They claimed they were “white squaw Cherokee Indian” spiritual healers, and used eggs filled with snake embryos to convince their victims that they were cursed, authorities say.
One woman forked over almost $1.5 million before realizing it was a scam.
But on Friday, the mother-daughter pair of Annie Marie Vwanawick, 74, and April Miller, 44, both of Broward, were sentenced to 42 months and 27 months in prison, respectively, for defrauding two victims with their spiritual scams.
U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra found at West Palm Beach federal court that the pair had defrauded one victim of slightly more than $1.4 million.

Number 4 is right on! I remember a comedy routine about a soothsayer from early 1950's. Maybe it was Brother Dave, or such. The punchline was hard to find, but it ended up with ''What do the soothsayer say?
Soothesayer, he say ''Sooth!''

There really are people who can heal with touch, and some through non tactile means. It doesn't always work and it doesn't always work as planned, so it is impossible to prove in a society that so loves the scientific method. The phonies ruin it for everyone, and to me the first sign of a phony is asking for money. The ability to heal with touch is a divine gift that should not be sullied with finance.

They saw it worked for Lieawatha Fauxcahontas, so why couldn't it work for them!!
But seriously...Yes, there are really some people who can heal others without touching them. My partner has metastasized prostate cancer and his sister has the healing touch, but she refuses to use it and hasn't even acknowledged it for many years (I think she is afraid of it). She won't even help her family members like her brother, and we don't even dare ask her either. It's too bad. She has a gift but won't use it out of fear.

Me Too, Hershey (#13)!
When I read "They claimed they were “white squaw Cherokee Indian” spiritual healers",
my mind went "Click!..... LieaWatha! She has a daughter?"
Then I read on, and realized it was 'another case from Broward County, FL.'
Oh, the Disappointment!

The defrauded ones must have been demonrats because demonrats have the mentality of a Jim Jones follower.
