A hospital worker who became New Hampshire’s first coronavirus patient had been ordered to self-isolate—but went to a college’s business event instead, health officials have revealed. The selfish Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center staffer showed symptoms after returning from a trip to Italy, and was told to stay home while awaiting the test result, which came back positive Monday, health officials said.(Snip) A close colleague of his at the hospital then became the Granite State’s second confirmed case on Tuesday, their hospital confirmed. It left health workers scrambling to contact attendees at the event in neighboring Vermont to tell them to “follow the recommended

Maybe China's solution of locking them up is not so bad. This clown actually works in the medical industry.

Maybe a little jail time for 'reckless endangerment' would send a message! If I contacted the disease from attending that meeting, he would be facing a lawsuit!

You can fix ignorant, but stupid is forever....or....you can't fix stupid...or...what's the point of being stupid if you can't show it off?

Would bet he's an anti-Trumper. They are making an effort to spread the virus here simply to gain political advantage.

Non-partisan question, if that’s possible. The two remaining Dem candidates are 78 years old while PDT is 73, putting them in the in most susceptible group for both the flu and Corona viruses. Should they avoid shaking hands and close contact with crowds? Hand shaking is normal, but until warm weather returns, such a tradition might have to be avoided.

A certain portion of people are just idiots and arrogant, stupid jerks, know better than everyone else.
We really need to consider putting a guard on these folks or putting them in lockdown. They think this is a joke.

He was ORDERED (!) to self-isolate? By whom? And who besides the selfish jerk was to enforce that order? And in NOT doing so - what consequence will he pay? If in traing to be a hospital worker - this should qualify for loss of his job. If in college - he should face suspension. Harsh? No! He was ORDERED!

Hopefully Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center will fire him. He is spreading disease without concern for anyone else, not exactly who you want working in a hospital.

In agree with #3. Reckless endangerment would be a mild description, since they were inn health industry and knew better, bio-terrorism is better description. Same as with the Denver councilman that opened her big mouth a couple of days ago about going to Trump evens.

In North Korea an official broke quarantine and they executed him. Selfish people, EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS, who break quarantine should get some kind of punishment.

Some people will self-quarantine when they think they feel a sniffle. Others will make no effort even to limit exposure to others when they know they have flu. The sensible middle seems not so common these days.

Is it time yet to go "Typhoid Mary" on some of these clowns? This is the same type of person who sends their kids to daycare or elementary school with temp of 103 rather than stay home with the child.

I see no difference in this guy and the one who knowingly passed on HIV to a juvenile. And yet he got just 9 months of which he'll serve only half...for sentencing someone to a lifetime of an incurable disease. If you infect someone with Coronavirus you have knowingly sentenced them to a 1-2% chance of dying from it. He knew the odds, he didn't give a rat's behind. We need to start setting examples.

And how many of the contacted people in Vermont do they actually expect to "self-isolate"??
Seems like more people today are just stupid, me-me-me-me, fools and if it is inconvenient to keep from killing other people, "Oh, what the heck can it hurt?", seems to be the operative view.
And this jerk pretends to be a 'health care worker'. since he traveled to Italy and then to Vermont, I am guessing not an hourly bedpan changer, either. Probably a doc or nurse.

Great. Even the hospital workers are idiots about this. It is one thing to be at risk for it when treating patients; That could be considered it heroic... another thing to spread it for essentially a social event.

How about a LAW making those who are responsible for reckless disease transmission, also responsible for any medical bills (or damages in the event of deaths) due to the disease he selfishly enabled in others. Hit these SOBs HARD in the wallet for reckless endangerment.

In the article, sentence #1 says the person is a 'worker', sentence #2 says he is a 'staffer'.....
Earlier today on the radio, Mark Steyn said he was an 'executive'.
I think Mark is correct.
Some arrogant Leftist, who believes that the laws and proper conduct are for 'Little People'.
Jerk.
