WASHINGTON – Young voters cheer Bernie Sanders' anti-establishment message. They turn out in throngs at his rallies. And they form the core of his grassroots efforts to win the Democratic presidential nomination. But their fiery passion did not translate into the robust turnout he needed on Super Tuesday to win a number of key states, notably in the South where a strong showing by former vice president Joe Biden has made the nomination contest a two-man race. Exit polls for five southern states that Biden won – Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia – found that young voters did not show

The young voter is very lazy. They are betting that everyone else will be there to vote.

Bernie Bros are posers! Go vote? Ha...that is for "ists" of the world. Bernie Bros just want to light fires and then go home to mommy's basement and fire up a fatty! Wow man...we are going to have to totally go out and like protest or something after watching the vote tonight...man...MOM, I'M HUNGRY!!!

Thankfully, the young have never been reliable voters.

I hate to admit this but I have three voting age kids and none of them vote. It is very upsetting to me. I have a Ron Paul fervent believer, a conservative and a liberal. I have placed the ballots in their rooms, ( before two of them moved out this year), and asked them to vote, (we are all mail in). They are all under 30. The first election I ever voted in I was 30. I just never cared enough before that. Two of them will argue you to death as well, yet they never actually bother to vote. This is why I am not super worried about the "young" vote.

Our daughter is about to turn 30 and has only voted once in her life, when she went to the polls with us and voted for Trump. She lives in Virginia and I know that she didn’t vote on Tuesday. She doesn’t pay attention to politics and I don’t think that any of her friends do either. Thankfully, they are all employed, pay taxes and are not Bernie types.

But a lot of Republicans voted for Biden in Virginia on Tuesday. I voted for Gabbard. SO I don't think all the votes for Biden were from Democrats.

If they won't turn out for their guy in the primary, they won't turn out the establishment pick on Election Day.

You mean I can only vote at my assigned place. I can't vote where I want? How unfair!

It's either a fire burning in you or it's not. My two daughters 31 and 29 vote as often as they can. I work the polls so my one daughter with toddler twins has missed a few votes because of lack of babysitters. They never miss a Presidential election though. I am thrilled to hear my younger daughter who voted for Gary Johnson because she just "couldn't" with Trump is voting for our President this year. Thank God, she's seen the delusion of the dems, and realizes he's our only hope to right the ship.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. Depending on a bunch of undependable, lazy people who want everything for free, want their loans paid off, and then they don't deliver for Bernie. What a shock!!!!

Has any seen the *numbers* for the democrap primaries? All I have seen are percentages. I'll wager that turnout has been mediocre at best.

i find it interesting that the reporter carefully wrote a logical article about young voter turnout and at the very end of the article, relies on one 21 year old slacker to refute his own article.

They turn out at the rallies because there is a band and it's on campus. Other than that the democrat/communists get huge crowds of 400. Let's see how many show up for Trump in Scranton today.

Thank Heavens young commies are too lazy to vote. Like Bernie, who got kicked out of his commune for refusing to work.

I thought all those young voters were on fire for the revolution and would storm the polls to vote for Bernie. It was going to be a tidal wave for the communists in November. Guess not.
