LA Times Film Critic: Trump Saying He

a ‘Racist Dog Whistle’

Los Angeles Times film critic Justin Chang said Friday on CNN that President Donald Trump mentioning the movie “Gone With the Wind” at his rally was a “racist dog whistle.” Chang said, “It’s kind of unfortunate, I think, that we have a president whose entire presidency is founded on xenophobia and of course his comments are not surprising coming from someone who likes to dehumanize people of other cultures and people of color. So none of that’s surprising.”He continued, “Well, that whole thing, “Gone with the Wind” and “Sunset Boulevard,” that all smacks of a dog whistle hearkening back to an earlier era

Wish he would have said Ben Hur. Would have loved to see their heads explode. I have read Gone With the Wind a dozen times if not more. I can't even guess how many times I have seen the movie. I do not approve of slavery, I do not want to live like it is 1860, I live in a neighborhood that includes black families and have never wanted to hunt them down. These dems need to get a hobby or learn how to spend their time more wisely. Stop occuping their minds with nonsense. Since farming is so easy maybe they can start a community garden. Spring is coming.

When are we going to call "BS" on this kind of thing? Without invoking the 'dog whistle' of RACISM, we would not have had the 2nd term of Nobama, and they demonrat socialists wouldn't have much to talk about. Instead of trying to TEAR DOWN society, why not help people to improve their lot in life in the future? Our system allows people to thrive rather than be enslaved by dependent upon government. The media is doing its best to try to force its image upon us in movies, television shows, selective and SLANTED rumor-filled propaganda tying to shake down rather than to enlighten and uplift people, and people are seeing it for the manipulation it is.

I always find it interesting how these supposed champions of racial equality can hear these "racist dog whistles" when, who they would claim IS a racist, cannot. We might want to start pointing out what they are saying about themselves when they claim to hear a "racist dog whistle" in what someone else says. Just like when Rep. These 'people' are beclowning themselves. What President Trump has been able to do in the USA goes way beyond politics. He has forced the left to drop the mask of benevolence they've worn for the past century in order to expose the hideous reality underneath. While I have great affection for Ronald Reagan, his accomplishments pale in comparison to what Trump has already done. The hard part is going to be cementing his gains after he leaves office.

"Dog whistle." How clever....and terribly overused. I like much better the "Mileormore Bird whistle." The Milormore bird is a small bird reputed to begin flying in huge circles, ever diminishing, until it flies up its own butt. At that precise point, it whistles through its butt and you can hear it for a mileormore. Maybe the racist dog whistle should be renamed the racist mileormore whistle.

Since last year, Sen. Bernie Sanders has held deafening rallies with surrogate Rep. Ilhan Omar in tow, bringing her to St. Paul the night before the state primary in a bid to win Sen. Amy Klobuchar's home state of Minnesota. But months of campaigning with the bombastic Minneapolis representative not only couldn't lock down the state, but it didn't even help deliver Omar's congressional district. Instead, Sanders lost by more than 60,000 votes in a state he won in 2016. What's more, he didn't lose to native Klobuchar (which could have been expected), but to Joe Biden, who didn't contest the state but
