Rod Blagojevich says he’s a ‘Trumpocrat’
after being freed by president

Former Democratic Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich declared himself a “Trumpocrat” Tuesday night hours after the president commuted his federal prison sentence. “He’s got obviously a big fan in me,” Blagojevich told reporters at Denver International Airport. “And if you’re asking me what my party affiliation is, I’m a Trumpocrat,” according to NBC News.(Snip) Walking through the airport as a free man Tuesday night, Blagojevich said, “President Trump is the one who did this, and I’m … profoundly grateful,” NBC News reported. “He didn’t have to do this. He’s a Republican president; I was a Democratic governor,” Blagojevich said.

Comments:

Perhaps Hot Rod has some secrets about Obama et al that he'd like to share, as he implied he did years ago.

I can't help but seeing this as another masterful troll by the Trollmeister. Just the "Trumpocrat" part is enough to cause sever 'splody heads all over Leftyville. I'm sure Blago will have plenty more to say and he doesn't have any friends left on the "D" side. Certainly not in DC or Illinois.

14 years was way too long of a sentence for the crime. I have heard from some that he damaged the integrity of the Senate. Then I think of Mazie Hirono. While integrity might be a goal it surely is not a definition.

Blago damaged the integrity of the Senate? That's rich!!! The Senate lost any, ANY semblance of integrity with the likes of the now deceased conscience of the Senate (what a friggin joke) Ted Kennedy, then there was KKK Byrd, let's not forget the lyin' loser John Kerry, and Mr. Maverick himself John McCain (aka McQueeg), Mrs. Mao Diane Feinstein's communist spy driver of 20 years and of course I can't miss the King Klown Chuckie Schuma and his co-clown underlings Turban Durbin and Leaky Leahy.....so I don't believe the fake news when they report about the "integrity" of the Senate. That ship has sailed long, long, long ago.

Sorry to post again, but Blago did not actually sell the Senate seat. He talked about it and indicated he was interested in something in return. #10 is correct. He didn’t immediately acquiesce to Obama’s request that Valerie Jarrett be appointed. But discussions were ongoing. The Feds swooped in before Rahm or anyone else could be caught offering something in return for Jarret’s appointment.

I agree that Blagojevich is the least deserving of all the pardons issued so far by President Trump, but as we've seen before, there's method to his madness. He's making a point: political prosecutions are unfair and excessive, and he's going to reverse enough of them to put both government investigative agencies and judges on notice. I believe his own experience with the unending investigations and shampeachment have put him on a mission. This is going to be a lesson the Deep State and the Imperial Judgeships will never forget. Go, Trump, go!

Blago was my governor. I didn't approve of him then and I don't approve of him now. That said, he didn't deserve 14 years in prison when rapists and the like don't serve that long. His crime was displeasing the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, Mike Madigan. Madigan runs the state and is corrupt as the day is long. Blago didn't do anything that so many other sleazy pols in Illinois have done and are doing -- and still aren't held to account for.

A lot of this story has Obama's fingerprints on it. How on earth a couple like Michelle and Barack Obama are now able to buy two properties is beyond me. I get it, of course. Corruption followed Barack Obama and his vice president at the time, Joe Biden. Just look at what money could buy them? And the Democrats? RINO's? I will say this over and over. These type of people remind me of the tax collectors from Bible times. Oh, Barack Obama can run around touting "share the wealth" making sure that his pockets were lined. You know how you help the poor and people who are struggling? Lighten the tax burden. I will not vote for a Democrat for these very reasons. In addition, they believe in taking God out of society and really do not know how to treat people especially babies.

Recall the day Donald Trump came down the escalator with Melania? Bringing Blagojevich out of prison is of a piece with that event. And "that event" is the coming of age of the Eastern European immigrant communities in the United States. Donald Trump was informed at some time or the other that the way the Democrat high command was going to infiltrate Hispanic Americans into party leadership positions (or, as they say ~ "to climb the chairs") was to exfiltrate the existing Slavic/Orthodox/Eastern European leaders from the party apparatus imagining that the rank and file in those communities wouldn't notice..... And, it was a task nearly complete when he, The Donald, decided to run for President. Lo and behold, the situation was apparently widely known, and he ended up getting several million brand new Republican voters ~ at least 4 million to balance the numbers lost to Father Time since Romney's abortive try ~ and a couple of million more to balance the loss of the NEVERTRUMP faction. He went after the Coal Mining industry as well as the children and grandchildren of people who'd worked in America's factories only recently exported to China. This is really heavy duty large scale stuff. We rarely see wholesale conversions of people who adhered to one established party to another established party, but doggone if we don't see it now. I was sure we'd never see the Eastern European ethnics SWITCH en masse to the Republican side of the ballot, but there they are, albeit not entirely since they didn't vote Republican in the 2018 mid-term! Blagojevitch is a particularly potent symbol ~ just before his fall he was not just Governor of Illinois but the HIGHEST RANKING Serbian American ever elected to public office in the United States! And the Democrats took him down and tossed him away like so much rotten meat.... Yesterday, The Donald paid his respects to all those people who came over to the Republican side 4 years ago by removing Blagojevitch from the ignominy of imprisonment. And this may well get them interested in voting Republican down ballot!

Utah lawmakers voted Tuesday to put new regulations on pornography and remove some on polygamy in separate proposals moving quickly through the Legislature in the deeply conservative state. Senators voted unanimously to change state law to remove the threat of jail time for consenting adult polygamists, a step that supporters argue will free people in communities that practice plural marriage to report abuses, like children being taken as wives, without fear of prosecution.
