Donald Trump held his third rally in a row Friday afternoon at the Las Vegas Convention Center - with a Trump-loving impersonator to keep the crowd entertained before the president spoke. The president's fans had lined up outside for hours- and in some cases since Thursday - in a relative winter chill to wait for the relatively rare appearance in a red state. They were kept entertained not just by Trump Elvis - real name Jeff Stanulis, holding an Elvis-themed Donald Trump doll - but by a Kim Jong Un impersonator who shouted at waiting fans that the president is a 'great dictator' while brandishing an inflatable little rocket.

Donald Trump brought up his youngest son during his rally in Las Vegas Friday, which he rarely does, and imitated a conversation between himself and Barron. While going off on a tangent about healthcare, and railing against Democrats for proposing single-payer healthcare systems, Trump said his youngest child could have created a better healthcare site than what came of Obamacare's open market, where people were supposed to go to sign up for a plan.'We're now offering plans that are up to 60 per cent less expensive. We're going to make healthcare a big part of this campaign. We're protecting people with preexisting conditions, and we always will,'

A recent Pew Research Center survey finds that only half of American adults think colleges and universities are having a positive effect on our nation. The leftward political bias, held by faculty members affiliated with the Democratic Party, at most institutions of higher education explains a lot of that disappointment. Professors Mitchell Langbert and Sean Stevens document this bias in “Partisan Registration and Contributions of Faculty in Flagship Colleges.”Langbert and Stevens conducted a new study of the political affiliation of 12,372 professors in the two leading private and two leading public colleges in 31 states. For party registration, they found a Democratic to Republican (D:R) ratio of 8.5:1,

Give them a big hand,” Trump said in Las Vegas, where team members had gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their historic win over Russia on Saturday. The president at one point called team captain Mike Eruzione to join him on the stage along with players

On Friday, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle talked to CNBC contributor Dan Nathan about how the booming economy may factor into the 2020 presidential race. Without any substantiation, Nathan wildly speculated that there could be another “global financial crisis” which would provide something “Dems can run on” in the fall.Nathan, a longtime Democratic Party donor and principal at the investment consulting group RiskReversal Advisors, began by arguing that the nation’s historically low unemployment was actually a bad thing: “...the labor market is really tight, and economically, in an election year, that could pose a really big problem when you think about it here because we’re just not seeing

The ratification of the Constitution in 1788 ushered in a new era in the United States. The times were not without discord—domestic, foreign, and within the government itself—as the nation implemented a new structure that inevitably brought forth many opinions on how best to govern the nation.Among the most dramatic changes in the new Constitution was the presidency, first held by George Washington. Noted for many accomplishments, Washington is the only president to have swept the Electoral College as he was elevated to the office. Despite his stature and popularity, he was beset by conflict within his Cabinet and in the nation. In letters to members of his Cabinet

James Verini’s They Will Have to Die Now: Mosul and the Fall of the Caliphate has gifted us with gruelingly realistic war vignettes of the Islamic State from Iraq’s second most populous city. Mosul is also one of the oldest human settlements: the Western Fortress of the Akkadians of 4,300 years ago. On a short assignment from National Geographic, Verini, an American, remained behind in the city for a year after it was overrun. His journalism is omnivorous, and superbly faithful to real-time developments, though written within a peculiar framework dictated by his liberal ideology. At his best, Verini is superbly authentic.

The oil pipeline that sparked months of protests and mass arrests in 2016 has been approved for an extension by regulators in North Dakota. The three-member North Dakota Public Service Commission on Wednesday unanimously approved pipeline builder Energy Transfer Partners’ planned expansion to nearly double the number of barrels of crude oil pumped through the Dakota Access Pipeline per day. The extension would include adding a new $40 million pump station in the city of Linton to increase output from “its current maximum capacity of 600,000 barrels per day to up to 1.1 million barrels of crude oil per day,” a press release from the commission reads.

Should Utah Sen. Mitt Romney attempt another shot at the White House — but this time on the independent ticket, with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as his running mate? The hypothetical Romney-Bloomberg ticket would give millions and millions of independent and moderate Democratic and Republican voters stuck in the middle a solid choice for president, which doesn’t exist now between democratic-socialist Bernie Sanders and current White House occupant and Twitter-flamethrower President Donald Trump. That’s what author, Maryland business executive and former U.S. Senate candidate Neal Simon wrote in his article he shared with Lee Lonsberry on KSL NewsRadio's show Live Mic.

On Tuesday, news broke that the Queen had banned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from marketing the “Sussex Royal” brand. Friday morning, another story broke, saying that Meghan was whining about this because she and Harry had already invested money in selling themselves. Also on Friday, the Queen won and Meghan backed down. Queen Elizabeth comes from a generation that holds that you can’t eat your cake and have it. In other words, when you make choices, you have to take both the benefit and the burden of that choice. Meghan Markle, on the other hand, is a child of the Veruca Salt generation.

"The newly described snail belongs to the so-called caenogastropods, a group of land snails known to be sensitive to drought, temperature extremes and forest degradation," snail expert and study lead author Menno Schilthuizen said in a statement. The tiny mollusk, which is about 2 millimeters in size, was discovered by citizen-scientists from the tour group Taxon Expeditions

NEW ORLEANS—Standing in line at the hardware store on the edge of the French Quarter one December Monday, I overheard the cashier talking to a regular customer about manhole covers that had exploded just before dawn that morning a couple of blocks away. The metal discs had burst into buildings and crashed into the underside of a car, which in turn caught fire. Power outages and evacuations had ensued. This was just the latest addition to a cluster of troubling events. In the previous few days, a turbine powering the low-lying city’s storm-drainage system had also exploded, unrelated water-main ruptures had flooded neighborhoods on opposite sides of town,

Could you, would you back him? REP. JAMES CLYBURN: I’m going to back whoever our nominee is — Absolutely. CAVUTO: Even with the things he’s said about African-Americans? Does that bother you? REP. CLYBURN: Not as much as what Trump has said about African-Americans.
