One-party blue city San Francisco has a corruption problem.
Turns out the sewage on the streets isn't the only thing filthy about San Francisco. Its man in charge of that clean-up, Mohammed Nuru, was busted with a septic tank full of corruption charges.
According to the San Francisco Examiner:
In the biggest public corruption scandal to shake City Hall since 2015, [San Francisco Public Works Director Mohammed] Nuru and local entrepreneur Nick Bovis of famed Union Square sports bar Lefty O’Doul’s have each been charged with one count of wire fraud.
Nuru, 57, and Bovis, 56, allegedly attempted to bribe an airport commissioner to help win a bid for a restaurant

Mohammed needs to take his left hand and start scooping up all that poop. It’s his way after all.

San Fran will never fix their homeless problem. Without the homeless there would be no poop to clean up and no lucrative contracts to suck up tax payer dollars. There’s big bucks apparently in cocky-doody.....

Several years ago, I was doing contract work in the San Francisco area. I remember going through the BART station and someone had smeared feces all over the ticket machines. What is it with SF and poop?

The problem was, the commissioner probably had a higher offer from another food establishment. Nobody in California's large cities gets those types of jobs without being on the take, from the mayor on down. Just as it is in Chicago, palm greasing is a way of life. Mohammed is just being a good Muslim.

For those unaccustomed to the smell, use a little Mentholatum in the nasal passages to help mask the stench.

"bribe an airport commissioner to help win a bid for a restaurant" - I thought that is how it worked everywhere, not just San Fran.

Silly people! You actually thought that the Public Works Department existed to clean up the city (insert name of Democrat-hack controlled city here). Nope, it exists to grease palms, reward favored people, and line the pockets of the local pols and head bureaucrats.

What is it with liberals and poop. They seem always concerned with bathrooms and restrooms. Their humor tends scatological.

Because they have to answer to voters, SF Supervisors at least have the appearance of trying to help find solutions to the City's problems, (although, typically their solution is to just throw more money at every problem). But beyond SF's politicians, the City has other major problems as well:
the City is choking on self-interested (and sometimes, as in Nuru's case, corrupt) civil servants and their all powerful unions. As with all civil service protected jobs, firing an incompetent employee is almost impossible. Then there are the many, many, taxpayer supported "non-profits" in which administrators pay themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in salaries plus benefits. Because the non-profits are supposed to be helping a PC victim group, no one dares investigate the non-profits. It was once such a beautiful city, the current seemingly hopeless quagmire really is a shame. And yes, another example of how Leftists destroy everything they touch.

It's hard to believe that some segments of American society have sunk to this.
Shame on the Democrat politicians in California for permitting this to continue.
Then again, California voters keep putting them back in office.
How bad does it have to get before a leader, from either side, steps forth and grabs this problem by the throat?
Dr. Drew perhaps?

I hope this helps someone prevent their town from turning into a town like Rock Ridge in Blazing Saddles.
I live in the Bay Area. San Francisco has always been corrupt but started going extremely sideways when Dianne Feinstein stepped down in 1988. She was replaced by "Red Art" Agnos, who sponsored the first major homeless infestation near City Hall. The next year, 1989, San Francisco became one of the first "sanctuary cities". Downhill from there.
Recently, the voters in MY town elected an SJW-dominated City Council and things started going sideways. Being SJWs, they immediately started passing bad laws. Rebel political groups began springing up..
In one of these group meetings, I pulled a former City Council member to the side and told him I thought that the SJW clique were crooks that were on the take, but I couldn't figure out from whom.
His answer was no, they weren't taking bribes exactly. But what they DID do was play to power groups for campaign contributions. That's because they think if they continue winning elections, they will accumulate followers. They give these followers no-show jobs. Then these followers accumulate their own followers and push the original SJW forward.
Voila, you now have a corrupt political machine in your town.
