SUMTER, S.C. — In October, Pete Buttigieg said he would do better with South Carolina’s black voters once they got to know him better. When he came back in December, he was still working on introducing himself to the black electorate. And in late January he admitted he was scared that at his rallies in South Carolina, where 60 percent of the Democratic electorate is black, most attendees were white. Those fears were borne out on Saturday, when Mr. Buttigieg was trounced in South Carolina’s primary and earned just two percent of the vote from African-Americans, according to early exit polling.

I think Buttigieg would have fared better if he didn't make his gayness the primary reason for a vote. Keep Chas off the stage with the kisses, Pete. That's one step too far for many conservatives.

What galls me the most about Mayor Pete is his new claims of being a military veteran. The man got a cushy deal set out for those with influential ties: no boot camp et al. plus am=n office job well within the safety zone overseas. The most dangerous thing he did was change printer cartridges or, on rare occasions, drive the Brass to a meeting outside the fence but still well within the safety zone. These claims are an insult to those OUTSIDE the zone actually doing the fighting.

There seems to be a lot of 'phony' "I'm oppressed just like you" sort of game going on here. Mayor Pete "I'm gay"Buttjudge did not win over the black voters who in the most recent "politically correct" parlance of 'cultural appropriation' did not buy into his campaign which is largely really not much more than "I'm gay". Parading his gayness for all to see, there are still many who are church-going believers who do not like him trying to put them down for holding their own views of disapproval of him. While Christians are commanded to "love your neighbor" as Christ loved the Church, and are commanded to LOVE their brothers and sisters, and to "Pray for those who despitefully use you", when it comes to voting, they did not vote for him. It was hate, it was their own judgement of opinion that Mayur Pete is NOT suitable to be the President of the United States. I watched about 30 seconds of his performance at the Demonrat debate, and he immediately went to pandering the black vote as if no other persons were going to vote in the election. In fact, ALL of them did. The voters in the election saw through this, and the obvious $23 million dollar effort by Steyer to buy them off-- Fauxcahontas was likewise run out of town as well....

Anywhere else ain't gonna happen. There aren't that many black gays in PS so he doesn't have to worry much about them liking him.

Coronavirus, the mysterious illness blanketing the world courtesy China, continues to spread. The United States has been, until this past weekend, spared breakout flares. They are occurring now. Soon, and with better and more ubiquitous testing, America’s COVID-19 numbers will spike. That will scare a lot of people. It shouldn’t. It’s what happens when the government broadens testing criteria and has more effective tests. When local COVID-19 hot spots happen, some communities, school systems, hospital systems, etc. will be under quarantine. Many of those tangentially related to the outbreak will be asked to quarantine at home. It’s time to think ahead about this possibility.

This is clearly a highly influential publication. Only a couple of weeks after I pleaded in these pages for the repatriation to America of Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, it was accomplished. In a magnificently self-regarding and self-pitying statement to the world, Prince Harry and his recalcitrant wife announced that they would be ‘stepping back’ from royal duties and spending much more time in ‘Canada’, or, as it is more familiarly known, Los Angeles. In this statement, released without the Queen’s knowledge, Harry and Meghan expressed a vague wish that they might at some point in time become ‘financially independent’ from the British taxpayer, seemingly possessed of the interesting belief

Conservatives have been trying for decades to create an immigration system that rewards immigrants who won’t be a burden on society and discourages those who will. The Trump administration this week began enforcing the “public charge” rule, giving U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services the authority to refuse green cards — the key step on the path to citizenship — to people who have used a wide range of nonemergency welfare programs. “The main reason this got done is because we have a president who is determined enough to make self-sufficiency matter again in a meaningful way,” said Ken Cuccinelli, who pushed through the rule as acting chief of USCIS

Coronavirus is clearing the air in China. Stunning aerial images of Earth show a drastic decrease in pollution levels over northern China in the past month, as entire towns the size of New York City have been shut down amid the deadly outbreak. The images, produced by NASA and the European Space Agency, compare air quality between Jan. 1 and Jan. 20 with pollution levels between Feb. 10 and 25 — and the difference in nitrogen dioxide concentration is stunning.
