Why Are Republicans Settling for

It’s a shame that so many Republicans are calling for a quick impeachment trial and the inevitable acquittal of Donald Trump. It seems more than a bit shortsighted. Why should Republicans settle for an acquittal when we can accomplish so much more? The Democrats have laid a trap for themselves with this absurd impeachment farce and their demand for witnesses in the Senate trial. Let’s oblige them in their efforts to destroy themselves.

No matter how this ends, we can bank on the democrats and their media enablers to spin this as a republican coverup, etc. If the defense destroys the prosecution, did it really happen if it doesnt get and coverage?

I think they are doing so, because so much of our law is built on tradition. They do not want the Democrats to have a foot in the door to claim the process of a fake Impeachment as it was done in the house is a valid process. By calling for witnesses, they give a totally unconstitutional process the appearance of validity. By shutting it done they are establishing that not following the due process and in the constitutionally defined committee cannot be tolerated. Frankly, after this is shut down, there is nothing to stop Congress either now or after the election, from starting an investigation of ALL the illegalities we've suffered through. We can investigate and nail the Bidens. We can investigate the illegal activities of Democrats in general as part of a wider conspiracy. Crime with a flag on the wall is what Trump is fighting through. If we want a real United States of America, following the Founder's intent, we have to clean house. Then we have to look one another in the eye and say, "We're not leaving power in the hands of Lawyers and used-car salesmen, anymore."

Because Trump is entitled to an acquital. The trial is personal to Trump. If the Republicans want to try the Democrat criminal gang, they can call the hearing and do that. They could have done so for the last couple of years. But the Republicans have issued no indictments, held no hearings, released no documents, all despite controlling the government.

I want to be first with the guess for what the Democrats will try next after impeachment fails. Either (a) they have discovered memos proving Trump is an agent of the Galactic Empire (actually, Hillary is), or (b) he went to China once so he has to be put in quarantine for all our sakes. It will be one or the other.

It doesn’t take a financial genius to know that if Trump is removed from office the stock market would crash and there would be rioting in the streets nationwide and serious hell to pay for those responsible. Total victory in ending it more. Dismiss the case based on its merit which is no merit at all.

The problem with ''total acquittal'' is that it wouldn't change anyone's minds. The democrats and their base will still hate President Trump, and will find various reasons to cry foul (with the help of their media). Everyone else already knows or believes that the democrats are dirty, anti-American criminals. The better option that I have been hearing is to get the impeachment business over with, clear the decks, focus on the elections, and get control of the House back from the criminals. Then, in term 2, Indictments and prosecutions can begin for all the guilty conspirators- both elected officials, as well as bureaucrats. There seems to be some media people with significant exposure too.

They have no reason to call witnesses..It only gives the Dems a reason to drag this out with more lies and the media kissing up to them because they might have to try reporting real stuff. It would be bad for their ratings worse than ever. I think it should be stopped and everyone should be dismissive of that whole gang of criminals.I hope FOX will resist the urge to have the Libs on .

If Lindsay Graham had done any investigating in the Senate Committee he chairs, then none of this would be necessary. Shut down this Impeachment farce, remove Graham from his chairmanship, and let the Senate do a proper investigation, without the meddlesome House interference.

Since the Articles and the hearing that spawned them are based solely on the democrats tantrum because Hildabeest lost, the Senate was not required to even listen to this in the first place IMO. If one listened to Mr. Philbin's explanation of Due Process, and proper attention to actual rules, Pelosi ignored all the proper rules, and went for some democrat feel good instead. But at least the democrats are getting a hearing of their farce, and they cannot claim that the GOP ignored their Articles farce. If the next couple days is anything like Saturday's appetizer, the democrats are in for a heck of a beatdown.

At the very least, turning this into the OJ Trial would put people to sleep and we need to be wide awake to thwart the media's plans to do so. It's that important.

It's because the pubbies fear loss of the Senate control in November. The dims and msm would spend the rest of the year screaming senate coverup and pubbies are unable to push back. Might be a stretch, but, also thinking that the pubbies want to clear the impeachment deck with acquittal and make space for Barr and Durham to announce who will be tried for Spygate. We'll see.

I think the democrat suicide has already been accomplished. Now it's all a question of how vigorously we want to dance on the grave. The republicans may want to maintain order and not shame them too much but out here, it's time to go deep in the cellar and get the good moonshine.

Of course #2 nailed it but we aren’t supposed to be noticing things like that. Its been funny watching Lindsey dancing round about how the trial should proceed. I bet he is in contact with the McCain family. They do not want any more discussion popping up about that fraudulent Steele dossier. Senator Graham wants no mention of the name John McCain. He also will protect the Bidens.

Trump Must Nix Big Agriculture’s Bid to Use Coronavirus to Slash Farm Wages 9 replies

As the country came to grips with the coronavirus pandemic, the Trump administration asked the working people of America to comply with containment measures. For some 20 million Americans, that came at the cost of their jobs. But for some workers, Team Trump could add post-crisis misery to their current pains. Over the weekend, NPR reported that Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue is pushing the White House for big changes to the Adverse Effect Wage Rate, or AEWR, “to reduce wage rates for foreign guest workers on American farms.” But that’s not the full story. These changes will affect American citizens.

Over the past two or three decades it has been fashionable for international relations theorists, politicians, and mainstream media pundits to claim that the Westphalian nation state was moribund, obsolete, and rapidly diminishing in importance. They claimed that various transnational and regional mechanisms and institutions—the European Union being a prime example—were irreversibly taking over its functions. This was treated both as a fact and as a praiseworthy development. The Western elite class embodied in the guest list of annual bashes at Davos promoted and heartily embraced the globalist outlook in general and the mantra of multiculturalism in particular.

As Americans struggle to stem the spread of the Wuhan virus, the Republican Party is considering bringing Wuhan to a suburb near you. According to a Politico exclusive, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is leading an effort to increase the number of EB-5 visas offered to wealthy immigrants, supposedly to salve the economy as the crisis caused by the pandemic worsens. Between 2012 and 2018, about 80 percent of EB-5 visas went to Chinese investors. Jared Kushner reportedly is also heavily involved in this scheme. Established by Congress in 1990, the EB-5 program strips the salience from American citizenship.

President Trump’s rhetoric is aimed at the heart of the American worker, but his policies have delivered one gut punch after another. Now three administration officials have confirmed plans to invite 45,000 seasonal guest workers this summer under the H-2B visa program—the most since Trump sailed into the White House on a working-class wave. Record numbers of H-2B visas, moreover, is merely one car in a long train of lousy news delivered to the forgotten men and women who Trump promised “will be forgotten no longer.” Thirty-four Republicans signed off on amnesty for an estimated 1.5 million foreign nationals.

In January 1956, John F. Kennedy published Profiles in Courage, biographical encomia to eight U.S. senators, from John Quincy Adams to Robert Taft, whom Kennedy thought exhibited conspicuous courage in the discharge of their public duties. I say Kennedy published Profiles in Courage. But the book was written not by JFK but by the loyal Kennedy apparatchik and fixer Ted Sorensen. Sorenson, like so many in the Kennedy circle, was a bit thuggish. He was also an eloquent writer.

The recent troubles with Iran highlight the problem with America First nationalism: it would mean placing the interests of regular people at home before transnational “interests” like foreign wars that have no bearing on middle-American life. Put another way, real people living in a real country with real interests of their own have a real problem with really stupid government and the real Stupid Party, otherwise known as the Republicans, that enables bad government while pretending to stand against it. Americans have no desire to see the blood of their children spilled on the altar of the foreign policy establishment.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
