Takoma Park in Maryland has come up with a climate plan that calls for banning fossil fuels. (City of Takoma Park)
A small Maryland enclave known as the “Berkeley of the East” has devised a bold climate plan that would ban gas stoves, leaf blowers and water heaters, according to a report.
Liberal Takoma Park’s action plan, which would also close gas pipelines and force gas stations to relocate, is designed to eliminate fossil fuels to help save the planet, The Washington Post reports.
The town of 17,000 just outside Washington, D.C., first burnished its liberal credentials nearly four decades ago by declaring itself a “nuclear-free zone.”

Bans in Northern California, too.

No quantitative analysis of how much this will lower worldwide temperatures (Pssst, it won't). In the meantime, about 2000 coal-fired plants are planned or being built around the world. Emissions from these new plants will swamp whatever GHG emissions these nitwits think they're reducing by banning gas stoves.
Dumb, just dumb.

It will be interesting to watch them search for electricity that isn't generated by fossil fuels or nuclear power. No fair importing it from outside sources either!
No, it isn't in the wall of your houses either!
Most restaurants cook with gas, so I suppose all those will shut down. The ever-popular Pizza will be hardest hit!

I didn't see them banning electricity that is coming from fossil fueled power plants.

Takoma Park libtards could easily be transported to Berkeley and not miss a beat and it has always been that way in my experience. Not that there is any place left in Maryland within 50 miles of DC that isn't. I wouldn't mind seeing leaf blowers banned solely due to the thousands of nitwits who blow their yards and driveways clean on Sunday morning only to have them nicely leaf-covered by Sunday afternoon.

It has to be a complete ban, or it doesn't count. In two weeks, there will be 17,000 smelly, dirty people cooking over wood fire pits, but it will leave more for the rest of us.

Berzerkley Kooksville Park of the East. These are Bernie's people. Total insanity is their world of normal. They can now declare themselves an intelligence and common sense free zone.

It's actually The People's Republic of Takoma Park by locals. There is a large Hospital and a University with its ow heating plant within the city limits. They burn Oil or Natural gas. They will not be able to run them with no fossil fuels.

Go for it. This will be fun to watch. Remember now....no more flying to your favorite vacation destinations or anywhere even for business. If you have a heart attack you will have to drive yourself to the hospital in your electric car since ambulances use fossil fuel too. Can't call the fire department either. Those big vehicles use a lot of that dreaded fuel. Use your garden hose if your house catches fire.

They should also ban the sale of all food produced and transported with fossil fuels.

I grew up on a no-electricity farm in north-central South Dakota. Little did I know Maryland would embrace that!

Idiots. I suggest they should also ban all agricultural products produced or transported with any petroleum of any kind. They can spend all their time growing their own organic food and animals right there.... or starve is more likely.

Takoma Park has attracted lunatics for decades. In the Seventies, they had a big contingent of "Fruitarians" (the word "vegan" wasn't a thing yet) that not only preached veganism, but not even cutting into living plants. They were very upset about lawn-mowing. Later they declared the town a "Nuclear Free Zone" which was an early example of what we now call virtue signaling.

Okay all you utility companies, cut off all supply lines to kookville immediately. No gas, oil, electricity, coal, or anything made from or with them in their products.
