Medal of Honor recipient MSG Leroy Petry defended President Donald Trump’s decision to fire LTC Alexander Vindman, saying that Vindman had shown he couldn’t be trusted.(Snip)
Petry went on to explain that Vindman, according to friends who had been with the lieutenant colonel in Ranger School, had referred to him as a “chow thief” and had not thought highly of him even then. “In ranger school, [they] said he couldn’t be trusted. They tried peering him out. They said, ‘Well, I guess it hasn’t changed much.’ Usually folks that try to make a big statue of something, what we call spotlighters in the military, trying to highlight themselves as

Petry guested on this morning’s Fox & Friends.
FTA:
Hegseth jumped back in then to “translate” some of the military jargon Petry had used to describe Vindman, saying, “Chow thief, meaning that when there is limited food, you’re taking some so you can have some and your buddies don’t. Spotlight ranger is someone who, when the spotlight is on, you do a great job when spotlight is off, you’re not necessarily helping your buddies. And peered out means your fellow peers are voting against you to graduate from that particular school.”

I still say Vindman deserves to be court-martialled for breaking Chan of command. He tried to undermine his commanding officer.

He always looked like a BUFU.
Interesting to hear what others in Ranger School thought of him. Would be good to hear from his blackhats, to hear why he wasn't peered. Maybe the Army was desperate for foreign language specialists.

I wonder who Lt Col Vindman's rabbi is? If your character defects are that obvious among your peers and you still advance up the career ladder, someone is pulling strings for you.

I think he is a plant by either Russia or the Ukraine. How did he ever make it into the Army officer ranks as well as the NSC? This should be investigated.

He's the epitome of every clueless, dangerous shavetail I've ever had the displeasure of knowing. I don't know how he made it past 2LT. The thought of any enlisted person having to take orders from that trainwreck turns my stomach.

Judging by his appearance in uniform the other month, it looks like the pudgy officer is still chowing down too much and not spending enough time on the grinder.

LTC Alexander Vindman definitely should not have worn his US Army dress uniform when he appeared before that congressional committee. As his appearance had nothing to do with the Army, with his subject matter testimony totally being related to his temporary detail to the civilian NSC at the White House where he wore civilian clothing daily, along with the fact that the President did not want White House staff to testify before that committee. You can bet that the reason that Vindman wore his dress uniform is that both he and the anti-Trump and anti-Military leftist and liberal Democrat politicians and political operatives who Vindman colluded with on or connected to the congressional committee thought that wearing the uniform would give Vindman additional credibility then he otherwise would have as a glorified NSC Ukrainian interpreter at the NSC, and serve as a big time snub to the President as the Commander in Chief of the military. Now all we need is for Joe Biden who just glorified Vindman as a national hero at a campaign stop to come out and announce that MSG Petry does not know what he is talking about!

Having gone through Ranger School, I can tell you that there's nothing lower on the face of this planet than a "chow thief," especially in the swamp phase, where you get one ration per day along with 2 to 3 hours of sleep a night. We had two chow thieves in my patrol who were left guarding the gear when we went out on our mission. I returned eagerly expecting to cozy up with my C-ration can of Spaghetti, and it was GONE - all of it. Had I wanted to flunk out, I would have beaten each of them within an inch of their useless lives. Doesn't do any good to tell the Ranger Instructor either, he'll just say, "That sounds like a personal problem, Ranger." The Peer Review process can be used to kick out a slacker, or get him recycled. When the team is tight and good, everyone goes round robin with their black mark so that no one Ranger student gets flunked. That time we creamed those two punks and they were GONE from the course.

These types were not good to have around in combat situations either.

I wish we'd had the term "spotlighter" in the Air Force. There are a few in every squadron. They go far beyond just the usual in-shop bragging and take credit for other peoples' work while being only marginally involved (if that). You can tell who they are because they get the medals and promotions first.

Vindman is a non-team player, and a fat boy, a food thief in Ranger training. What a guy.
I really hope he gets court martialed for insubordination, going outside the Chain of Command, and there should be a few other items to charge him with.

Based on his looks, I'm guessing the "chow thief" epithet is true.
Didn't Vindman also get caught ridiculing the US to the Russian troops at one time?

Petry is outlining a typical demonrat...stealing food, faking helping others out, then back to lazy, etc. How did that overweight POS ever able to graduate Ranger school? Did some demonrat politician threaten the school with no more funding?
