Eight out of 10 employees working in the arts or culture fields said that sharing controversial opinions could mean 'being professionally ostracized' or bullied, according to a new survey. These revelations reportedly stem from an increasing culture of self-censorship and a fear of backlash from colleagues over views that may politically incorrect. The Freedom of Expression survey conducted by ArtsProfessionals, a UK arts publication, received responses from more than 500 individuals in the field, many of which pointed out the risks that can come with speaking freely. Some of these topics include expressing support for right-wing ideologies and conservative political parties.

I don't care if people are forced to hide their opinions in order to survive as long as they vote and support Republican conservatives come November. Consistently win, decimate the Dem socialists, and pull minorities off the plantation to think for themselves and eventually, just maybe - conservative opinions will be safe to publicly express again.

That is of just the ones brave enough to answer truthfully in the first place.

It's the same in education. I am a staff member at a university and I keep very, very quiet. But I vote and if I have to crawl on my hands and knees through broken glass, I will be at the poll in November at 6:00 am to vote for President Trump and the Republican ticket. Happily my state is represented by Rand Paul and Cocaine Mitch.

Not to mention the 9 out of 10 professors currently teaching in college where all conservative thought has been blackballed.

More than the average number of people in the arts are homosexuals. The homosexual lobby is on a roll. It has removed itself from the mentally ill category and has invaded the civil rights movement wit success. But the movement with its penchant for control remains with the same tactic: "If you don't think like we want, you will regret it."

I've lost work and job offers as a result of discussions that I didn't even realize were probing tests of my PC. I was raised to take a position, defend that position, but be open to any convincing argument from the opposition that might be better. That's not how a liberal/leftist/progressive thinks. You are tagged as 'arrogant' or they simply hate you for defending something that they are literally nuts about.
Of course you are NEVER told this directly. Always relayed thru someone else. IF they ever really feel their oats they won't bother with that, they will fulfill their darkest fantasies about hunting us down, re educating us or simply killing us.

When I was a young man, it was normal not to discuss politics or religion outside of a circle of family or friends. Now,the Marxist Left makes sure any newcomer to either higher learning or employment is "interrogated" to determine your political leanings. Then you are either accepted or ostracized depending on your responses.
At one place of employment, I was approached by one self-appointed "commissar", to whom I replied NYOB. When over a course of days, this dude would not let up, I went to HR citing a hostile work environment complaint, and as others had complained as well, this guy was sent packing.

I'm here to tell you, this report is true.
I have endured countless attendance-required lunches, and the libs at the table, who were in the majority, immediately got into politics, talking as if everyone thinks that way. I had to sit there and say nothing.

That is why I would NEVER put a Trump sticker on my car. If I need to stop in Portland or Seattle, my car might be keyed or the tires flattened.

This is really great news and it is something I never considered. While we hear some stories about people leaving the democrat party, I didn't think about all of those that can do it without talking about it or having to answer to any questions from friends ,co-workers or family. Makes my heart soar like a hawk.

This is absolutely true, although I agree with the OP in thinking that 80% is a low estimate. I worked in theatre for years, and now work in the complimentary healthcare field. Double whammy. I had a client who showed up for an appointment on the a Thursday after the 2016 election. He was absolutely despondent and kept asking probing questions as to how I felt and how I was even able to work, now that Trump had been elected. I did not engage on any level, which, if you’re smart you know what that means. Haven’t seen him since. The good news in all of this, is that conservatives have had to learn to live under the radar, much like the Christians in the catacombs. This has two major advantages. We can observe liberals from the sidelines and learn their every move, and 2) they have no idea how big our numbers actually are. This is how Trump got elected.

When my son was at college between 2014 and 2018, he attended very few parties, but when he did the punk liberals always tried to draw him out to determine if he was a liberal or the enemy. He kept saying that he didn't have enough information or knowledge to hazard an opinion about the political statements they made. Naturally, that placed him in the enemy camp. One even threatened him that when the revolution began, he would be that a-hole's target. Even today whether at work or with family he keeps his opinions to himself. I'm certain there are many like him in colleges across the nation. He just completed the research on the local candidates in our upcoming primary. We all vote for conservatives in our household.
