CLEARWATER — The three men who held up a CVS Pharmacy on New Year’s Day planned their moves meticulously. The robbers hit at 5 a.m. They wore blue surgical gloves so they wouldn’t leave prints. They waved guns at employees and bound several of them with zip ties. Detectives would later review store surveillance video that showed one of the suspects casing the place the day before. And they made off with a boatload of drugs in white garbage bags — more than 10,000 pills that contained the opioids hydrocodone and oxycodone, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. It had an estimated street value of about $320,000.

It was a fine haul for the New Year's early morning armed robbers. If they hadn't been litterbugs, they wouldn't have been caught so soon. These three Einsteins, 19, 19, and 18, respectively, will have decades in the hoosegow to ponder their life choices.

This is why my local Walgreen's stopped being open all night. Too much crime. I never go to CVS. Some years back I went to one out of my area because they said they had my medication in stock. They didn't, but the pharmacy keep my driver's license. On the way out, a suspicious customer was walking in. By the time I got down the street and realized she didn't return my ID and went back, the yellow tape was up and police on the scene because he tried to rob them. I had to go to the drive thru to get my ID. Keep in mind this was a wealthy area near Tiger Woods former home.

Canada is presently in the throes of social and political disintegration. A left-leaning electorate has once again empowered a socialist government promoting all the lunatic ideological shibboleths of the day: global warming or “climate change,” radical feminism, indigenous sovereignty, expansionary government, environmental strangulation of energy production, and the presumed efficiency of totalitarian legislation. Industry and manufacturing are abandoning the country in droves and heading south. Canada is now reaping the whirlwind. The Red-Green Axis consisting of social justice warriors, hereditary band chiefs, renewable energy cronies, cultural Marxists, and their political and media enablers have effectively shut down the

Bernie Sanders described his plan to reject the "racist, right wing government of Israel and bring Palestinian and Jew, Iranian and Saudi together under the banner of justice," which is a tall order. Even should it fail, his supporters may argue that "we have to try and keep trying. We owe it to the future not to give up," as if trying were an end in itself. Bernie Sanders was asked by NBC about the job loss his proposed fracking ban might cause. “What do you tell those workers?” NBC moderator Chuck Todd asked. “This is a moral issue,

He Who Shall Not Be Named Over the last few debates, the contenders have engaged in the occasional hissy fit at one another, but none of the serious contenders had yet to draw any serious blood. There is much grumbling about President Trump's pardons of well-known Americans such as former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, former NYPD Chief Bernard Kerik and former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo, Jr. Some have claimed that it's the end of the rule of law and justice that the president would grant clemency to this well-known rogues gallery along with small-time drug dealers. Blue checkmarks are in high dudgeon: (Snip) Though it wasn't as bad as Bill Clinton pardoning arms dealer Mark Rich and Puerto Rican terrorists, there was plenty of ick factor implicit in some of Trump's choices for pardons and commutations.

This was the week that President Trump really started to drain the swamp. It came when he yanked the nomination of Jessie Liu to a Treasury Department post. The decision was all Trump’s, and occurred after Trump learned details about what was going on when she was United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. Though Trump was most aggravated with Liu not clamping down on the outrageous sentencing recommendations of her staff in the Roger Stone case, there was a long list of other concerns that made it clear to the president the extent of ideological weaponization across the Justice Department.
