A Michigan senator is accused of humiliating a female journalist in the state’s chambers by telling her a group of high school boys “could have a lot of fun” with her, according to the reporter. Michigan Advance reporter Allison Donahue claimed the comments by Sen. Peter Lucido, the state’s senate majority whip, left her “objectified and humiliated” as she tried to interview him. Instead of answering the 22-year-old’s questions, the politician pointed to a group of about 30 boys visiting from his all-boys alma mater, De La Salle Collegiate, Donahue wrote in a first-person exposé. “You should hang around!

Why does the press not put in Dem every single time one of their idiots does stuff? We have many idiots of our own for sure, but they always make sure to add "Republican:, in the headline.

What makes his remark even more tone deaf is that DeLasalle has been in the local news a lot because of a hazing scandal in which the football team was forced to withdraw from the playoffs and the head coach was fired.

What an idiot. We don't need someone this clueless in the GOP.
Where did he think he was, on some movie set with Chevy Chase of 1985?

#1 the doofus fool's republican and it is mentioned in the article. Some people are just downright idiots and this fool should be tossed from the world of public "service" and lose his pension.

I remember when reporters used to be grown ups. Granted, it was a stupid and politically tone-deaf for him thing to say, but I would have more respect for her if she had replied, "You first, Senator!"

Meh.
It was a bad jibe. Tone deaf. But, it doesn't hold a candle to what the Donks have done. He needs to be taken to the woodshed and left alone so we can see he learned his lesson.
And remember, any person in the press, especially the women, are hand grenades with the pin pulled out.

Settle down, it all depends on how you read the comment, particularly the word, "fun."
If you think nasty thoughts, that's your problem. "Fun" could mean a day at the amusement park or a symphony. Making that statement around a bunch of Mormons boys wouldn't have raised an eyebrow. Our degenerate society has truly damaged each of us.

The Michigan legislature has a Republican majority.
Agree with those who think it a boneheaded remark and that this bonehead should apologize. He only managed a few weasel words to skirt his blunder. He was completely disingenuous about his meaning, which his audience fully grasped with their laughter.
I am at a loss that anyone would make such a tasteless and loaded comment at an all-boys school, Mormon or not. Their hormones rage just like any other boy’s.
That said, she should have demanded an apology directly from him and left it at that. Instead, it becomes national news. Yeah, sweetheart, that’ll burnish your professional creds. You’re one tough cookie ...
And while I’m at it, the ladies can certainly hold their own dishing locker room talk.

The senator says he always found it awkward to talk to girls when he was at school, and it sounds like he still doesn't quite have the hang of it.
