Meghan and Harry reportedly
barred from using ‘Sussex
Royal’ label going forward

Maybe they can trademark “certified former royal?” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be moving forward in their new life without a valuable part of their brand, with the Queen and other senior Palace officials reportedly agreeing the couple will no longer be able to keep the word “royal” as a part of their brand. According to the Daily Mail, the two had hoped to leverage “Sussex Royal” into not just a new website but a “global trademark for a range of items and activities, including clothing, stationery, books and teaching materials” and a new charitable organization with the name.

This pair of sell-outs wants to use "Royal" in a “global trademark for a range of items and activities" that no one wants, such as $450 vegan candles, à la Gwyneth Paltrow; stale, non-GMA coffee at $95 per 12 ounces; and "skin care products" that include Meg´s own recipe!!! - she IS super-gorgeous and down-to-earth, you know. To think that the Duke of Edinburgh made Harry the Captain of the Royal Marines when he retired age 95, a tremendous privilege that now seems squandered on Mr Windsor-Markle-Mountbatten. That must be a crushing disappointment to Harry´s 98-year-old grandfather, who was of a tougher and more sensible generation who carried out their duties come hell or high water. His warrior grandson (and Harry was a brave fighter in Afghanistan) has become a "wet." He now looks like a washed up former C-list actor who played a suit on a mediocre cable legal drama - just like MEghan!! It was just meant to be. Even SussexRoyal´s "Astrologer Royal" said so (at $795 a pop).

We knew this was coming. The powers in the British monarchy don't cotton to being abandoned and then used by those who did the ditching. I doubt Harry and Meghan have fully realized that when they are no longer part of the royal environment, they are no longer special. They are simply Harry and Meghan who used to be royal.

Slowly but surely, the RF is giving Harry the same treatment the Queen's Uncle David (formerly HRH Edward VII) got - exile and for essentially the same reason. Once the novelty of H & M wears off, they have very little to offer and will disappear into obscurity just like the Duke and Wallis did. I doubt the marriage will survive after that. Meghan will get a handsome settlement, and Harry will tuck in his tail and skulk back to his family.

When Barack Obama secured the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, he famously declared, “We will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide ... good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.” Looking back with 2020 hindsight (pun intended), Obama and everyone else in 2008 would be surprised to learn that significant improvements in the economy, inequality, and emissions would occur but that the public would credit them not to Obama’s eight-year tenure but to Donald Trump’s victory on Nov. 8, 2016.

NEW ORLEANS—Standing in line at the hardware store on the edge of the French Quarter one December Monday, I overheard the cashier talking to a regular customer about manhole covers that had exploded just before dawn that morning a couple of blocks away. The metal discs had burst into buildings and crashed into the underside of a car, which in turn caught fire. Power outages and evacuations had ensued. This was just the latest addition to a cluster of troubling events. In the previous few days, a turbine powering the low-lying city’s storm-drainage system had also exploded, unrelated water-main ruptures had flooded neighborhoods on opposite sides of town,

Statistics estimate 36,000 people are homeless in Los Angeles, but the city isn’t providing bathrooms to most of them. In one act caught on camera, a homeless man is seen waking up on South Hope Street. He unbuckles his belt, walks over to the front door of a business, pulls down his pants, and defecates right on the door mat in broad daylight.

Ever since President Trump commuted the sentence of disgraced former governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich, I’ve been asking myself why he would do such a thing. I have a theory about what might have contributed to the decision, and if I’m right, Barack Obama should be concerned. When Barack Obama won the presidency in 2008, it was then-Governor Blagojevich’s responsibility to appoint someone to fill the seat. But, Blagojevich didn’t just want to give it away, he wanted something for it. “A Senate seat is a f----ng valuable thing. You don’t just give it away for nothing,” Blagojevich said at the time.

When then-Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar was running for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota in 2006, members of the local public employees' union that represented the lawyers on her staff wrote to their state union headquarters asking it to withhold its endorsement from the Democrat. On behalf of AFSCME Local 2938, chapter President James Appleby penned a letter to the AFSCME state headquarters in South St. Paul, Minn. making the case that Klobuchar was "wholly undeserving of AFSCME's endorsement." The document, obtained by Fox News but previously reported by HuffPost, takes on new relevance as Klobuchar seeks the Democratic nomination for president and the primary campaign moves to union-heavy Nevada.

It used to be that a murderous regime needed a pliable Western journalist to get its propaganda printed in the New York Times. Not anymore! It can submit directly to the Times opinion section, as the Taliban proved this week. “What We, the Taliban, Want,” reads the actual headline to an article published Thursday by an actual American newsroom. The op-ed, authored by Taliban deputy leader and suspected terrorist Sirajuddin Haqqani, opens with a series of sentences that attempt to “both sides” the conflict between the Taliban and the United States and present the Americans as unreliable and untrustworthy negotiators.

The attacks on Michael Bloomberg came early and often at Wednesday’s debate in Las Vegas, but none of them, of course, touched on his infamous “kill it” comment to a pregnant subordinate. No, the party of abortion at all stages wasn’t going to touch that one. Instead, Elizabeth Warren focused on Bloomberg’s thoughts about “horse-faced lesbians” and “fat broads.” Bloomberg has paid advisers millions of dollars to prepare him for just such moments, but he still acted like he was answering the challenges for the first time. He came off as cold and flat-footed — the unlikeable technocrat trying woodenly to make himself palatable to a left-wing audience with half-hearted answers.

Six people entered the debate stage Thursday night to try and justify their campaigns’ viability to Nevada voters, and five of them spent large chunks of the time taking turns attacking a man who is not the incumbent President or the Democratic frontrunner. It was an odd, but somewhat predictable night in Las Vegas as the top six Democrats running to be the Democratic nominee this year debated on key issues. A lot of the airtime was spent attacking Mike Bloomberg, who is a distant second to Sanders in recent polling, and Sanders actually got away relatively unscathed. Buttigieg, Klobuchar, and Warren tried to keep themselves relevant

Elizabeth Warren shamed Mike Bloomberg for allegedly calling women “fat broads.” Amy Klobuchar asked Pete Buttigieg if he was calling her “dumb.” Bloomberg shut down Bernie Sanders by quipping that "the best-known socialist in the country happens to be a millionaire with three houses." The Democrats’ showdown Wednesday night in Las Vegas repeatedly put Bloomberg in his primary rivals’ crosshairs as the surging billionaire made his debate-stage debut. But the conflagration quickly expanded into an all-out melee and easily the most aggressive debate of the nomination season to date, as each of the candidates took sharp and often personal shots at one another.

Michael Bloomberg had a lot of bad moments in his first debate as a Democratic candidate for president. He had little to say when Elizabeth Warren slammed him for having called some women, at various times in the past, "fat broads" and "horse-faced lesbians." He seemed conflicted about stop-and-frisk. He was weak when confronted with his practice of making some women who worked for him sign non-disclosure agreements. But even with all that, Bloomberg saved the worst for last. It came after the fighting ended and NBC moderators asked for closing statements. If there were a time for Bloomberg to offer a vision for the country,

While some new jobs would be created to shift America’s economy toward renewable energy, many jobs would also be eliminated.
