A 14-year-old male was arrested and charged in the December murder of Barnard College student Tessa Majors, the New York City Police Department announced Saturday. Majors, 18, was fatally stabbed on Dec. 11 while walking through Manhattan’s Morningside Park in an attack that left members of the community shaken. The 14-year-old, who was taken into custody Friday night, has been charged with one count of intentional murder, one count of felony murder, a count of first-degree robbery and three counts of second-degree robbery. The teen, who is being charged as an adult, is expected to be arraigned next Wednesday.

A sad story.
Of course, no ethnic info released. Likely a member of a violent urban subculture. And, of course, because of his age, he will, at worst, spend 7 years in "juvy" and then walk with a clean record. And likely will kill again.
A post-grad student for a research prof friend, was confronted by two about 12 YO black boys, one night when walking home. They pulled a knife, demanded money. He refused, was attacked, and punched the kid hard, knocking him down. Both kids ran off. The grad student realized he was bleeding and walked to the nearby university hospital emergency room. The wound was not life threatening, stitches and antibiotics and he was OK in a couple of weeks.
Some "little kids" are actually dangerous, violent, armed thugs, never be fooled by their age.

All violent urban youth confronting innocent people and displaying knives are dangerous because almost always they have never head of the concepts of proportion or empathy. In other words they could murder you in a moment and then run away with no thought of the damage they have done. In these cases the youth involved will spend some time in a juvenile lock up and then when they reach the age of majority will be cut loose on the street, without any job skills, and bound to enter into a life of crime and murder in most cases. The only defense for the innocent is to stay out of their way, and walking into an urban park to purchase illegal marihuana is not a way to do that.

We'll see if the "charged as an adult" will stand up. And there are cases now being re-examined of teens given life sentences which are being re-examined legally "because it isn't fair to them being sentenced this harshly as a child".....regardless of how vicious their crimes? I hope he spends his life away from innocent people, but I don't trust the bleeding hearts running the system.

Oh, wait, too many 'citizens', or are they 'subjects', must tug their forelocks and ask their betters for permission, only to be denied, in those anti-American garden spots. And those 'citizens' put up with being treated like serfs, even if it kills them.

My nephew ran track, in the under 12's I think it was 800 meters. I remember going to the State Championships to see him run, and some kids from the "big city" came in for the event. These 11 year old kids were well over 6 feet tall, were well muscled and looked like fully grown men. (They not only won/dominated every event they entered, they left the normal size 11 year olds in the dust.) I will never forget it. Just because a youth is 14 does not mean he's a little kid physically. As for mentally, emotionally and morally? Words cannot express. (And pardon my rant, but I blame Democrats entirely for the state of Black Americans in our inner cities. LBJ's "War on Poverty" was structured in such a way that tore apart millions of Black American families. Then there are the long failing public schools which Democrats (and the NAACP!) fight tooth and nail to keep as they are by always siding with the teachers' unions (who give the Democrats many millions of dollars and tens of thousands of volunteers every election), and opposing charter schools and vouchers. Shame, shame, shame. And these Democrats make the outrageous claim that they care about minority Americans.)

This beautiful, accomplished girl killed by a feral "teen," as usual. ----- The news writer could have at least called the victim "Miss Majors" rather than just "Majors." In almost any city you have to make assumptions and be prepared to act. If you have no means of self defense you are depending on the mercy of sadistic criminals. A horribly naive idea. At minimum have enough people with enough who are physically intimidating to make the criminals consider the odds and move on. If you are alone, be aware of distances and movements with your dominant hand on your defense. The first verbal interaction is the Red alert and any showing of any sort of weapon, certainly a knife, but also screwdrivers or box cutters, is the go command. It is a rock and a hard place, but plan for it and if possible avoid it. Your politicians don't care. The ones in power use slaughtered citizens as an excuse for more money to play with. The ones out of power promise that this sort of thing won't happen if you vote for them. Yet nothing changes. Rat mayors, rat leadership makes once great cities wastelands and troubled cities pits run by feral killers.

We have a generation without empathy. They see so much violence it means nothing to kill someone. If you are old enough to kill someone, you are old enough to die for the crime. They were teenagers. Put the guardians in jail too and take away their benefits. Their mothers are most likely in jail, on drugs, dead or disappeared leaving grandmothers to provide for them, but can't control them. We have a 13 year old who shot a 25 year old to death. Mom drugged out of her mind. Grandmother devastated.

Article correction: "A 14-year-old male was arrested" should read "A 14-year-old black male was arrested" There. Fixed it ya. If you don't like it, consider that if a Caucasian police officer shoots a negro perpetrator, the headline typically reads: "WHITE Police Officer Shoots BLACK (whatever) The Emphasis is on the WHITE Po-Po mercilessly Shoots a BLACK 'Victim'. The media is almost always on the side of the 'Person of Color' who committed the crime. Then the media wonders why crime is so prevalent in Democrat-controlled cities.

These thoughts reflect the writer's concern about the worsening political and social conditions in Germany, a nation whose importance — for America, Europe, and the world — should require no laboring to a readership of politically sophisticated Americans. What's happening today in Germany is deeply disturbing. And it's not for the reason casual American observers, including many conservatives, might think based on information derived from the mainstream English-language media. Contrary to these purveyors of globalist, multi-cultural propaganda, the reason for growing unease about Germany is not the presence in the German parliament (Bundestag), and persistent electoral strength, of "Die Alternative für Deutschland" ("The alternative for Germany," or AFD)

A comment published last week in Nature, a leading scientific journal, has thrown a monkey wrench into hundreds of studies and media stories that previously predicted dire climate consequences in the future due to increased carbon dioxide (CO2) in our atmosphere. The consequences were predicted by a computer model called Representative Carbon Pathways (RCP), and the worst-case scenario model, RCP8.5, had been cited more than 2,500 times in scientific journals and in hundreds of media stories as the primary need for "urgent action" on climate. Predictions from the RCP8.5 model suggested maximum global temperature increases of nearly 6°C (10.8°F) by the year 2100, shown in Figure 1.
