America’s governors have overwhelmingly refused President Trump’s offer to exercise a veto over new refugees being sent to their states, in what activists say is a stunning and heartening affirmation of the Statue of Liberty. New York and Alaska added their names to the list late last week, activist groups said, making at least 41 governors who have now said they will continue to accept refugees. The chief holdouts are a pocket of conservative states ranging from Texas to Florida.(Snip) “It shows that Lady Liberty still lifts her lamp beside the golden door, despite illegal efforts to extinguish that flame of compassion

I always want to ask proponents of this wholesale embrace of illegals and refugees - how many are you willing to allow in? One million, 5 million, 10 million? The potential is limitless for the number who would seek refuge here but the question is how many can we actually absorb?

This is a recipe for disaster, folks. In Fort Morgan, Colorado, the Catholic Church and Leprino Foods (now Cargill) had arranged several years ago for the delivery of several hundred Somali "refugees" as cheap labor for Cargill's cheese plant. Since then Somali-inspired crime and violence has wrecked Fort Morgan from what was once a sleepy little farming. The local farmers now feel like they are the minority. Stunningly, the public schools in FM now teach their students in Somali. English is now taught as a second language.
Don't fall for it. Get in your Governor's face and demand he/she cease and desist this practice.

I looked for the list to see if Tennessee's governor had signed it. List not found, but the usual suspects from Shelby County and Memphis are always on the forefront of these kinds of publicity stunts. The mayor of Memphis was pictured and good old Steve Cohen, (D-TN) represents Memphis which is a different state of being. It more rightly belongs to Arkansas.

Unlimited, unvetted immigration simply means the end of America as we know it - EXACTLY what the radical Democrats DREAM ABOUT ... these anti-American socialists cannot persuade enough sane Americans to vote their way, so their only solution is to import NEW voters who will see it their way as taxpayer money is funneled to THEIR healthcare, education, law enforcement, housing, food stamps, child care, etc.

What the Governors should have been asked is how many refugees that their States were willing to pay to resettle each year?
Then that amount of refugees should be allocated to each State with the State that asked for the refugees paying all the resettlement costs.
The States don’t care how many refugees arrive in their States now, as all the costs involved can be passed off to the Federal Government. Now the more refugees that come to a State the more federal money the State gets.

Our government stabs us in the back.
Expect to see more homeless camps. Most of these refugees will not have the skills for a job or be able to provide for themselves, but they will be registered to vote.

I'm pretty sure that a bad poem engraved on a chunk of French iron isn't official US immigration policy.

Also, looking at that picture from Tennessee on the Washington Times website, if that's America's best and brightest, no wonder they want more illegal aliens.

This is the UNITED States. Not the Diversity States
Ohio’s gov. Mr MaGoo is on the list. He should open his eyes. He wants refugees he should allow them to tent on the lawn of his big ole governors mansion He wants them. He should house them. Not the taxpayers

The states don't get to say how many get into this country and they have to get in first.

41 governors are now on the endangered species list. Even in California and New York, people are getting fed up with this.

Governors are divided almost exactly evenly between Republican and Democrat, yet here we have 80% going for "refugees."
I strongly suspect vying for better census numbers is what's going on, with a healthy dollop of virtue signaling to cover it up.

And eventually these governors will come begging to the feds for money to pay for this failed policy. This will be the ruination of this country if it is allowed to continue. When the push comes to let these people vote then we'll know the party's over. The democrats want this and the republicans are willing to go along with it. Can not understand why the republicans would sign their own death warrant. WAKE UP AMERICA!

This makes me so angry my teeth hurt. Mike DeWine is a little fool who, if honest, is selling his state down the river. Columbus has a huge Somali population. We do not need more anywhere in the state. When will these dolts understand you cannot import the Third World into your country and expect a good result. Just look at Europe. Do these witless governors expect a different result? The people behind this massive movement are not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. This is nothing more than an attempt at destabilization which is a very dangerous game to play. They cannot produce data that is positive about these resettlements. It is not good for anywhere it is tried. Give me one example, I dare you. These so called religious organizations profiting from these policies are primarily interested in the money that they receive. As always, follow the money. Clearly, nothing is more important to them than filthy lucre which is disgraceful. Write, call, email your governors. We must put pressure on them. Also, these faux religious organizations should be exposed as the money grubbing anti-American fools they are.

Maybe Trump should simply explain that he will send as many Refugees to any state asking for them, BUT! the FEDERAL Government will not send money to take care of them. That comes out of the STATE'S Coffers. Does anyone think that Governor won't be voted out , or better yet, Recalled!! The Voters in that state do NOT want to give up the money that supports THEIR lifestyle so that it can support thousands of Refugees!

Thank God that Asa!, our own little flame of compassion here in Arkansas, is term-limited out. Rumor is that he wants to grow up to be a Senator.

I think aid to the so called charities should be cut off... see what they're willing to do out of their own pockets.
And maybe the best solution is to NOT have refugees.

OP- Not all Lutheran Synods are associated with the Lutheran Immigration & Refugee Services. The LIRS website shows their church partners as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (LELCA).

Once the Lutheran and Catholic so-called charities get their $8K or whatever is it now per refugee they place on the back of the US taxpayer, the refugees are then free to go where they please, and import their entire families.
