If someone had simply stopped and double-checked some math, they might have saved MSNBC’s Brian Williams and New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay some embarrassment Thursday night. Instead, both Williams and Gay marveled on air in reaction to a Twitter user’s post about Mike Bloomberg’s campaign spending. Trouble is, the post had gotten the math all wrong – yet neither Williams nor Gay seemed to notice.

....they always seem to let their losers weasel their noses back under the flap in the tent as if nothing had happened. Williams should be selling pencils on a street corner yet there he sits.

Speaking of Doomberg, this just occurred to me this morning: I guess Clint wasted his primary vote on a loser! (Snicker!)

My goodness, are there only 500 people in the USA? I was expecting something a little more challenging. It must be that 'new math' they are teaching in schools these days where Free Stuff doesn't cost anything and someone else spending there own money could have resulted in $1 million dollar payouts for everyone if only they spent it the way the NYT and MSNBC says it should be spent.

“Well, that certainly explains how they honestly think we can pay for the New Green Deal and Medicare-for-all.”

Elites hireother people to do math for them - or can't be bothered. I mean, people, what's really important here?

The moral of this story is that math is very difficult for imbeciles and leftists--but I repeat myself.

I tutor math after hours. When my students are confronted with a word problem, I ask, “what are the numbers?” “Is it an addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division problem?” (Most can’t even tell!)
Send Byron and Mara over to me!

It’s not really mathematics, it’s simple arithmetic. And they STILL don’t understand it.
A wise man once said that anyone who doesn’t comprehend mathematics isn’t really human - they’re just a subspecies that has learned to bathe once in a while and not make messes on the floor.

Shocking. Most 4th or 5th graders wouldn't have made this error. It really goes to show, how some of these elitists who believe it is their job to shape the thinking of millions of Americans, lack even the most minor reasoning ability.

If they could grasp math, they wouldn't be TV new readers.
Only off by a factor of 1,000,000......no big deal. 🙄
Innumerate is at least as real as illiterate. Many people just cannot grasp numbers.

#15, They were forced to correct their error out of sheer embarrassment, but don't hold your breath waiting to see the clip played on ABCNNBCBS.

This is not MATH. This is arithmetic. We try to teach our 8 year old children basic arithmetic. Your Quarter Ponder with cheese costs $1.87. You gave me $2.00 so your change is ?????????

#18, gotta be careful there.
I did a deal similar to that with cute 15ish young lady at the McD's register, only, wanting to have fewer pennies after the transaction, I paid $2.02 for $1.92 bill. She looked at the money in her hand, froze for at least 30 seconds, 1,000 yard stare (seemed like 3 minutes), and then tears began to roll down her cheeks. Several times I said, quietly, trying not to make it worse, "Just give me a dime"...... After a bit more time, a male, older manager came up put his arm around her and led her off to the back, eyes still in 1,000 yard stare, frozen.
I felt really bad for her, but I didn't do anything wrong.
Innumerate. It is real.
