Why the 2020 presidential
campaign polls are misleading

One of the biggest mistakes that political analysts, especially those who spend a lot of time on Twitter, often make is they assume voters are as engaged in the process as they, or their audiences, are. The reality is that, largely due to media fragmentation, the “average” (more accurately, “median”) voter is even less educated in comparison to us news junkies, who have never had more information instantly available than what we can easily access today.

It's nice to see the curtain being pulled back on the innards of polling, it's distortions and general uselessness. The poll organizations, like the media, are an arm of the dem organization. The dems don't wasn't polls that expose their weaknesses. If they did such polls, they would know their best course would be to pack it in and wait until 2024 when Bernie, Liz, Joe, and Hillary are too old to run and Pete has gone back to play in his sandbox AND Trump is off the ballot. In 2020, they should just concede that Trump is Master of the Universe and call it a day.

If the median voter today is less educated, it has nothing to do with media fragmentation and everything to do with the fact their brains died years ago in the government school indoctrination system. Stupid people make good sheep.

DIMS Live and Die by Polls...too bad they are too stupid to know they are all rigged. The polls showing Hitlery would win in 2016 is a perfect example...they weren't even close and SHE LOST, BIG TIME!

Easy answer, because the polls can be manipulated in multiple ways to produce the results that the pollsters want. Even the pollsters can trick themselves or the people running by claiming the desired result, i.e. having Hillary winning in 2016 when Donald Trump clearly had the victory. I did not stay awake until 2 am on election night 2016 because I wanted to see Hillary give her slurred victory speech, I wanted to enjoy Donald Trump's win live and watch the talking heads on the alphabet networks crying their eyes out. My sleepy eyes at work the next day were soothed by the lamentations of a lot of liberal sad sacks around me.

A really rational and informed commentary, unlike most which are not informed and have no actual basis in fact that they launch from.

She was Juror No. 1261, and her examination by the federal court and counsel before the trial was anything but notable. And that is precisely the problem. Juror 1261, we now know, was Tomeka Hart. Her identity would have remained publicly unknown except for a public statement she made after the Department of Justice (DOJ) rescinded its initial sentencing recommendation for Trump confidant Roger Stone. In the midst of the firestorm of allegations of political interference, Hart disclosed that she was the foreperson on the Stone jury and gave a full-throated defense of the trial prosecutors: “It pains me to see the DOJ

Though we’re in the early stages of the 2020 campaign cycle, voters have already delivered a verdict on one thing: They are seeking a candidate that stands for something. On the Republican side, President Trump has gained full control of a party that once viewed him with suspicion — drawing only token opposition in the primaries. As president, he has mostly pursued the type of policies — a mix of traditional Republicanism with more populist stances on immigration and trade — that he campaigned on. And he has maintained the same smash mouth political style. Whether they like him or are repulsed by him,

With his Iowa and New Hampshire thumpings etched into the record books, it’s finally safe to say that Joe Biden's deepest problem as a candidate is that he can neither be taken literally nor seriously. I’m not talking here about Biden’s career-long talent for the gaffe, annotated most recently by Time, the New York Times, New Yorker, POLITICO, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and just about every other publication. Losing track of his place in a sentence or mistaking which decade he’s talking about in a story or starting to say Afghanistan when he means Ukraine have been embarrassing for Biden, but in no way

Jim Biden was in a bind. An investor had put up $1 million to help Jim and his nephew Hunter buy a hedge fund. Then it turned out that the fund’s assets were worth less than the Bidens had thought. Now the investor wanted its money back. It was December 2006, not long before Jim’s older brother and Hunter’s father, Joe Biden, then a Delaware senator, would announce his second campaign for president. Jim and Hunter Biden got a loan from a bank founded by one of Joe’s political backers — William Oldaker, an attorney for the senator’s presidential campaign and Hunter’s partner at a Washington law and lobbying firm.

