The Wuhan coronavirus spreading from China is now likely to become a pandemic that circles the globe, according to many of the world’s leading infectious disease experts. The prospect is daunting. A pandemic — an ongoing epidemic on two or more continents — may well have global consequences, despite the extraordinary travel restrictions and quarantines now imposed by China and other countries, including the United States. Here's a good place to track the virus (and it is free) https://trackcoronavirus.com/map Of course the NYT wants to spread panic like they do on all progressive causes. I've watched the track over the last several days and it is growing mostly in China and minimally in all other countries. Hence, it depends on China to contain it.

Cheer up! Your local grocery store and gas stations will be selling "coronavirus shots" just as soon as they get the signs printed! Can't miss out on the panic.

I just wonder . . . is this how China "solves" some of their population problems (such as the inability to feed everyone and a way to deal with those pesky revolutionists)?

The best way to track this pandemic is right here... https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 Many believe that the number of dead in China far exceeds what they've admitted so far. Elderly and children will no doubt be killed by this super-virus with its genetically engineered HIV-stems that attach to respiratory cells. It's doubtful the Asian custom of wearing paper masks will be in the least bit effective in stopping this. Quarantines, like border walls, do work.

Biowarfare: intentional and mistakenly "uncontained" and released in Wuhan. Evidence ("banned" but "Yeah, it's probably true..." from Fake News). THE Chinese have combo'd some kind of killer pneumonia with HIV proclivity. Mr. Salvni is RIGHT. Red Alert Emergency shut down in Italy. Dramatic, but so was the Black Plague. Slam the door shut Mr. President. Salvini is not over-reacting.

despite the extraordinary travel restrictions and quarantines now imposed by China and other countries, including the United States What restrictions did the U.S. impose? Of their own accord a couple of airlines canceled a bunch of flights to/from Wuhan a few weeks after the outbreak in China became headlines. Has any meaningful quarantine actually been imposed on travelers who passed through China? Or has everybody been too afraid of being labeled racist to propose such a thing?

Donald Trump's most famous and flamboyant lawyer vanished from his trial Thursday - turning up in Miami to fight back against a tidal wave of criticism for his extraordinary defense that anything a president does to get re-elected is unimpeachable. The Harvard professor surfaced in Florida as other academics and attorneys reacted with astonishment to his position, which he then said he had never actually said. On CNN he told Wolf Blitzer that he had a commitment in the state Thursday and it was difficult to change his flight because the Super Bowl is on this weekend in Miami.

Senator Susan Collins’ speech announcing her vote for Justice Kavanaugh was so memorably principled and well put that her fans — the Sun included — will grant her license to vote however she wants in respect of President Trump. Not that she needs anyone’s license. Yet we don’t mind saying that the principles the senator articulated in the Kavanaugh case beckon in the case of Mr. Trump for an early acquittal. The principal principle Ms. Collins marked in the Kavanaugh case was due process. Here’s how she put it in what we predicted would become famous words:

Where is the economic meltdown? Where is the tyrannical usurpation of power? Where? During the only presidential debate of 1980, Ronald Reagan cemented his legacy as “The Great Communicator” by asking one simple question, “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” Reagan’s question to the nation not only framed the election of 1980 in the most succinct and relatable terms,

Schiff disagreed with the president’s lawyers, who argued that Trump’s actions were not criminal and should thus not be considered impeachable. He warned that they were setting a precedent that would only encourage Trump to pursue “unacceptable” actions if exonerated. “Trump could offer Alaska to the Russians in exchange for support in the next election,” he said. “Or decide to move to Mar-a-Lago personally and let Jared Kushner run the country, delegating to him the decision whether to go to war.”
