to mass starvation and Covid-19 will pass this summer not with a bang but a whimper. Not to worry, however, they will never run out of reasons to claim the sky is falling and it is all the fault of the capitalists.

The "Panel of Experts" are making a lot of assumptions that are unlikely to hold up. The biggest assumption is that once containment fails mitigation efforts like social distancing will be ineffective at preventing the spread of this disease from going exponential indefinitely. The experience in South Korea and Singapore and Taiwan show that is not necessarily the case. It also assumes that there will not be a vaccine in the next 1-1.5 years and that leaving flu season will not slow this pathogen down. I think they are likely wrong on all three counts but hey I am no expert. Time will tell. Containment did slow this thing enough that we have a chance warmer weather and the end of flu season will slow it. Mitigation and social distancing will also flatten the curve if we are aggressive and vaccines are being developed and tested. I think the biggest hit from this thing might be the economy.
