Global Warming In a Few Charts

Original Article

Climate change hysteria has been dialed up to 11 over the last year or two. Greta Thunberg, the Swedish teenager who knows little or nothing about the subject, apparently will continue being nominated for a Nobel Prize until she wins one. But, hype aside, what is actually going on with the Earth’s climate? Anthony Watts offers seven charts that show the effects of the last decade of alleged global warming. The first one has to do with the beneficial effects of increasing CO2–plant food–in the atmosphere. From a quarter to half of Earth’s vegetated lands has shown significant greening over the last 35 years

I see nothing wrong with a little warming, crops would have longer growing seasons, people would not have to burn so much fuel to heat their homes, there by saving money.

I find it ironic that people who would have me believe the Earth has been here for billions of years are trying to convince me of something based on a 35 year trend.

The charts are great but they aren't telling us anything new. Warming is a fake concern. We knew that. The problem is, warming, like impeachment, is more a political concern now. Like impeachment, warming is based on fake evidence but that didn't stop the dems from pushing it and continuing to push it. It took political will to stop impeachment. It will take political will to stop the idiocy associated with warming. The people of the world have already decided that warming isn't as big a concern as the political hysteria tries to make it. That's a start. If a political tool loses its impact, politicians will drop it. We are already seeing many politicians stop mentioning it unless asked. When Trump dropped support for the Paris accords, they lost their appeal, which was as a tool to beat up the US. The US was no longer going to be held back by European shackles. To remain competitive, Europe couldn't afford to play the climate game either. When the political tools actually become damaging to the politicians, they will be dropped. Climate "science" has been debunked for a while. Now it's time to debunk the politicians that support it.

It's a little like psychoanalyzing the executioner on your way up the gallows but I do find the phenomenon of the global warming faithful a fascinating study in human behavior. The purveyors of this astounding fraud have been busted time and time again for lying, simply making the whole thing up and it has barely made a dent in their support. Marshall Applewhite, Charles Manson, and Jim Jones, have nothing on this.

In an already tight market, I feel sorry for the automobile manufacturers who are "getting ahead" of the problem by setting dates when they will be "all electric." They will die an agonizing death and those who have continued to improve gasoline engine efficiency will come out smelling like roses. The electric car may make sense to some city dwellers who can plug them in overnight but it will never serve as an all-purpose vehicle in the vast open stretches of America. An entire infrastructure must be in place to either swap batteries or install electric rails and it has to be in place before the cars are sold. Only a government is stupid enough to attempt that. Overall warming is nearly impossible to measure but they still try and continue to fudge the numbers. Sea rise fluctuates 3.5mm per year due to sediment and seasonal melting and re-freezing of ice, roughly one third the diameter of a good pistol round. This hoax will continue until something more scary is found, like a new virus or a race of underground zombies.

I love the world map showing more green leaves everywhere but the Sahara and Greenland. THAT is winning for the planet. THAT is a "green program" that actually works. MORE CO2. THAT is proof that more CO2 is a benefit to life on this planet, not a "pollutant" which these fools claim without any facts.

Why Wasn’t Andrew McCabe Charged? 4 replies

The Justice Department announced Friday that it is closing its investigation of Andrew McCabe, the FBI’s former deputy director, over his false statements to investigators probing an unauthorized leak that McCabe had orchestrated. McCabe was fired in March 2018, shortly after a blistering Justice Department inspector general (IG) report concluded that he repeatedly and blatantly lied — or, as the Bureau lexicon puts it, “lacked candor” — when questioned, including under oath. Why not indict McCabe on felony false-statements charges? That is the question being pressed by incensed Trump supporters. After all, the constitutional guarantee of equal justice under the law is supposed to mean

Michael Bloomberg’s campaign has leaked to the Drudge Report that Bloomberg is considering asking Hillary Clinton to be his running mate. This story doesn’t have much significance, on its face; the fact that a candidate is “considering” something isn’t exactly news. But it does reflect a few things: 1) I take it that Bloomberg is trying to beef up his bona fides as a “real” Democrat. It isn’t going to work: Democratic voters are not going to turn out for someone who endorsed George W. Bush in 2004 and enthusiastically advocated stop and frisk, among other heresies.

