The Senate passed Mitch McConnell’s impeachment trial rules along party lines early Wednesday morning — ending a 13-hour day of debate on the Senate floor in which all 11 amendments introduced by the Democrats were rejected.
The amendments sought subpoenas for key witnesses and documents related to President Trump’s decision to allegedly withhold aid to Ukraine in exchange for the country to investigate Hunter Biden’s business dealings in the country.
All of the amendments except for one were shot down by Republicans in a party-line vote. Senator Susan Collins was the only lawmaker to break with her party during one of the amendment votes.

Our Constitution must be followed as the President’s Attorneys [and Mark Levin in his new extemporaneous last program] have outlined. Period.

Roberts needs to shut up. Nadless had his chance to call Bolton during the House proceedings and didn’t. Now he wants a mulligan. Ain’t happening. Good job Mitch!

FTA: Cipollone fired back, saying it’s Nadler who should be embarrassed. “The only one who should be embarrassed, Mr. Nadler, is you for the way you’ve addressed this body. This is the United States Senate. You’re not in charge here,”
Cipollone literally means "big onions" - - but metaphorically these "onions" are not vegetables - - they're the testosterone producers which make a man a man. Pat Cipollone - - Mr. Big Onions - - in more ways than one!

Sorry to see the Chief Justice step in, but it appears that Roberts endorsed Cipollone's words to Nadler.

Pencil Neck, Jabba, and Chuckie, just sit down, clam up, and fold your hands. Roberts, you need to realize you are a judge not a juror. Your job is to preside not to decide.
Murko, Pierre, and Susie Q from Maine, now make sure you behave and don't act up, hear?

RINOs will be RINOs but the senators all realize that they are gambling with their future careers and paychecks if they go against us and the President. Hopefully Collins is in her last term but it's probably easy to buy an election in a little state like Maine that is full of retired NY, CN and MA transplants.

"big onions" Cipollone vs. Nadless. Interesting.
It appears that while Roberts diplomatically admonished both sides, Cipollone essentially told Nadless the same thing, you can't throw around groundless partisan accusations and smears in the US Senate; "You gotta show a little respect."
Clink. The dems just got locked into McConnell's handcuffs. No witnesses now. A "Kill Switch". Evidence, or the lack of it. The clowns from the House are going to be locked into impotent lawful behavior. Impotent because they have NO evidence within the law.

“We believe once you hear those initial presentations, the only conclusion will be that the president has done absolutely nothing wrong, and that these articles of impeachment do not begin to approach the standard required by the Constitution and in fact, they themselves will establish nothing beyond those articles,” he said. “You look at those articles alone and you will determine that there is absolutely no case.” [Cipollone]
Amen!

There was a woman Jeanette Rankin, who voted against the US entering WW2.
She was the sole vote against.
Collins reminds me a bit of her. I guess she just likes to stand out and be different.Drawing attention to herself.

So Mitch caved, knowing that Schumer would once again come back AFTER Mitch gave Schumer three days at eight hours per day over two days at twelve hours per day and cry foul for exactly what Schumer wanted BEFORE the lunch break. Mitch, stupidly and as usual, thought the Marxist press would catch Schumer's hypocrisy when Schumer GOT what he wanted after lunch then cried about that also being unfair. Lucy holds the football, Mitch runs up to kick it and Lucy pulls the football away. What a surprise. Mitch and the rest of the bed wetting Senators slurp at the Lincoln chalice with the new slurper, John Roberts, the giver of Obamacare. The Republicans NEVER fail to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, NEVER.

There was no debate. There were a series of "managers" who took turns spouting talking points. Most of the talking points involved the newly discovered part of the Constitution, discovered in December 2019, which makes the House of Representatives the Chief Executive Officer of the United States. Thus the House has full authority to examine and approve all communications between the President and all of his advisors. There is no executive privilege. There is no separation of powers. The Fascist Democrats of Scat Queen Pelosi will run roughshod over any opposition. You have heard of house rules? Well, this House Rules.
I was unaware that the President has no say in our Foreign Policy. Our policy is determined and set by the Deep State, in the form of career employees of the Department of State. They, and not the President, control things.
Apparently the President has no say in Domestic Policy either, since those policies are set by the Deep State at Interior, Agriculture, Homeland Security, Labor, etc.
The President is merely a ceremonial figure.
So don't talk about debate. Talk about chaff. Because that is what the wind is blowing in our eyes.

Schumer run out of amendments? Thought he would have had hundreds of proposals and keep the discussion going for days. The article says all amendments were rejected, but later goes on to say there was one approved. No word on what it was about. Don't trust these clowns for a second. Strongly suspect everyone in the Senate has already made up their mind how they will be voting. This is all for show. No need for witnesses. The only question left is whether or not Republicans have joined the Democrat's coup. Looks like Senator Collins has.

There is no way I am going to waste my time listening to pathological liars like Schiff and Nadler spout their nonsense and lies.
I will periodically look at a few news pieces for a summary.
Sounds like the Dems got nothing, and Collins is still being a puke.

This is not a boxing match where blows get exchanged at the same time and your job is to avoid them while trying to land a knockout blow. No ... it's more like a baseball game, where each side gets up for 3 outs in an inning ... which can last a long time! So far, we haven't had "our ups" yet. So we have to watch from the dugout as the other side runs the bases and yes, scores hits & runs. Soon, however, it will be OUR turn to get up and take some swings of the bat and our heavy hitters have yet to take the field! Not to worry ... there are 9 innings in the game and 8-and-a half have yet to be played.
In the immortal words of John Paul Jones (the naval guy, not the rock star) when asked to surrender: "I have not yet begun to fight!"