Anyone could have told you in 2017 that convicted felon Michael Avenatti was bad news. But the media just cannot help themselves. Avenatti talked a big game about “resisting” President Trump, and he represented a woman who alleged criminal conduct by the president. That was enough to catapult him from relative obscurity to stardom, his face plastered everywhere by the news and entertainment industries. On Friday, Avenatti was found guilty of trying to extort Nike. This is obviously not great for the celebrity lawyer, who faces additional charges of tax, wire, and bank fraud in California and fraud and aggravated identity theft charges in New York.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) issued a scathing denunciation of the mainstream media on Friday, accusing several outlets of ignoring her campaign in favor of lesser candidates and blaming that coverage in part for her campaign's failure to gain traction with primary voters. In an email to supporters on Friday, Warren's campaign said it could no longer "count on the media to cover our campaign fairly." It argued that other candidates, such as former vice president Joe Biden, received more coverage despite posting less impressive results in early primary states.

I’ve spent much of the past two weeks in Iowa and New Hampshire covering the Democratic presidential nominating contests—hours upon hours of talking with Democratic voters, meeting with volunteers and activists, going to campaign rallies and field offices, and generally immersing myself in the chaos and consternation of the Democratic primary. Because I work for a right-of-center publication, that means talking to people all day long who fundamentally disagree with me about politics, and often much else. In some cases, I know that my views are repugnant to the person I’m talking to, and that if they knew what I thought

I know a couple of people who are going to be in trouble with the Woke Science Community. Colin M. Wright, an evolutionary biologist at Penn State, and Emma N. Hilton, a developmental biologist at the University of Manchester, have collaborated on an article published in the Wall Street Journal this week. They put forth the revolutionary and highly controversial theory that human beings are born as one of two distinct sexes, male and female. And no amount of philosophical meandering is going to change the incontrovertible medical fact that sex is binary and does not exist on some sort of “spectrum.” First, they deal with the argument

In December 2015, employees at Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun control organization funded by Mike Bloomberg, arrived at work to find a holiday gift on their desks from their employer: the former mayor’s 1997 autobiography, Bloomberg by Bloomberg. Flipping through the book, staffers found themselves uncomfortably reading their billionaire founder’s boasts about keeping “a girlfriend in every city” and other womanizing exploits as a Wall Street up-and-comer. “A few people started immediately going through it and sending the cringe-iest parts around on email chains,” one former Everytown employee told me. “Hardly the most controversial things he’s said, but it’s still a bad look.”

When Donald Trump won his historic upset victory in 2016, media outlets briefly turned to the "forgotten" men and women of rural America and those in once-great American cities now crumbling. The "Great Revolt," as Salena Zito explains it, describes a political realignment aimed at revitalizing broken communities. Yet according to a groundbreaking new film, the true answer to urban decay, broken families, and ballooning debt from dependence on social programs isn't more government but a return to the traditional sources of meaning: faith, family, work, and community. Filmmaker Christopher Rufo traveled to three crumbling American cities — Youngstown, Ohio; Memphis, Tenn.; and Stockton, Calif. —

The tweet was quickly deleted after users criticized the agency for celebrating a white man during Black History Month, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Now that as many as six serious Democratic candidates remain in the race, pundits increasingly believe the party is headed for a brokered convention. Hold on to your hats if that happens, because it’s even more complicated than it sounds. Presidential nominating conventions used to be “brokered” because the delegates were largely appointed by — and loyal to — political bosses. Delegates voted on multiple ballots as rivals vied for the bosses’ favor, making the quadrennial events the political equivalent of reality television. You could never be sure which governor or senator would be voted off the island and which would become the ultimate survivor.

During the hearing, called “The Infant Patient: Ensuring Appropriate Medical Care for Children Born Alive,” Republican senators questioned why a baby born in a hospital should be treated differently than a baby born in an abortion facility. Democrats, lacking an answer, changed the subject. Thirteen committee senators heard from five female witnesses, three who shared powerful testimony and two who expressed concerns about the bill.
