The New York Times’ 1619 Project — a curriculum that makes the fantastical claim that a primary cause of the Revolutionary War was the colonists’ desire to protect slavery — has been adopted in 3,500 classrooms across all 50 states. For this reason, some of the nation’s most renowned historians have called for The Times to correct this and other factual errors. The Pulitzer Center, which is partnering with The Times to promote The 1619 Project, recounted in its 2019 annual report, “Good journalism, innovative educational resources, and deep community engagement are absolutely essential to bridging the divisions that threaten to rip our democracy apart.

Forget expecting the Federal government to rescue your school system. It is up to YOU to attend every school meeting, up to YOU to talk to your child's history teachers and up to YOU to protest to the school principal and to back it up with a parents' lawsuit if needed. This is disgraceful, but about what one would expect after actual communists were allowed total control of the educational system in this country.

Commie propaganda, pure and simple. No wonder kids come out of public school dumb as a fence post. But hey, they know everything there is to know about sex and how to demonstrate and tear buildings and businesses down.

Why is The Enemy of the People being allowed to spread its poison with no repercussions? Turning children into enemy agents is not freedom of speech and it is not education.

"In 1830 there were 3,775 such black slaveholders in the South who owned a total of 12,760 slaves" from Wikipedia. I wonder if this stat is being taught to the kids? Also if black people of today are looking for reparations, someone should find out if there are any blacks who are related to any of the black slaveholders and include them in the reparation payment.

Betsy Devos, please pick up the white courtesy phone. The first thing that should have been done as Secretary of Education was a complete review of curriculum grades K-12. What has she done? Our heritage and history is being erased by progressives who have no intention of teaching truth to our children. Their goal is to teach every subject through their lens. She could have been a real crusader for a curriculum that teaches real truth and jettisons the social justice “let’s hate America garbage” that has been force fed to our children. Progressives know if they can indoctrinate children early, they will have them for life which is why you are seeing all the LGBT nonsense brought in at such any early age. Many teachers coming out of college are raging leftists who are filling young minds with nothing but pure rubbish. Parents must be vigilant. They have to know what is being taught and if they find out it is not appropriate or accurate, they must advocate strongly against it. Education is too micromanaged by the federal and state governments. Give more control to the local school boards and stop the excessive testing. This unending data collection is not benefiting our children. Have you seen a Kindergarten Report Card lately? It is a ridiculously complex mess. The massive amounts of money are not getting where it needs to be. Administration is soaking up the lion’s share while the teachers are forced to test for testing’s sake and struggle to get funds for supplies. Every expenditure requires massive paperwork. Most teachers want to get on with teaching but are burdened with excessive paperwork. They have to walk on egg shells for fear of offending some group. Political correctness makes the profession a nightmare. Ms. Devos should take the opportunity to make real change. She should put together a task force comprised of traditionally minded teachers who will educate her on the problems they face daily. The chaos regarding discipline is another massive problem but one that needs to be addressed by some parents who make teaching so difficult because they undermine classroom discipline. Right now, the system is broken. It needs to be restored and that takes hard work from the homes of students to the administration willing to make big changes in the philosophy of teaching and finally to the teacher laboring in the classroom to teach. There are wonderful dedicated teachers out there who are leaving the profession in droves because they are burned out by an oppressive process forced on them. Get the bureaucracy off their backs, stop the excessive testing, and send them students who understand respect for authority, trash the progressive curriculum and watch the kids soar. Right now Ms. Devos is not getting the job done for America’s children and our country is suffering greatly for it.

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Former President Barack Obama hasn't endorsed anyone in the 2020 Democratic primary, but ads from six White House hopefuls would leave voters with another impression.Obama, an intensely popular Democratic Party figure, has featured in spots produced by Joe Biden, Michael Bloomberg, Tulsi Gabbard, Deval Patrick, Tom Steyer, and Elizabeth Warren — Biden, Bloomberg, and Warren, in particular, using snippets of speeches he's given about them to give the appearance he's narrating the ad.Obama's silence, seen by many as a snub of Biden, his two-term vice president, has left open the possibility that the remaining top contenders

Without Republican control of the Senate in 2020, much less recovering control of the House of Representatives, the impact of a second Trump term will be profoundly diminished.Left-wing billionaires like Michael Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, Donald Sussman, James Simons, George Soros, Kenneth Griffin, Stephen Schwarzman, Fred Eychaner, Karla Jurvetson, and Jeff Bezos have contributed hundreds of millions of dollars almost exclusively to Democrats

Many media observers will recall the New York Times’ response to Donald Trump’s unexpected victory in 2016. In their subtle, tacit admission that the paper had covered the election with some bias, publisher Arthur Sulzberger, Jr. and editor Dean Baquet promised to “rededicate” themselves to the fundamental mission of the Times and to bring “fairness” to their coverage.Other mainstream news outlets and journalists issued similar mea culpas. Just about all of them had treated Trump’s campaign and supporters with an attitude of spiteful hilarity. The great irony in the media’s hatred, of course, is that his rise would not have been possible without them and their vain attempt to hijack

The most important thing that happened during President Trump’s post-impeachment rant at the White House didn’t happen at the lectern. Yes, as usual, he called me a sleaze and scum and a dirty cop and said he likely would no longer be president if he hadn’t fired me. Although I still can’t follow the logic of that last bit, it doesn’t matter. They laughed and smiled and clapped as a president of the United States lied, bullied, cursed and belittled the faith of other leaders. That was the deeply disturbing

Joe Biden brought his “No Malarkey” tour to a New Hampshire debate stage on Friday night. But in promising to tell the truth, he accidentally exposed his own doleful (or I should say, Bob Dole-ful) prospects in Tuesday’s opening-gun primary. In his first words of the debate—the moment when candidates are usually the most scripted—Biden confessed, “I took a hit in Iowa and I’ll probably take a hit here.” It was a novel campaign strategy; few candidates ever say, “Vote for me because I’m going to lose here.” If his comments were a brief misstep in an otherwise smooth debate, it would have been one thing.

Democratic Illinois Rep. Jesús García, along with several other progressive House members, introduced the New Way Forward Act in December 2019, to seemingly little fanfare. The bill, among many things, calls for the decriminalization of illegal immigration, would make it more difficult to deport convicted criminal aliens, empower immigration judges to nullify deportation orders, and also calls for the return of previously deported illegal aliens.
