The warden in charge when Jeffrey Epstein died in his jail cell is getting a cushy new supervisor's job at 'Club Fed' despite Attorney General Bill Barr's demand that he be reassigned to a desk job. Lamine N'Diaye is being reassigned to a leadership role at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security prison in Burlington County, New Jersey, two people familiar with the matter said. The move comes months after Barr ordered N'Diaye be reassigned to a desk post at the Bureau of Prisons' regional office in Pennsylvania after Epstein's death as the FBI and the Justice Department's inspector general investigated.

Comments:

Why not? N'Diaye has expertise at running a low-security prison and, by the name, completes a valued Diversity in leadership checkbox.

He's probably a hero because he's the one who unlocked his cell when "a man who appeared to be Jeffrey Epstein was wheeled out on a gurney to a waiting ambulance." Then the report came out that Jeff had hanged himself in his cell. I'm waiting to hear that Jeffrey is relaxing on a beach in Dubai with two twelve year old girls rubbing him down with incense and myrrh.

It’s like they were allowing the federal detention center to be run like a third world country jail. Chances are in the entire City of New York they could not find capable and competent people to operate that jail, so they ended up with this particular warden, and his or her jailers, who were directly responsible for maintaining the jail cell that housed Epstein in accordance with applicable federal rules, who obviously were either totally incompetent or corrupt or both, and who now are now under indictment for failing to carry out their duties.

Hold fire, People! This story is probably incomplete; it results from an anonymous tip, and ‘investigations…remain active.’ Perhaps the Bureau of Prisons has done what Barr told it to do while, at the same time, adhering to the miasma of civil service rules protect executive-level employees (of whom N’Diaye may be one): i.e., reassign N’Diaye to the lowest-level--but still executive level--desk job available. If the man’s a Senior Executive Service employee, he can’t be downgraded simply by dictate…not even the AG’s dictate.

Very common practice. Shell Oil Company use to promote 'screw ups' the same way. It's been many years since I was at Fort Dix I wondered what happen to it now I know. N'Diaye probably received a big fat raise too for a job well done.

Oh come on. There's nothing new here. This type of promotion has been going on in business for decades. I can think of at least three of my managers who were complete idiots and never achieved anything, but were promoted to a job where they couldn't do as much damage. The departments immediately ran smoother and produced better results as soon the manager was removed.

Clearview promotes itself as an effective way to track down dangerous people. It takes partial credit for the recent arrests in New Jersey of 19 men who police say tried to lure children for sex.
