Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who won the Democratic presidential primary in New Hampshire last week, is arguing that “the United States must find…the moral conviction to choose…democratic socialism.” “Today,” he said in a June 12, 2019 speech at George Washington University, “we have a demagogue in the White House who, for cheap political gain, is attempting to deflect the attention of the American people away from the real crises that we face and, instead, is doing what demagogues always do--and that is divide people up and legislate hatred.” (Video)

Liberals, socialists, communists... they are collectivists opposed to the individual and private property which are the bulwark against totalitarianism. Moral? Socialism, as proved for over a century everywhere, is the opposite of moral.

What you get with socialism is a different bunch of Fat Cats in charge of the money. The Fat Cats that run the government. You also get mass graves filled with the corpses of the dissenters who refuse to live under the yoke of an oppressive collectivist State. There ain't one damned thing democratic about socialism.

The only problem is that socialism is not democratic. Think of something else, if you can. That's like saying we need a heavenly hell on earth. Bernie will end up as the little engine that just couldn't. Try try try and he just can't make it happen here. The world's history books are filled with dreams of democratic socialism, Marxism and Communistic experiments on massive scales that ended up as gargantuan fails. We don't need one more well-intentioned effort. If your dream is socialism, head south to Cuba or Venezuela. Those countries have massive endless resources and money to fund your grandiose notions of wonderfulness. Just go and be happy.

Bernie must have the moral conviction to admit that the United States was built for his pleasure on the free market capitalism, private land ownership, freedom to assemble, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of commerce and so on. Many if not all of these freedoms will be sacrificed if his idea of "democratic socialism" prevails. What this old commie may do now to our country is truly frightening.

Democratic Socialism is an oxymoron. Unless Bernie is referring to pure socialism as it is currently embraced by the Democrat Party. It would be more correct (and less confusing) to say he's for socialism with Democrats in power.

Since Trump began running these politicians have been increasingly hysterical in their claims that he is a tyrant, is destroying democracy, is racist, etc. They know what they’re doing but don’t care. Democrats are scum and will end up causing the deaths of multiple people. And the MSM will blame Trump.

The Democratic Party’s establishment might well succeed in making Michael Bloomberg president of the United States—not on Election Night 2020, however. But it could happen if a third party were to win some electoral votes and, with no candidate receiving a majority of them, the House of Representatives was called upon to choose between the top-two electoral vote-getters. Today’s civil war within the Democratic Party makes it possible that two candidates will come from it: Bernie Sanders for the Woke Left, and Bloomberg for the establishment. In that case, enough establishment Republicans in the House might join their establishment Democratic colleagues to defeat Trump. This would realign U.S. politics:
