No one can deny that the United States is facing a student debt crisis.
With more than $1.6 trillion in outstanding student loan debt, tens of millions of Americans are forced to pay huge sums of money every month – this writer included – to private and government lenders, slowing down growth in other important areas of the economy, like the housing industry.
As usual, Democrats’ plans to fix this important problem is to throw even more money at it and give greater power to the very same government agents and politicians that messed the system up in the first place.

"I just wanted to ask one question. My daughter is getting out of school. I've saved all my money. She doesn't have any student loans. Am I going to get my money back?" the man in an embroidered leather jacket asked Warren. "Of course not," the Massachusetts senator, 70, responded. "So you're going to pay for people who didn't save any money and those of us who did the right thing get screwed," he said.
From a town hall meeting in Iowa last week. And he's exactly right.

The key to repaying student debt is a reasonably good chance of gainful employment after college. Handing out worthless degrees in gender studies or racial studies is a guaranteed life of flipping burgers at minimum wage. Student loans should not be made available for worthless education but our systems of "higher learning" will be the last to fix this profitable boondoggle. The schools have already been paid. Grinding out hordes of lawyers into a glut of lawyers does not help either. But I think we know and Bernie knows that he is lying. Once he is put into office by the deadbeat crowd they wouldn't see one cent of student loan relief.

Wiping out the date is not only a slap in the face to responsible students, it still does not make the other students employable. That is the real problem.

Obviously my credit card debt should be forgiven so the money can be directed to other sectors of the economy. I really would like a new $50K plus vehicle. Why articles like this one by da*n fools are printed is a mystery to me .

Its a simple fix, restore competitive capitalism principles back into system! Get rid of Student loan program all together!! If we got an increase in amount we could get, tuition rose that amount. All a scam!!

Working summers, weekends, vacations, odd jobs, and some help from my family I was able to graduate debt free through grad school. Irony of all this, I qualified for six scholarships but was passed over because my dad made too much money.
That has since changed, but those who got the scholarships were in several cases granted 120% scholarships due to pigmentation. Ironically two of them skipped every Tuesday to go collect their welfare and unemployment checks. Other days while I was working they were shooting hoops, chasing women, laying on the beach or spend time in back room gambling joints. I called it cheating at every level. The worst part of it was that the schools were complicit in these scams.
Am I BITTER? NO. I am BETTER for it.
I also realize that today it is almost impossible to earn enough to cover the costs without some help due to inflated payrolls supporting one class tenured professors who do research while student assistants teach their classes.

The main reason for all of these student loans is the institutions of higher learning are grossly overcharging students for what they get. Most of them have far too many administrators. To put it in ancient non PC terms they have too many Chiefs and not enough Injuns. Presidents who make over a million a year, VPs, Provosts, Deans, etc. Entire divisions in the Dean of Students office are complete psychiatric services, diversity, LSMFT, etc. They even have services to fill out resumes for students to hoodwink prospective employers. Back when I was associated with one I used to privately remark I was all for diversity. We were overstocked with idiots.

I wonder if Warren and Sanders would be interested in wiping out home mortgage debt? That money could then be used to stimulate the economy!
(see how ridiculous they can be?)

Government has no problem going after what Big Pharma charges for medications, but allows allows our children to take on usurious debt to get a college education. The major private colleges are sitting on Trust funds totalling in the billions, but still need Government to subsidize tuitions.
