Last week, liberal media outlets latched onto the latest horrific example of bigoted Christians forcing their morality on everyone else: a Christian school expelling a girl for posting a picture of herself wearing a rainbow sweatshirt and eating a rainbow cake on Facebook. According to the girl's mother, the Christian school rushed to judgment and expelled her daughter, who isn't even gay, over a birthday cake!
This narrative, which plays into the biases of many liberal journalists and LGBT activists, is just as wrong as the narrative of Covington Catholic teen Nick Sandmann disrespecting a Native American man.

It's because she is a lesbian, and is flaunting it on social media, bragging about it, and the shirt and cake were intended as a gig at the Christian school.
The cake was the last straw, showing that she intends to be an obnoxious, in your face, lesbian, which the school does not approve of.
Bravo for the school!

My daughter graduated in 2000. There were at least three girls in her group who identified themselves as gay. Five years later they were all married to men and had families. Why would they so badly misidentify themselves? Because it was stylish, and above all else teens want to be stylish. Maybe if the activists and schools wouldnt try so hard to get kids to screw up their lives, things would work better.

I had no idea of this story. The girl is obviously pushing the buttons of the school. Why would she post a pic of herself throwing her bible into the dryer, post pic of her saying she's coming out, and another one of her saying she had her girlfriend in bed? It's SO stupid. She's dying for attention, the girl has mental problems and her mom refuses to see it. It's pathetic.

It's simple. She and her parents signed a contract and then violated the contract. End of story!

Both the brain-addled girl and her mother are disingenuous liars. What puzzles me is why did she enroll in a Christian school in the first place? I can only figure that she was nominally a cultural “Christian” at thirteen, before deciding she didn’t need to conform to whatever expectations.

It's sad that teenagers who need attention (that's ALL teenagers) get used by adults who have an agenda.

This is another version of the Bakery case. Leftists deliberately push in so they can harm people who are minding their own business. There must be no opposition!! Their can be no unapproved thought!!
"Ve Vill BREAK you!!!" scream the liberals, spitting in fury.
"We will endure," answer the faithful.

Seems like this student will be happy, the school will be happy, the media is happy. win win win
I'm not sure why her parents ever wanted to pay for a Christian private school education???
By the way, if it had only been about the cake, the school would have been thrilled that she believed in the Biblical flood.

The LGBTQ Nazis are an obnoxious group of nitwits who get their power because of media's agenda to lie to fit their narrative.
There had to be "the rest of the story" and here it is. The parent and the girl were testing the school's rules and the cake incident was the last straw. Why did the family choose that school or did this just evolve but now the attack on the Christian school is obvious and the fake news is just that, fake.

It appears the "narrative" was planted by parents...so, in that sense, it is different than the journalistic malpractice of Covington. The school is the injured party, and seemingly has recourse.

The parents, or perhaps just the mom, in this case, is worse than the daughter. She is enabling and even promoting her terrible behavior.

Sounds like the mom was trying to save face over her daughter's expulsion while bashing the school. Unfortunately, today's culture tells kids it's cool to be gay or transgendered, so many are experimenting. In my daughter's Christian school, a group of 15 and 16-year-olds left to attend public school because they could not abide by the school's Christian ethos statement.

Headline should have said the student wasn't expelled for only the cake. Mom and daughter have been pushing buttons for a while and probably hope to get a settlement from the school.

High school is a lot like a prison (every teen would probably agree). Many female prisoners become ''gay for the stay' while in the ''joint.'' When/if they leave prison, they pick up life on the outside as before. I wonder if all the on-going flap in EVERY media is what is triggering this ''new found'' interest in what my parents knew as ''love that dare not speak the name.''