Rodrigo Duterte, the ever-unpredictable president of the Philippines, has given official notice to terminate the Visiting Forces Agreement that governs the presence of U.S. military personnel. Among other complaints, he said Americans were rude and failed to leave their weapons after conducting military exercises on the islands. The VFA will conclude in six months, which actually is great news. Although Americans always believed in continental expansion — even Thomas Jefferson spoke of an Empire of Liberty — “salt water imperialism” was alien to the nation’s founding. Proposals to turn America into a traditional colonial power by conquering foreign peoples generated strong opposition. After all, Americans had revolted against their British masters.

Back in November, we learned that disgraced former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh had avoided a messy trial by pleading guilty to multiple counts of corruption and tax evasion. This all stemmed from her self-dealing scheme to “sell” hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of her self-published “Healthy Holly” children’s books to people and businesses who had dealings with the University of Maryland Medical System, where Pugh sat as a board member. At the time, I wondered what sort of deal she had cut with the prosecutors in exchange for the guilty plea. Whatever other information she provided to the state might not have turned out

Fifteen year’s later, the check is still in the mail. The Rev. Al Sharpton’s failed 2004 presidential campaign still owes more than $900,000. The unpaid debt of his committee, “Sharpton 2004,” has remained unchanged for a decade, according to its most recent FEC filing in March 2019. The campaign has not filed any of its required disclosure forms since then, earning multiple letters of rebuke from the feds. “If committees are unable to pay debts, they can file a debt-settlement plan with the FEC . . . committees could not just decide not to pay,” a spokesman from the Federal Election Commission told The Post.

President Trump is taking part in this year’s Daytona 500. Not as a driver, but as grand marshal, which means he gets to give the “start your engines” command to the 43 entrants in the Great American Race. It’ll mark the first time a president, sitting or former, has ever uttered the words at the event. The only other time a sitting president attended the race as grand marshal was when George W. Bush came in 2004, the year Dale Earnhardt Jr. won his first 500.

President Trump gets credit — and takes heat — for many things, but many folks don’t even know about one of his best accomplishments: blocking the federal government’s power grab for control of America’s suburbs. During the Obama administration, the Department of Housing and Urban Development tried to install Washington bureaucrats as the decision makers for how communities across all 50 states should grow. Using an obscure rule called Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, HUD sought to remake America’s cities, towns and villages by forcing any community that was getting federal funds to meet racial quotas.

Hold on to your hats if that happens, because it’s even more complicated than it sounds. Presidential nominating conventions used to be “brokered” because the delegates were largely appointed by — and loyal to — political bosses. You could never be sure which governor or senator would be voted off the island and which would become the ultimate survivor.

“So mayor Pete is a Red Diaper baby! This explains a lot … ” So writes Charlie, a longtime reader of mine and of The American Spectator. Please note that Charlie didn’t call Pete a red, but a red-diaper baby. There’s a difference. And either way, it’s a point that isn’t irrelevant and should be dealt with and laid out carefully. Charlie sent me that email back in October and urged me to write about the subject. Given Mayor Pete’s surge in the polls, and given my repeated run-ins with the said “red-diaper” background Charlie is referring to, I finally decided to put something together. But there is another question: Would anyone be discussing Bloomberg absent his $55 billion fortune? The answer, of course, is no. But, for the moment, with Bloomberg having never been in a debate, with few voters having seen him, and with none having had a chance to vote when his name is on the ballot,

NEW YORK CITY Is it possible that President Trump has already beaten Sen. Bernard Sanders? Four years ago, Bernie Bros stormed Iowa and took over the Democratic caucuses. Party leaders for the second time had crowned former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee already, and for the second time an unlikely interloper swooped in and smacked the crown off the top of her head. Mrs. Clinton had already been denied the nomination once eight years before. Party leaders and the Clinton Mafia were not about to let that happen again. They unleashed all the political dogs of war after Mr. Sanders and his wildly enthusiastic foot soldiers.
